- For the second season running we ran up seven goals at home, this time against Wycombe Wanderers. Ivan Toney hit a hat-trick with Ethan Pinnock, Tariqe Fosu, Sergi Canos, and Josh Dasilva also on target as we made it 18 unbeaten in the second tier.

I like Ainsworth and I like Wycombe, so out of all the teams we could put 7 past it's a shame it's them, but wow. After some sloppy defending that was an impressive way to make up for it.

Remember Ivan Toney playing against us ( Sunderland) for Peterborough and he stood out above the rest he’s a top player in my view I couldn’t believe it took another full season after that for someone to snap him up.

If Brentford defend like that against good teams, they won't be promoted. Woeful first 45. And Wycombe fell apart after the break and stopped defending. Some quality goals by the Bees, but Wycombe helped them a fair bit.
Still, 5 goals in 45 mins is impressive.
I’m a Brentford fan and couldn’t agree more, we didn’t even play good for any parts of the game. 3 goals were 80 min plus when they had collapsed. Out of the other 4, 1 one of them was good and the other 3 were all really lucky. Crazy to say it but we could’ve lost with the quality of the performance.
@@samuelbeirne4173 it was largely down to the lack of defensive cover from the midfield though, second half jensen stepped and then janelt did what he does when he came on, with norgaard back soon we'll have more than enough cover in that department, although I can't help but wish the club had bought a defender considering goode and pontus are both out
@@Tuff3rs while I agree that the crucial part of a team is the midfield and they have to work to protect the defence, there were plenty of Bees near the two Wycombe goalscorer before they scored, but no one dealt with the threat.
