    We've done all the research, all the comparisons and all the tire kicking - ordering ours next year when we downsize and hit the road. There's always something we wish were slightly (or drastically) different on every other trailer from the Bean to the Sol - except the Escapod. It's literally perfect (for us). Happy to see all your success - hard and well earned! Can't wait.....

    The kitchen should be accessed from both inside and outside of the trailer so that you can cook indoors during bad weather, and should have a minimum of two propane tanks, it's nice that it has two batteries, and should have a 40 gallon water tank !!!

      Thanks Indy Dog - This one is really pulling out all the stops. Our average trailer is just over 20k, and still can be out the door for the teens well equipped. This build was just our chance to see how equipped we could make this, and still make everything work seamlessly together.

    Good looking trailer! The window covers look great (I need dark to sleep well 😴), and the screens too. Love that both are magnetic. Love that solar panel too!! Not sure I like the table as the cabinet cover. Has the potential to be annoying having to remove it every time I want to access that area, but maybe you just pull it every time you stop regardless of need for table.
    Do any cabinet areas pass through to the inner trailer? And how does the new suspension setup compare to Timbrens? Do you do Rock Sliders? Any issues with the overhead window leaking? Windows facing up, and on curved surfaces, make me very nervous! 😬
    We are between this and the Meaner Bean. This is more streamlined, and I believe has much better ground clearance, but less head space for sure. Everything has pros/cons. Looks like a great setup! And nice Stealie on the Jeep. 🤩💀

    • @EscapodTrailers
      @EscapodTrailers  4 роки тому +4

      Hey Kevin - Thanks for the questions. Got some answers for you:
      1. Table is meant to be removed and setup at basecamp. This offers much more function space over a horizontally sliding cabinet face, which creates a lot of dead space.
      2. No pass throughs. We've always felt this feature to be a bit gimmicky. Part of cooking outside is eating outside :)
      3. New suspension is designed for the weight and geometry of our trailers, so for us, it far outweighs the Timbren. Timbren makes a good product, but it's overbuilt, and as a rubberized suspension system not as advanced as our trailing arm setup with coil-over shocks.
      4. We do not do rock sliders, but have up to 25" of clearance on our tallest models.
      5. No stargazer window issues. In the past we used an industry standard window that didn't cut the mustard, so we have a premium window that is mounted to a flat stud under the aluminum roof.
      6. Less headroom indeed, but that also means more aerodynamic, more room to mount things on the roof, and the ability to store it in your garage. As for weather less is truly less...we feel our headroom is perfect for sleeping and sitting, anything extra would compromise too much in the areas mentioned above.
      Hope this helps! Sorry for the long wait on a response :)

    Love 90% of this design. The 10% would be the water hook ups on the fender, shower box sticks out, and standard hitch.
    Suggestions would be.....
    make the show box portable, and stow-able in the galley.
    Have the water hook ups recessed more upwards, or relocate all together. Maybe add a 10ft extension from underneath the trailer with quick disconnects.
    Flex joint hitch.
    Can these be ordered with 37" tires? Currently have a 2016 JKUR 4" lift,and 37's. I ahve to use a hitch drop all the time,and it sucks on our PNW trails as the damned thing loves to scrape.
    Lastly Sick LJ! #Jeeplife

    • @EscapodTrailers
      @EscapodTrailers  3 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing! We always love hearing feedback from prospective customers. We have the option to upgrade our standard 2” hitch receiver to a max coupler fully articulating hitch. This upgrade allows for a more secure connection so you can confidently navigate highly technical terrain like steep approach or descent angles.
      The max tire size our fender design can accommodate is 285/70R17, at 32.7” diameter. 37" tires are a little too big.

    Nice teardrop, you guys build a nice quality trailer. You should seriously consider expanding your line and doing a square-drop model! Teardrops are quaint and have that old school charm and all... which are features that probably sell a lot of units... but the square-drop design is a much more efficient use of space in the same small foot-print.
    I actually looked at and seriously considered your trailers when shopping, you were in the top 5... but in the end I went with a different brand to get a square-drop design. See why in a couple videos of on my channel BirdPhish, titled .....Expedition 2.0 by Off Grid Trailers at Trona Pinnacles (walkaround video) and the other is Expedition 2.0 by Off-Grid Trailers goes to "The Playa" - Black Rock Desert

      Thanks for the feedback. Every company definitely has their niche. We landed on the teardrop shape as one that is both aesthetic and functional in certain ways, plus we kinda liked the challenge of optimizing space within an organic shape. To each their own! Enjoy your travels.

    I really have this in my top 2. A couple questions. Can you upgrade the maxx fan with the rain guard? Is the water system suitable for drinking if its sanitized? Can i purchase an additional table? Can the undercarriage be “rhino lined” instead of the fabric? Thanks i am sure i will have more questions as we try and decide.

    • @EscapodTrailers
      @EscapodTrailers  3 роки тому +1

      Hello JT! Thank you for your inquiries.
      The fan comes standard, and we do not currently offer an upgrade from MaxxAir 4-speed exhaust fan. You can purchase a MaxxAir FanMate vent cover separately if you are worried about rain. Of course, the cover adds significant height so you just have be aware if you're looking to mount anything to the roof racks.
      The water system is suitable for drinking water. We recommend filling with a BPA free hose (we provide one with your trailer purchase).
      You can absolutely purchase an additional table, as well as additional table mounts.
      The underbelly of the trailer has a PVC liner attached to the galvanized frame. As such, it cannot be Rhino-lined. We have not had any issues with this from customer trailers or our rental trailers.
      Feel free to email if you have additional questions! hello@escapod.us!

      Is it smaller and/or more streamlined vs the old one? I remember the old one being really large and boxy, but I didn’t notice this one being different. Maybe because it is black I just didn’t notice or see it as clearly. EDIT: Rewatched and does appear to be much lower profile (sticks out less) compared to past one. Excellent upgrade! 🙌🏼

      Roughly 22" x 22" x 30". I'd recommend a trailer dolly to move it around for storage or at a flat campsite. It's liftable, but not too maneuverable by hand, especially with all these add-ons.

    still not a fan of the rounded design ... too many places where extra space is lost that could be storage or better paths for plumbing the water tank to the on demand hot water without ever needing to add a hose in font of one of your doors ...

    • @EscapodTrailers
      @EscapodTrailers  3 роки тому

      An understandable concern, but we have nearly no wasted space on our trailer. The routing of the plumbing for the water system was a strategic choice to keep the plumbing on the exterior of the trailer to protect it in the rare case that there's a leak.
