That's true for many people, Francis. Depending on the mood you're in, music often regarded as "sad" can offer an opportunity for introspection and reflection, which can be very soothing. Hope you enjoyed the compilation!
@@HALIDONMUSIC I thoroughly enjoyed it! Love this channel! Classical music is my favorite along with Jazz. I used to play the piano all growing up, can't wait to get another one in the future🎹
Why is introspective or peaceful considered sad? What I consider sad is hype, negative labels and schlock. I don't run from the wide range of emotions, moods, feelings and the many expressions and forms they may take to communicate life's complexity and richness. We do not live in our heads but are a part of everything that is. Being is enough for me. So far I found this music relaxing and of comfort. Thank You and Best Wishes all 🕊️
No, you can't, don't want to let it go. Embrace, claim, live at the edge of your well earned dispair. The best the music can do is to draw you from the center, from the depths, where you would surely drown, to the edge, where you can see and feel. But not drown.
Melancholy classical music is always comforting. It helps you more than the uplifting music, because it teaches you how to look straight into your emotions and solve them. It reminds us that we are not alone in being depressed. I love how a number of Chopin’s 24 Preludes and Nocturnes were included, they’re one of my favorites, especially Prelude in E minor.

Yes, there is so much potential for goodness and prosperity in our hours of sadness. It makes me think of the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes; "There is a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance." Thank you for including several of my recordings in this playlist, Halidon! Great to hear Vadim's recording of Pachelbel's Aria and 4 Variations - it's new to me but beautiful. Feel a bit sorry for Pachelbel that he's only really known for his Canon...
There've been multiple times where I hear an interesting piece that I don't recognize come up on one of these Halidon playlists and I have to look up to see what piece it is and lo and behold, it's another Luke Faulkner original. Well done!
The image you've selected to accompany these beautiful pieces only serves to enhance the melancholic nature of the video. It is one of my greatest fears that picturesque villages such as these will eventually slip out of existence, elbowed aside in the name of so called "progress." If it weren't for the tourism they currently generate they probably wouldn't even exist at all. It makes me incredibly sad to consider really. No more than a century ago an average person with an average job could live in houses like these. Today more and more are sold off to developers to create some tasteless chain-store, or owned by wealthy businessmen or politicians as second homes. The cheapest one could hope to find a house like this today in a reasonable location is no less than a million pounds. But at least they still do exist, though tourist-ridden they still serve as a faint reminder that beauty can prevail even in the most unpleasant of circumstances. I can only hope that the world comes to its senses and realises we don't all want to live in concrete cubes like some dystopian nightmare. I'd take a Cotswolds cottage any day.
Agreed, similar to travelling all over America and seeing the ( usually dismissive term ) regionalism or all the local flavor, charm, indiginal? style, culture, community... evaporating or turned into a theme park, realtors staging or shrine to the wealthiest/ highest bidders. A homogenized blankness like a pall across the land. No great difference practically being in Charleston S.C., Arizona, California, New England other than what hasn't yet been absorbed by a flattening sameness that bottom lines produce.
@@petemavus2948 An excellent point. Unfortunately one of the setbacks of our modern world is the death of regional art styles in favour of functional but ugly modern designs. There was once a time where you could drive across England and see houses being made from dozens of different materials depending on what the region provides. Now unfortunately it seems as though businessmen are insisting on nothing but weathered concrete or cheap plastic tiling. At least there are some untainted areas remaining, such as the Lake District and the Cotswolds.

@@HALIDONMUSIC Oh wonderful! I agree, the Cotswolds are certainly one of my favourite regions of England; and I was indeed extremely fortunate to grow up there. I do still visit regularly, and luckily, it only takes around 3 hours by car. Although I definitely miss it, I’ve now set up home in rural Suffolk (Eastern England), and am currently in the process of restoring an early 15th century cottage - which is extremely exciting!

I think the reason why we like "sad" music is because it speaks things we don't or can't talk about, its communicating in its own language those bitter things which people usually can't communicate
sublime meditative gentleness, comforting rather than 'sad' to my ears and heart today -- especially moved by Vadim Chaimovich's playing of Mendelssohn - Songs Without Words, Book 2, Op. 30: No. 6, Venetian Boat Song. Such depth and tenderness.
Agreed Trog and Thank You I'm trying it's been one thing after another but your good will and wishes make it more tolerable, so same to you and all struggling, learning, sharing, loving, kind people everywhere - PEACE 🕊️

Its raining autumn leaves when I cry for my darling. Missing her beautiful gaze when I fall upon hers eyes. Smiling warmth from the earth to my heart. Its rain I no leaves in an autumn forest full of surprise. What do you seek when you are alone? Tell me what matters as I fall apart thinking of you. Its raining autumn leaves and here comes the snow. Cold heart frozen from the forest. Ps this is morning
idk if it's just me, but i mostly tend to imagine crazy pictures in my mind...like i go through all colors and face the endless blackness. Without any emotion in my face, i just fly deep into my dark soul and questioning myself.. I don't feel sad or anything like that, i just think: That's me. I was born like that and i have to accept it. I found my true sanity, so my views began to change, my friends, interests and the way how i approached to humans, just everything changed in my life. I am happy cause now i understand myself, i am a complicated person and others who know me would agree that fact. As a result of this and my ridiculous imaginations of my emotions i tend to draw it. I am a daydreamer and unfortunately i cannot stop it...my head won't stop thinking..
The Word Melancholy and The Melancholy Feeling are Sometimes Beautiful or Comfortable for Me☆ Because of Their Becoming and Changing Into the Beautiful Memories, For Example When I Receive Them☆ Thank You for Your Beautiful Music and the Sepia Color Changing Picture Like My Memories☆☆☆
I feel so helpless. My mother has been so beyond stressed and frustrated with the house always becoming a mess when I leave because the children aren't doing their part. Me and her both have tried everything in and out of the book to get them to cooperate but it always goes back to zero like their brains reset every night or something. Her anger is starting to spill onto me, which isn't her fault, but you could imagine how it feels when I express that I'm frustrated at my inability to help her and she treats it like I'm trying to downplay her frustration. It's not like I can say anything to, "I've been doing this for 18 years, how do you think I feel?" I know very well how she feels by now and I've been there the whole time, but I can't do anything to change my past. Besides, conditions were not ideal. For a while, nobody was helping, even her, because we were all too depressed to do more than what was needed to be done asap, then came the kids, and we could barely keep up. I take the blame for not helping in my past, yes, it's a thing that happened, but I was going through trauma. They aren't. That's the difference. They don't struggle to get out of bed or eat propper meals like we had. Their biggest worries are their games and toys and getting what they want, when they want it. I can keep the house clean all on my own day by day, but when I'm not around, I can't do anything, and that drives my crazy. I've told them this countless times. Countless ways. They've made promises time and time again, but it never goes any further than words. Unless I'm physically standing over them and ordering them around all the time, they won't cooperate. I might as well just do it all on my own at that point, but again, I'm not always around. If they even did just a mere 2 chores each a day, for every one of the 2-7 days I leave for, the house would look so much better. They don't bother. They always remind me that they know what they're supposed to do, yet they never actually do it. It's causing such heavy frustration and anger in the family that the rest of us are snapping at each other when it isn't our fault. Everyone knows its them, but we can't seem to do find a way to do anything about it, and it's breaking us down. Nothing has ever been a worse frustration than seeing my mother be broken down time and time again only for me to be utterly powerless to do anything to help. I you can help it, don't have children. They're cute, they're sweet, but they are still just smaller people. They're people that have the potential to tear a whole family appart without yet having the mind to comprehend just what they're doing to the people that love them.
What can we say, we have superpowers! (We really don't but we appreciate your lovely words and are happy the playlist fits your mood 💖). A wonderful day to you too!

Darkness is not all dark, scary, where all demons hide and lurk. There's a mystery in the air to it, it doesn't show you happy things and make it all fantasy but evokes a sense of mature love which is all bitter and sweet. Once you start, you want to know more and that's where darkness and malencholy lies. It beautifully and painfully exists.

I pray 🙏 for you and the beauty and perfection already within you that you or others may not see. Please don't DIS yourself or anyone with EASE... You are a valid expression of all love and life... Be Well 🕊️
Melancholic music is like prayer, and prayer gives us energy and revitalizes our powers. As we recognize and accept our weakness, through prayers we draw some mystical powers from above. It is like emptying our own cups, and letting the divine powers pour bounty upon into it. One Baha'i prayer says: "Lord! Pitiful are we, grant us Thy favor; poor, bestow upon us a share from the ocean of Thy wealth; needy, do Thou satisfy us; abased, give us Thy glory. ...... Give us our daily bread and grant Thine increase in the necessities of life, that we may be dependent on none other than Thee, may commune wholly with Thee, may walk in Thy ways and declare Thy mysteries. Thou art the Almighty and the Loving and the Provider of all mankind." Thus, prayer helps us to have hope, strength so we become better persons and able to serve others lovingly.
What a beautiful, appropo PRAYER 🙏 Thank and Bless you and all kind, patient, loving and giving children of God/Higher Power who live with earnest, awe and gratitude 🕊️ Amen

@@christiehall361 You’re very welcome. Yes, it is indeed a very beautiful village - as is the surrounding area (called “The Cotswolds”).
Ooh, the Cotswolds are one of our favourite regions in England! How lucky to grow up there. Do you still visit sometimes? 😊
@@christiehall361 I thought it was a Norman village, beautiful region of France
@@HALIDONMUSIC Oh wonderful! I agree, the Cotswolds are certainly one of my favourite regions of England; and I was indeed extremely fortunate to grow up there. I do still visit regularly, and luckily, it only takes around 3 hours by car. Although I definitely miss it, I’ve now set up home in rural Suffolk (Eastern England), and am currently in the process of restoring an early 15th century cottage - which is extremely exciting!
I'm sick today but the music is the best medicine
Glad our collection helps, Lidia 🌺 Feel better soon!
De morceaux en morceaux de musique on se laisse aller a l émotion pure sans retenu, si beau si grand on est bien. Grand MERCI Halidon pour ce bonheur profond
This is just beautiful combined music, i know it has been labeled sad, but it is very calming and classical 🎼🎼🎹
Tristezza e malinconia esprimono al meglio la forza,i silenzi assordanti e la verità della musica classica e della vita. Sono io. Lo stile più bello e senza tempo, lontano da questi tempi e anni 🖤🥀🍂🌫
oh man that is amazing all of melancholy men says thank you.
I think the reason why we like "sad" music is because it speaks things we don't or can't talk about, its communicating in its own language those bitter things which people usually can't communicate
You Guys are the BEAST/BEST!!!
sublime meditative gentleness, comforting rather than 'sad' to my ears and heart today -- especially moved by Vadim Chaimovich's playing of Mendelssohn - Songs Without Words, Book 2, Op. 30: No. 6, Venetian Boat Song. Such depth and tenderness.
Especially 1:27:38 Rota - A Time for Us (Love Theme from "Romeo and Juliet") Wonderfull!
We agree, it has a special place in our hearts 💙
Vladimir I love how you pour your soul with quiet passion. It touches my heart and I want to cry with sadness and joy.never heard HerrJesu Christ
I found this cd to be very beautifull and sad, the pieces were well chosen ,ive never heard a few dramatic tunes which proved to be special thank you.
Thanks for posting this Halidon, beautiful music isn't always jubilant. A wish for all to stay strong in these trying times.
Agreed Trog and Thank You I'm trying it's been one thing after another but your good will and wishes make it more tolerable, so same to you and all struggling, learning, sharing, loving, kind people everywhere - PEACE 🕊️
All my favorites together. Thanks so much. Greetings from the Netherlands!
There is something deeper and easier to contend with a piece of music in a minor key! It opens an emotional side which is more somber bringing you to accept reality more readily! Thanks for the compositions!🎼🎶🎵🎹🎭🎧❤️👍‼️
Acceptance...of all that is...yes, from the depths to the heights and embracing the expansive wholeness of all human experience.
@@petemavus2948 Very true!
I had a melancholy song in my head and could not remember exactly what it was. I found it here. Thank you.
Glad to have helped you find it! May we ask which piece it was out of curiosity?

Toujours un grand plaisir. Merci
I'm happy that at least adagio for strings is not played by piano
Its raining autumn leaves when I cry for my darling.
Missing her beautiful gaze when I fall upon hers eyes.
Smiling warmth from the earth to my heart.
Its rain I no leaves in an autumn forest full of surprise.
What do you seek when you are alone?
Tell me what matters as I fall apart thinking of you.
Its raining autumn leaves and here comes the snow.
Cold heart frozen from the forest.
Ps this is morning
all this year I only listen to sad music
It helps me when I feel f....ng depressed, thank you so much.
You guys always know the perfect video to upload every day! Amazing! Thank you 😊❤️
idk if it's just me, but i mostly tend to imagine crazy pictures in my mind...like i go through all colors and face the endless blackness.
Uplifting music, such an excellent choice. Faure, Rachmaninov, Chopin and all the others. ❤️
Your absolutely right!
Best for every mode

My mood now!

What a wonderful experience. Thank you a lot
I don’t know why but I listen to this kind of music more when I’m happy
Darkness is not all dark, scary, where all demons hide and lurk. There's a mystery in the air to it, it doesn't show you happy things and make it all fantasy but evokes a sense of mature love which is all bitter and sweet. Once you start, you want to know more and that's where darkness and malencholy lies. It beautifully and painfully exists.
"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." Isaiah 55:6 KJV

We're happy to hear it Nancy, thank you for listening!
So beautiful🥹
Iam reading the Anne Frank the dairy of young girl and this sad mix is the perfect companion to the book story about the life of Jewish hiding during world war 2 thank you halidon so much
That is a great book! I have read so many great books about the Holocaust. And you are right…this music is perfect for that type of reading.
@@christiehall361 I love the holocaust history, and for my opinion what had happened to the people in Auschwitz and the holocaust is soo deep and defining in the historical and existential contexts , those part is what define the humans history
@@assiakessai I could not agree more! That time in history is like no other and still amazes me the strength of the human spirit to have endured such pain and suffering and still have the will to live. Some of my favorite books are The Violin Maker’s Daughter, The Butterfly and the Violin, and Auschwitz Lullaby. If you have not read these yet I highly recommend them all! 😊
@@christiehall361 thank you very much you ve read my mind I was going to ask you some of the book you read about me I read the tattiost of Auschwitz, the nightingale by Kristin hannah and ihave alot of books waiting to be read about this period of our history I will definitely check your recommendations, and yes to survive the cocentarations camps and the holocaust is a privilege and an honor and pride for humanity and Jewish people as well , the will to power was and would always be stronger than any obstacles
@@assiakessai I have the Tattooist of Auschwitz on my Kindle app to read also! If I come across any other ones that are good I will definitely let you know!
I just hate how I have adhd and I deal with a lot like being left out or not being able to share what I like with others cause they will make fun of me and I just hate to be alone (which is also my biggest fears) and no one really listens to me but every time I listen to this playlist, I feel way more better
Tigerlilly there are so many less self destructive words than hate that you might use instead to help yourself heal. Be Well 🕊️
@@petemavus2948 thank you for your kind words Pete 🤍
I LOVE this collection! Thank you 😊 💓
Melancholic music is like prayer, and prayer gives us energy and revitalizes our powers.
