By far the most complete and best video on Mt. Pilatus. The opening map & explanation with times, was extremely helpful to our planning. Thanks you, Thank you!
As on today, the Alpnachstad -> Pilatus -> Kriens leg is offered a 50% discount with Swiss Travel Pass, which was covered 100% earlier. It costs 36CHF with Swiss Travel Pass now.
Looks nice. My dad had a friend who moved here and said even driving jobs pay well. (But bad dental for some reason) The folk music...Lol (Reminds me of my mom's accordion)
Hey, a quick question: Do we have to buy tickets in advance from the internet if we want to make that tour ? (I have a GA and my guest has Half-fare card.)
It's not necessary to make reservations. However, for the trips up the mountain wait times have increased over the last few years. A reservation system was introduced that allows you to skip the line. In other words, you're trading your own flexibility to go whenever you want, for reduced wait times. it's up to you to decide what you want. Personally, I'd prefer to not get reservations and just get up early to beat the masses to it. The Swiss Travel Pass is worth getting, particularly if you plan on relying primarily on Switzerland's excellent public transportation system. It's expensive (like everything in Switzerland), but all the trips up and down the mountains add up quickly, and with the pass you can just forget about getting tickets and go on pretty much any boat, train, tram or gondola.
Hi Raj! Mt Pilatus is open year round, but the cogwheel train only operates in the summer. So probably not open in March. I think it opens in May typically
Hi YellowS thanks for wonderful video...is it possible to go from Interlaken to Pilatus and back to Interlaken by evening. I am visitng in mid October this year...would cog wheel be running? STP or Swiss Rail PAss would cover this?
Hi Amit: The cogwheel railway operates from approx. beginning/mid-May to 18 November 2018. I think it's doable as a day trip from Interlaken... It will just be a really long day. It's 2 hours by train from Interlaken to Luzern station
Possible like twice the price that an average tourist spend for a nite in Switzerland, but when on already have thaken all the cost and effort to get to the country and up at that monutain, that extra cost would of that hotel would not ad many percent to the budget, like 3-4-5% ? ) It must be quite an experience to wake up with such a view)

Awesome alphakub!
I was their in 2010 . We did the boat took the cog and the cable car. Totally do the boat and the train.
Neat!
Is the bus ride back to Lucerne on a separate fare than the round trio ticket tour or a package?
Thank you for your useful videos! I used them for my Switzerland travel and it helped a lot!
Planning to take this trip. I think your video will make it easier to get around and know what to expect. Thanks!
Enjoy LadyD! I've been told this trip is no longer fully covered by the Swiss pass. So just be aware of that
@@YellowProductions Is it important to buy this as a tour in advance or can I buy tickets when I get there (11/15/19)?
I think you can buy tickets when you get there.. November shouldn't be a busy tourist season for this route
Super day and good weather ❤❤❤
Looks nice. My dad had a friend who moved here and said even driving jobs pay well. (But bad dental for some reason) The folk music...Lol (Reminds me of my mom's accordion)
I had a great experience there and it's the memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Great video, thank you! I will be going in two weeks ie July. Will it be cold at the top of the mountain?
Love your charisma!
Thanks Switzerland Insider!
That definitely looks like a lot of fun! That view at the top looks really cool!
It is pretty fun! And a neat view for sure!
Yellow Productions I did it a few years ago. It is really beautiful up there.
I did a video on the other way around and also did the boat ride which was great plus I walked the flower path!
So can I just get here myself without a tour as such ? And do I have too book all these in advance ?
Hey, a quick question: Do we have to buy tickets in advance from the internet if we want to make that tour ? (I have a GA and my guest has Half-fare card.)
Can you tell me how much is the cost with the Swiss pass?
Bro i appreciate your travel videos! You don't only provide information but entertainment as well :b

I used to live in Lausanne city, next to Burn. But it was about 25 years ago. I am waiting to go a Europe trip, may be in 2022.

Hi.. I jus checked from the Swiss travel pass website, that it is only 50% discount for mount pilatus.. not 100% free
That's an unfortunate change since the time I made this video
Pitt there are no prices on the video ☹️
when was this recorded?
June of 2017 -- wish I had more time to edit!

Those hotels on Pilatus cost an arm, leg, kidney and part of a liver for one night
That's expensive! :)
Switzerland is expensive
