Go to tryfum.com/REPZION and use code REPZION to save an additional 10% off your order today || Additionally, I just found this out, he actor who passed away from the movie had epilepsy during his sleep, he did not unalive himself...... which honestly makes this even more ironic because she didn't even research how the dude passed away and yet is condemning him and the parents for bringing the movies into their home, lmao.

I know you added the truth about Cameron Boyce’s death to your pinned comment but I’m really bummed that you didn’t do the research ahead of time.
I think it’s important when covering drama especially when critiquing an unreliable source to double check everything they are saying especially if it’s a 10 minute rant on one specific thing that is easily able to be fact checked.

@@extremelytired4584 I don't have the time to research movie information of actors, regardless of what she said was true or not, my statements still stand on how they view not aliving yourself. My response to her is about how they view not aliving themselves, not whether the claim is true or not; it does not change the context of my response.
The person spreading misinformation is the person asking the question, not me responding to how they view not aliving themselves. My problem is with how they view not living oneself, not how they actually passed away, but I added to my pinned comment for clarification. Not everything I respond to needs some deep dive 'research' because if that was the case, I'd never get a video done.

Tom cruise wasn't the best analogy. I understood the point but scientology specifically picked up cruise as a selling point. They want people, including kids, to see him in movies and equate him to scientology as a positive. He's a recruitment tool.

Just for clarification: the woman talking about the cast of Disney's descendants doesn't know what she's talking about. If she actually looked into it, Cameron died from a seizure in his sleep at the age of 20. He had issues with seizures his whole life. It's a small tidbit, but something I thought should be clarified.

That really bugged me when she said that because she made his death sound like something he chose to do (not that someone committing suicide isn’t just as devastating) rather than because of something that was out of his control. Like he chose to die. It’s even more infuriating is that the parent’s daughter is also suffering from health issues and could have looked up to him as a role model and now because of the parent’s inability to cross check, she’s no longer allowed to even mention him because of his supposed cause of death which could be disproved by a 2 second google search

What gets me about the Disney Descendants story is the actor didn't commit suicide, he died of complications from epilepsy. The mother didn't even do the barest minimum of research. She just saw an actor who had died and I guess assumed it was because of suicide to make it fit her agenda of not wanting to allow her child to watch it anymore. What a shitty, shitty parent. I mean she wrote to Ruby for advice so that already was a choice but the way she just twisted the actual story of the actor's honestly sudden and tragic death is just disgusting on her part. I'm getting to a point where I think you should have to pass extensive psychological testing before being allowed to have, foster, or adopt children.

my daughter ( 6 yrs old at the time) was coming home from school Hungry. even though kids generally eat a lot my gut had me question her. what she told me was some kids were taking her lunch and throwing it on the floor and smashing it. that was a call to the principal who reviewed the surveillance videos of the lunch room and punished the two girls doing it. my wife and i had a long talk with my daughter on how important it is to speak up, even on the little things that she doesn't think are problems. she now knows mom and dad have an open door policy and are available to help at any time. this is proper parenting.

Another thing my husband and I do is tell our children that IF they are too scared to talk to us, out of fear that they will be punished, tell us exactly THAT and we WILL shut up and listen until you are done explaining. We are also willing to allow a pass on the "consequence" if they did something wrong and limit the "consequence" to a thorough conversation instead. This has worked very well for us. My sister's and eldest son went to school with some of her kids in Northern UT before she decided to homeschool. They were NOT shy about telling everyone about the abuse they were experiencing with their peers and teachers/counselors. This was going on for YEARS. CPS was called hundreds of times by the school, parents of their classmates, people in the community, and people on UA-cam. Each time they dismissed the cases. It's absolutely disgusting and infuriating how broken the system is here in Utah, I'm moving next year and it can't come fast enough. The father was just as abusive, allegedly. perfect reminder that what people show online is surface level. If a parent is acting batshit online, that’s only what they’re choosing to show, not what goes on behind closed doors.
I remember seeing her video explaining to the teacher that her daughter would just have to go hungry. A child that young isn’t taking “I should have remembered” from that situation. they’re learning “if I make a simple mistake that results in something like physical hunger pain, my mom WANTS me to suffer and will not help me and will tell others to not help me”. I specifically remember thinking that if she’s THAT comfortable saying all of that online and to a teacher, there has to be way worse behind closed doors.

As someone raised by hardcore isolated Mormons. Yep. This is how I was raised. To this day the only music my mother listens to is church music. If something was not faith affirming or directly in line with the church we did not get to do it. One time I was 13 and my dad caught me Mbaiting and so from 13-until I was kicked out I never had a bedroom door. They see EVERYTHING- food, water, privacy, education, as a luxury to be earned and that they can be taken away at any point. I didn't get to experience any of the world or media until I was an adult. Captain Underpants was NEVER allowed because it quote "encouraged nudity and crude humor". If I made money it was "to help the family". I wasn't allowed property, identity, or individuality and often denied NECESSITIES. People that I wanted to be friends with were always "bad influences". Mormonism is 100% a cult. I will forever be grateful that I escaped.

Unfortunately, there are so many that didn't have the same experience. My husband was raised in the church, until he left the day he turned 18. Now almost 20 years later, he still struggles with PTSD-type issues from things that were done and said. On top of the trauma of having to deprogram and come to terms with the fact that his parents raised him to fear God and shoved their religious views down his throat just to maintain as much control as possible. A funny-ish story though: When we met and were well into our relationship, a girl from his church would come by his parent's house just to "visit" with his mother. And every time, she would always make a point to say, "be sure and tell him to call me as soon as he's done with that _fling."_ We're from a small town so the parents always try to play "match-maker" when there are girls and boys in the same age group. 13:23 you are absolutely correct on this point, particularly with relation to disabled teens and adults. The parents of disabled youth are often wonderful people who are navigating a new world. There is, however, a tendency to infantilize disabled people in adolescence and into adulthood - they even reference her as their “little princess” instead of recognizing her as the unique and complex person that she is growing into. It’s like all of the people who believe that people with Downs Syndrome or Fredrickson’s, Fragile X, or many other conditions which cause intellectual disability; that those people are unable to express anything other than abject joy, love, relational openness, and “childlike” sweetness. They insist these children are “forever children” who never will grow up. Its ableist, it’s disgusting, and it suggests that adults who face intellectual delays are not “real” adults. It is ableist in its refusal to recognize those disabled persons as their own unique, special creatures - just like their abled counterparts.

    • @Larry_Stylinson
      @Larry_Stylinson Рік тому +10

Yeah, this. I'd also like to add that at least some of these parents of disabled children aren't supporting their children to become as independent as possible and actually hinder them in it because they don't want to let them go and only see them as vulnerable children and not teenagers or adults that are their own unique person just like everyone else and actually could thrive and do well if they get the right accommodations and support in their life.
They actively keep their children dependent on them and often times deny them privacy and the right to say no to things or to dislike something because it doesn't fit into their daily schedule/life/view of their child/whatever. In my opinion that's abuse.
I know of at least one family vlog channel with a non-verbal autistic child that's a teenager by now where I'm seriously questioning everyone who has contact with them because clearly the parents aren't doing what's best for their child and don't really understand autism and why their child behaves the way they do, yet nobody does anything or stands up for this child and makes sure that their wants and needs are taken seriously.
Someone "professional" told the parents that the child was basically manipulating them to get out of a situation. As an autistic person that made me extremely furious because even I could tell that that was absolutely not the case. Nobody tried to actually figure out the real reason or ask the child about it.
Also, talking about a disabled person in front of them as if they can't hear or understand you is something quite a lot of people do and it's absolutely disgusting and not okay. I've seen it quite a few times, especially when it comes to autistic children/people...

@@humblenuggetI wouldn’t say suicide is not selfish in all cases. Murder suicide is a pretty selfish way to go. I also had a neighbour that cruelly chose to shoot himself in his young daughter’s room (naturally she was the first to come across that horrific seen) though I suppose it was better then offing himself right in front of her and his other children I guess. I’d say these could be considered selfish.
On the other hand, there have been those that ended there lives in the forest or someplace isolated, so there families wouldn’t be the ones to find them, and I know of others that chose a bathtub with the curtain closed (to make clean up easier) That even in their darkest and loneliest time they took others into their consideration.
      All in all, it’s nuanced.

The bullying thing hurt to hear. My parents never believing me or offering support has affected me as an adult. I've just been overseas on holiday, meeting up with my mum and brother (we live in different parts of the same country) and I could not open up about my personal issues even though I was visibly depressed the whole time. It also took 2 weeks of panic attacks and hiding from my family to ask my mum who speak the language for help getting more meds for my anxiety as I didn't expect to need much and those meds are hard to get here, let alone while on a remote island with no doctor or pharmacy.

Even if it did, I hate the implication that it's a selfish act, it's not. My sister unalived herself and she was the most selfless person I've ever met. She was taking a new medication and it had a major risk of suicidal behavior, it aggravated her depression and she couldn't take it anymore. Often those people genuinely believe that they are doing everyone a favor. They feel like such a burden that they don't think anyone will be sad, but instead happy. They also often have blinders on and can only see how unbearable their pain is, and a way out. They can't think of their family because they can't think of anything other than the pain. No one does that because it's fun or enjoyable, it always come deep, indescribable, darkness and a feeling will never end unless they do that.

So, I saw from comments that people were explaining that the "parent" either decided to not believe what they read or didn't actually research properly because the actor actually died in his sleep from a seizure disorder. Not from taking his own life.
As someone who struggles with a seizure disorder myself, that infuriates me. How his death was changed to something it was not.
Also, the fact that the "parent" believes that there's just no way that their daughter can be bullied while in a special needs program is RIDICULOUS. People can be bad to others even if they have special needs!
This is coming from someone who grew up with a severely disabled older brother and then interacted with other kids in the family with special needs. And had friends who had family members with special needs who I interacted with.
    Like, what the heck...

It baffles me how parents continue to justify such restrictive methods under the guise of protection. There have been so many people who have been vocal about sneaking around/lying in their teens-20s, essentially going off the rails into sex and drugs the second they could, and eventually the relationship becomes strained or cut off entirely. I haven't looked for myself but I'm almost certain there's research out there of some sort that supports this (there has to be, right??). Tbh seeing these types of parents get theirs when they die alone, their kid refuses to speak to them even on their deathbed, brings me great joy. Serves em right. I hope when it comes time for Ruby to meet her maker, she has never met any potential grandchildren and is filled with regret. Fuck her. She doesn't deserve another peaceful moment.

They see parenting as a way you control your child rather than a way to support your child in growing into adulthood. I wouldn't trust someone like Ruby to care for a goldfish let alone 6 children. I really hope her kids have all the support and therapy to help them process the trauma their parents put them through.

for the subject of the woman claiming her daughter wasn't being bullied and didn't believe her JUST because she was in a school for teens with disabilities is completely ignorant. my brother has down syndrome and he was in disability classes yet he WAS bullied by another disabled student. the kid would hit and scratch at him and my mom finally had to pull him out of that school because the teacher was doing nothing to stop it. this kid would have violent tantrums and a lot of the time, my brother would be his target. it happens, sadly, no matter who you are. SHAME on the "mother" for not believing her daughter and instead decided to blame something that brings her daughter joy, wtf.
( this just really bugged 'cause my brother did go through something like this but my mom took the RIGHT actions and believed him and tried to talk to the teacher and get her to do something about it but when nothing was really being done, she removed him from there. she didn't weirdly think he was lying and didn't weirdly try to pretty much punish him by taking away something he loves like Spiderman- trying to blame the violence in that instead. Ruby is a terrible person but that lady writing to her really irked me ) plus the whole suicide thing is just disgusting...not to mention that thats not even how that actor passed away. of course thats the kind of woman she is that she'd be asking RUBY for advice.

But the kid doesn't know anything about the actors or their personal lives, so it's insane to think that it somehow is causing bad behavior via proximity or osmosis or some shit.

The so-called "disconnect" is definitely the "lie" that she's being bullied.
"If I make a committment, then I'll make a commitment with my heart, and I *will* follow through." that's pretty fcking rich from a woman whose daughter needed to go to the hospital and she said "I just want to take a shower first" and then sat in the bathroom FOR OVER AN HOUR after taking her shower because she didn't want to take her child to the hospital.
It's not even just the fact the mom didn't do even the bare minimum of research about Cameron Boyce. It's the fact a *disabled child* came home upset that she was being bullied, and the mom somehow connected it to Descendants, and blamed.... the actors? An actor who died due to epilepsey and not self checkout? I don't think it's a case of "disabled people are so useless they can't bully" it's her thinking all disabled people are gentle and innocent and naive like young children. I think the mom never figured out how to navigate having a disabled child, and was an easy victim for Ruby's brainwashing and making parents deeply paranoid about their parenting. It's weird to me any follower of Ruby's even let her daughter watch a Disney series about the children of *the villains* where the protagonist's name is derived from the word "malicious" and whose mother is often cast as the most evil and cunning of he villains. Considering Ruby never let her kids have fun for even the smallest of infractions like not closing an upstairs window to the point it properly latched or something stupid.
which idk if she did that but I can just hear her berating one of her kids over it, saying that now the room is cold and the power bill will be high trying to keep the room warm when the window is "open" and because of that they're losing their ipad privileges.
Listening to Ruby stresses me out, she's so cruel.
