As someone who grew up agreeing wholeheartedly with the idea of women not leaning on the installation of weave tracks as their natural look, the full on switch to a synthetic hair-hat with the track glued onto the eyelashes feels like a middle finger. Brothers drew the line at the 90s Aestetic and previous eras. Universally, one of our favorite looks is the Poetic Justice and Microbraids look. Afro Diaspora women look great in braids period. The other day I remarked to my brother about how different the women looked on Martin, and Fresh Prince with their natural beauty and general fitness level. We miss the days when natural beauty meant we were asking for ladies to chill on relying on relaxers ["creamy crack" cuz it's almost impossible to quit].
Other cultures have no tolerance for wigs as a regular look unless a person is sick, elderly, or role/cosplaying... Wigs and bonnets are a personal deal breaker for me. My sister wears a wig due to her hair condition, and that's the only potential consideration I'd give to a mate. For the most part, it's uncalled for... And... Ladies need to stop conflating extensions with weave tracks, and wigs... It's not the same simply because the men say so.
