I've really come around to this channel. Used to think it was just a bunch of troll-y clickbait, but being a regular watcher for most of a year, I really like Josh's no-BS opinions, humility, and contagious love for everything having to do with all aspects of motorcycling. Keep the vids coming!
You were smart to have the front wheel installed by a pro. I had a bearing go south on my flat track bike, not fun. Looking good. And thanks for cutting up another Xs650, it helps my stock one go up up in value.
Glad to see all your hard work on your bike paying off! And don't feel bad about asking for help, there are few people who can do a project like that and know how to do everything by themselves.
One of the best and funniest motorcycle videos I've seen in long time; I feel your joy when you're finished(almost) with a project and take out your very illegal ride for a spin and terrorize the neighborhood ! Ha ha, I almost broke my stiches on my gut laughing. Keep up the damned good work and it's weird, but you are indeed an inspiration, my friend.
Great video. Bike is really coming together. The laugh is priceless. The joy you feel working on your own bike and it urns out better than you expected.
You have a good place to start now. Choppers aren't meant to be comfortable they just look cool and yours is starting to look cool. Some nice pipes and a good paint job will really make it . Good job.
Shadtree Surgeon, Great Job. You went for a ride on the XS Chopper. Oh my favourite thing you say, is Give it a whirl. My Dad used to always say that. 😊
That's cool . I am building a cb750 bobber. Slow going at this point. Keep running out of funds. You get what you get when you buy another's projects on the real cheap. I am talking 500.00 for some what a complete bike. Wires cut up, no wheel bearings,no brakes ,but I did get it wired enough to hear it run. Keep up the good work
Road a hard tail chopper for 2 years, as almost a daily. You will love the long distance ride but your body will let you know it hates you lol I've been waiting to see you get this thing rolling. Congrats man
Doesn’t matter what ya look like on the bike. It’s whether you can’t help but give it that extra look as you walk away from it! Glad to see you making progress on the old XS.
Nice job brother. I absolutely hate king and queen seats but you built it for yourself not for anyone else, especially me. Glad to see you follow through and get it on the road. Can’t wait to see the final, final look.
Absolutely out fucking standing. That's a real "chopper" home built with help from buddies who just get it!! Cannot wait to see how it's gonna look after tear down and paint.. As always, best wishes to you Jess and the shadetree army stateside.. Hope to visit FLA maybe next year, beers at the Shame is on my bucket list dude 🇺🇸👌
Hey Josh be proud dude that bike looks way cool and remember with all the friends that helped and professionals in the end you made that happen so I commend you my friend I just bought a 2014 Dyna St., Bob last week and begun my journey it’s been about 10 years since I rode took a day or so but man I got it down pat I watch your videos get all psyched and then ride into the wind anyway beautiful bike congratulations Shade tree surgeon
Two mates did hardtail XS 650’s with 6 overs back in the early 80’s and both bikes handled better than stock... You just need a thicker padded seat and back support that actually works(sprung seats suck hairy dog balls) maybe an Airhawk nah, a big pillow for long hauls and play with less air pressure in the rear till it feels right for you.
woohoo! can't wait for the hand shift foot clutch video!! wanted to do that to my xs650 forever but never quite got the wild hair to really look into how it's done. stoked to see how you get it accomplished!
Very happy with you build and brake line addition. You may want to secure that brake line to the front fork as it can catch on something. Can not wait to see paint job!
Awesome dude. Couldn’t see your face in the video but, I know you were grinning like a kid in a candy store. Glad that front end is safe. Finish it up and have a ball on it. 👍
Found some tweaker selling a 79 xs650 , he had no idea what he had it was all complete and original .. completely unmolested.. I ran the plate and vin on the spot, it wasn’t stolen. I bought it for $150 .. got home cleaned the carbs and it fired right up haha. Fucking win
Nice job. There is a sweet spot in my heart for XS-650s, I've had three of them. :-) Road a couple of them from Central Texas to Denver Colorado and back.
Awesome lol! I want a longer front end on my sporty and some tiller bars but I’m not sure how to mount the front brake lever/master cylinder. But that bike is cool as hell and looks comfy, just get a pack to lean back on and you will be able to ride it for days
What an amazing creation, you must be very proud, ive watched evry step, in between your other videos as we all have im sure, very inspirational for novices and experts alike. cheers from steve, uk 🇬🇧
shadetree surgeon i will always stick around and support the channel, you have a huge, loyal fan base from all over the world that feel the same. Good stuff.

Time to start marketing those shade tree surgeon motorcycle Riding gloves
He uses those for bull riding at the county Fair.
And Gardening... there great Multipurpose gloves.
@@wobblysauce his specialty is the devil's lettuce.
Sht yea if he did a bunch of with his logo I'd buy a few pairs those leather gloves are handy and comfortable
Are they the gloves that make you look like a heavy smoker if they get wet?
You were smart to have the front wheel installed by a pro. I had a bearing go south on my flat track bike, not fun. Looking good. And thanks for cutting up another Xs650, it helps my stock one go up up in value.
haha awesome
Yeah it’s probably worth a whole $2500 bucks now!
Schnot , turned down $6,000.
Timothy Price You should have taken the money and ran lol
Believe it was a already a cafe bike when he got it.
Nothing like seeing a pile of parts becoming a graceful creature of the road once again.
Real nice.
Glad to see all your hard work on your bike paying off! And don't feel bad about asking for help, there are few people who can do a project like that and know how to do everything by themselves.
I really feel "Maxo Relaxo" has got to be the name of that thing.
Looks awesome and great job!!! Slap a 70s style high metal flake paint on it and call it a day!!!
Love the metal flake paint style era.
Do they have that paint in Rustoleum?
That's awesome. Getting a kick out of you laughing while enjoying the experience.
That bike is begging for some upswept fishtails. I would build you some pipes but I'm just some random troll from internet space
LSX/ Mylife I was thinking the same thing

gratz.a work of such passion takes time.its been such a good learning experience for you and for the internet.thanks for sharing.
So awesome to see you scooting down the street on the chopper. I can not wait to see the final product. In as much as a build will ever be final.

Im more of a rip and run rider, but glad to see you finish a project you enjoy. Next stop, k5 gixxer.

Make the property value go down a bit haha 🤣 the ride looks (and sounds) bloody brilliant mate 🤙🏻

I AM A big big guy on a little Harley, I USE to be self conscious about it but now I think at least I'm riding
Damn straight dude!! Do your thing!
I feel the same way bro, people in cages may point and laugh but at least I'm enjoying myself and the ride!
BigSteve5467 remember, they're in cages, and you're free. Doesn't matter what they think. Ride on, brother!
@@ericweber1969 for sure bro, and they will never understand unless they get on a bike themselves
Road a hard tail chopper for 2 years, as almost a daily. You will love the long distance ride but your body will let you know it hates you lol I've been waiting to see you get this thing rolling. Congrats man
Technically it’s a 7 over. Although the tire is 2 inches taller, one of the inches is on the top.
I was Searching the comments to se edit there was anyone else who picked up on that. Yea definitely only 7 over.
The Japanese will give you about $10k for that bike. Great job man! These are very popular rn.
Yeah there's a big chopper scene over there right now. The bigger the better
Hell ya they will... I know a guy who ships containers over seas with bikes, they buy em up
It's ALIVE!!! Nice work SS, call it a big W. Keepin it weird.
Damn dude awesome , nothin sweeter than that project first ride
Literally the only thing I would change is the bars to some buck horns or mini apes. Killer job Shadetree
I’ve been binge watching your build like it’s a Netflix original! Love what your doing and can’t wait to see more keep it up dude 🤙
Doesn’t matter what ya look like on the bike. It’s whether you can’t help but give it that extra look as you walk away from it! Glad to see you making progress on the old XS.

Looks like a flipping blast! Those handlebars are wild!
Excited to hear that you're adding on the foot clutch and suicide shifter. That'll be so cool!
Dude !!! I'm excited for you man , victory is such a great feeling bro . I want to build a chop so bad !!!!!
"Speed bumps are a good place to test your welds..." Holy shit, that's funny.
Now it's time to get the Triumph chopper up and running.
Absolutely out fucking standing.
That's a real "chopper" home built with help from buddies who just get it!!
Cannot wait to see how it's gonna look after tear down and paint.. As always, best wishes to you
Jess and the shadetree army stateside.. Hope to visit FLA maybe next year, beers at the Shame is on my bucket list dude 🇺🇸👌
Every time you laughed while you were ripping down the streets, i chuckled a little myself!!!...lol!
I’m so darn happy to see you riding that thing it brings a tear to my eye. Be proud of yourself sir, you deserve it!
Got to admit... I was a skeptic .....

Time to Slammer to Alabamer
"Probably should have checked my front break works...." 🤣 Death or Glory dude! Good work on getting her rolling, keep it up.
GREAT view from the helmet cam! Very 60's/70's look. MY favorite part of the bike so far are those period correct triangular headlights!
Father shade tree finally getting her in the wind. Good for you bromochacho.

Grats Josh! Yet another step closer

Damn that looks good. Always loved this style. This bike is screaming for some some silver/gold leaf and bright metal flake paint. 70s style.
Love the series. Inspires me to keep pushing through my xs650 build
I’m going to be doing my own chopper build soon
woohoo! can't wait for the hand shift foot clutch video!! wanted to do that to my xs650 forever but never quite got the wild hair to really look into how it's done. stoked to see how you get it accomplished!
Hell yeah that a WIN WIN. Looking for to you making the trip up to Barbers. And the details fro the trip.
Psyched to see the finished build. Almost there!

Awesome bro! Love all the chrome. I know you’re proud to finally get it running. That’s gotta be a good feeling. I’ll get there someday
If you ask me, the property values went up! Cool bike!
Sick lookin ride but those bars would kill wrists like the chain steering wheels on low riders. Love the look of the dual triangle headlamps.
Very happy with you build and brake line addition. You may want to secure that brake line to the front fork as it can catch on something. Can not wait to see paint job!
Wooohooooooo! I'm sooo happy for you, you put a smile on my face when the machine started! Cool stuff dude!
Dude that bike is soo badass! Glad you keep doing awesome things like this!
Awesome dude. Couldn’t see your face in the video but, I know you were grinning like a kid in a candy store. Glad that front end is safe. Finish it up and have a ball on it. 👍

That looked like sooo much fun, nothing wrong ending on a win lol Excellent work by you and all your friends!
Hard work pays off, bike came out sick!
I like it, you are a lucky man! Try it with an ape hanger...but Bunny Ears...Crazy!
It's alive!! Well done Dr Shadetree!!
Quite an achievement there Sir, Congratulations!!

I might have missed a video but I’m loving the rabbit ear handle bars
That’s a nice build. Hope to see it in Orlando.
Love it, dude. Good to see it finally coming together.
Noticed in your vid , the back right side , your axel and tire moves when ya rev it , not safe but good effort ,
So happy for you bro! Can't wait to see it after paint.
Fantastic, well done Josh, so awesome to see this progress... love that you are chavving it up in ya MX lid on a chopper! :D 100% WIN :-)
