- iRacing is an incredible racing simulator, and if you're looking to get into better races and higher class licenses, you'll need to understand how the safety rating system works. Well, this video points out one huge flaw in the system as I caught a rookie driver doing what most rookies do once they get passed - and I've had ENOUGH of it!
Join me as I show you proof of how frustrating it can be to have other drivers wreck your day and you get penalized for it. What's the answer? Do you have suggestions? completely understand your frustration but the best way to get your SR up is read the attitude of drivers quickly, their lines, their steering input and just stay away from other cars. even start the race from pitlane when racing against rookies. yes its good to have close battles but not if they are unpredictable. most of the idiots you will pass while they are out in the grass and most importantly don't get any off tracks or loss of control X's in the race. good luck in your races I hope you get to an A class soon.
I fully understand the rant... but yeah also you gotta learn and do it the same way we all did.
I'll get there dude! I was just letting off some steam my next race I hit the podium for the first time ever, working on having a better attitude overall I just get frustrated pretty easily on the track.
@@bigboytoysTTRCan happen to the best of us. A lot of us have sprouted eyeballs in the back of our heads from keeping the front ones peeled for kamikaze divebombs into turns. I haven't even watched the video yet, but I have an idea of what's coming. We shall see. In any case, keep your chin up. Eventually you will develop a sixth sense about whom to give miles of room and whom you can actually race closely with, of course always keeping in mind that netcode is most definitely a thing. If you see a car get picked up by the "hand of god", stay away! Stay far away! ;) Good luck, my (new) friend. I'm subbing to keep my eye on your budding iracing career.
The winning move is not to play. I do not play iRacing anymore and I do not miss it. Le Mans Ultimate is already great. LFM with ACC or AC is great. Not that there are not wreckers in those as well, but you aren't having your bank account squeezed by a company that sees it as a WAY to get you to spend more money with them. If you are an iRacing hostage, I don't know what to say at this point. There are better physics engines, better games, better communities at less cost. The ONLY thing I see iRacing has going for them is a HUGE user base. Hopefully that changes and stockholm syndrome can be cured.
Wreaks happen, big part of getting better is learning if there was something you could have done in the situation. A lot of you self spins i saw in this vid came from you blipping the throttle and not being smooth causing the car to become unbalanced, you gotta be smooth on / off. You also have the racing line on, but in your rant you were blowing apexes left right and center. Focus on your own race / driving and you'll soon find you absolutely blow rookie fields away + gain that safety rating along with it
Also stop hard focusing on getting the higher licenses when you are still having problems in slower cars. better/safer racing (to a point) comes from better iRating not a better license. getting a better license when losing iRating will mean you'll just end up in races with people who can't handle the cars.......just faster.
Also last point you'll find yourself having to spend more since a lot of the higher up stuff requires the newer paid content, just food for thought. It is a bell curve though since you buy stuff once, soon you'll find yourself again not buying loads since you already own it
The D class thing to race is Formula 4 if you always want someone to race against

hitting c class with a sub 700 irating is still going to put you in with the wreckers, iracings trap is making you focus on sr instead of 1 having fun, 2 improving skill/racecraft and in turn with that irating.
iRacing and no software in the world can code the descition who get the incs. How should they know whos fault it is? This is impossible. Even with a live reko, there are discussions after the race.
Example: Someone crashes into somene from behind. How should the software know if the guy in front brake checked the other guy? Or is it the fault of the guy behind? This is impossible to code. Even with AI.
So better this SR than no SR.
This is the best system. It is so good, that other developers are copying the SR and IR System.
You can gain SR. Others also do it and did it.

yeah, machine learning and AI just needs to be analyzed into shit loads of brake tests under all manner of circumstances. That will arrive just yeah too early. kinda.

I definitely appreciate this feedback man thanks for taking the time to write it out. But don't you think something like this already exists since sometimes they mark contact insignificant and give you 0/4 points against for a little scrape? How would that work if your first comment is true? Genuinely curious what you think.
AI Post race analysis could absolutely be trained to determine fault, like any AI. But it requires a willingness and a motivation to do it. Sadly, I think having such a system works against iRacing's financial model and they won't be the ones to do it. Someone else will do it first, and iRacing may eventually be dragged kicking and screaming into it.
@@bigboytoysTTR They measure only how hard a contact is. When the contact is minimal and no one goes of or turns around or crash in the following seconds, there will be a 0x. If the contact is harder and nothing more is happening, sometimes it is 2x when there is a little damage.
As I said, only if there is happening more after the contact you get 4x.
Sometimes you get 0x and seconds later you get the 4x. This is an example, when there is happening more after the contact, even if the contact was not so hard. Or if the servers says the damage of someone is higher then the client expected.
I hope this explains it a litte. Sorry for my english, I'm from germany ;)
In some cars you can do more contact, like the Rally Cross Cars. In other you get your incs faster, like the open wheeler.
You should have been done the moment you realized they charge a subscrition, fee on top of everything else, JUST to play the game.
