That is about as good as it gets. That is a great song from Thom Bresh and I loved it the first time I heard it. Loren and Mark are great guitar players and when they play together it is amazing to hear and watch them.
This song explains it all as to why Thomb Bresh didn't decide to go by the name "Travis". BRAVO, Thom! You COULD have, but you dun decided to develop your own style (based on his dad's) instead of being the spoiled brat son of Merle Travis! We want MORE of that.
Second geetir must be a good old 50's Martin D-28, but what is the first geetir? SWEET! I've been wanting to learn this one for a while myself. Truly sounds like a chip off the old block, and you DON'T hear any of the whipper-snappers composing music like THIS. The younger generation may have it's good and even great players, BUT--- they can't tell you a story like "Vermillion" tells you. They are missing 30 or 40 years of inspiration, hard times, and hard work. TODAY--- it's ONLY because you were a spoiled brat that you had the opportunity to be a performing musician, not your music. It was your parents POCKETBOOK that put you there if that's the case, and that has a way of ruining the whole vibe. The way that a musician treats EVERYONE else around them is what matters, not if they think they are the shit because of how they play but yet never had to pay the bills. Yeah, you BETTER burn the strings off that thing, or what?
Loren and Mark.. Thank you. You guys make me proud. The guitars sound great..
Doesn't get much better than this!
Clean rendition
