Oh many try, they just aren't as down to earth as Eve and tend to think bigger and it can sometimes lead to rather undesirable results. I think that if you disintegrate them both the atoms won’t alone, after all she said she can’t technically make organic life on the level of even an animal even thou she has made food, so technically if you disintegrate her at a molecular level she won’t come back given the atoms would be to disassembled to reform her, also they said it was a mental block meaning if you destroy her head she won’t come back
@@ATalesTruth- you'd still have to disintegrate her before her powers can revive her. You also have to take into account that every time she revives herself, she comes back stronger than she ever was
@@FatherFoxtrot well every time she has died or close to death a good long while has passed to the point if you had the means you could disintegrate her before she revives, also she doesn’t grow more powerful every time she dies, it’s that when she is close to death the mental block is no longer there
And to add to that, Viltrumites get stronger the older they get. So if theoretically Eve could keep reviving him over and over again for 20,000 years he would be unstoppable
Her abilities are like cheat codes to reality. If fully mastered, I think they would make her the most powerful being in the entire Invincible comic universe.
@@redd-qh4xn not really familiar with that particular iteration of Scarlet Witch. But, judging by the, she's also probably basically immortal, so I'd wager a guess that yes, pretty much.

i love how eve doesn't just stop at flashy heroics. she helps the enviroment and assists those who are often left ignored. she expects no fame or parades or offerings or thanks, no government advantages or connections. she's essentially what a true hero should be
It comes off as much more authentic than her going to Africa like she did in the 2000s version. Granted, that’s exactly how anyone her age would first think of being a humanitarian starts from in that era, but in her modern retelling she’s shown helping out her community first in practical ways like as you’ve listed which also reflects the political landscape her story currently reflects.
Do Mark's mom, Debbie Grayson. She's not a superhero but she's one of the more important characters and a huge influence on Mark, she is to Mark as Jiminy Cricket is to Pinocchio.
@@Koolaid7799 She has a big effect on the overall story, Mark/Invincible as a moral compass and his brother Oliver when she decides to raise him as her own son. Debbie Grayson plays a bigger, more important role than her supporting character status would let on. Edit - She's kinda like Alfred...sorta.
You should've mention how her relationship with her dad progressed. Even as sexist as he was at the beginning, he recognized that his daughter was a strong person and had a heart to heart with her, telling her that she would be fine in space and not because she was with Mark but because of who she was and knew she would do great things.
@@noremac7216 That's something the TV show has a chance to elaborate on. It's been doing a good job at tying stuff together and expanding on smaller things so far.
she is one of the most powerful for sure. but she can still die if someone destroys her brain completely because she is dead after that and she can't use her powers at all she has to be conscious to use her power
@@allanngudu3172 I dunno, it seems like her powers have a failsafe. You can’t seriously tell me she consciously willed herself to be 20 again while dying of old age. I think if her head was destroyed her powers would still probably reconstruct her.
After reading the series i really think shes one of the best written female characters around. She doesn't turn every situation into an emotional battleground like stereotypical female comic characters. Shes understanding, and incredibly supportive. She also solves a lot of problems without fighting, which is great.
Eve, and also Mark's mother. I'm not sure how Mark's mother is written in the comics since I've never read the comics, and I bet she probably doesn't have a lot of "screen time" since she isn't exactly in the super hero'd group. But from the animation, I really do feel for her character and her struggles, and feel like she is a key role to Mark's growth, which otherwise if Mark were only raised by his father, things would have turned out differently.
I like Eve, because despite her trouble childhood, she never lost her way or her Humanity, even after what they did to her Mother. She understood the wisdom of Justice over Vengeance. Reminds of Naruto Uzumaki from the Naruto series.
Naruto was pretty screwed up by his childhood as well, although he did come out pretty good considering the fact that, according to most psychological studies, you can get pretty messed up by feeling like no one loves you as a child, and that was his childhood. Although, we saw that portrayed in other ways, his lack of morality, his distorted view of the world at 12, understandable anger issues, and confusion about sexuality. He never had parents to guide him in these feelings, so I think this is why he was so perverted. I have consistently noticed that, kids that are not too close to their parents, when they hit puberty, and they really have no one to guide them, they may appear perverted early on in puberty, and might have a higher chance of being perverted as an adult, rather than having healthy relationship with their sexuality, and being able to enjoy deeper sexual experiences rather than it being about self physical satisfaction. I know I'm kind of going on about naruto, it's just I don't feel like Naruto really can compare the same to eve, Eve, for one, had adoptive parents from the time she was a baby, and second, her birth mother, she didn't really have an emotional attachment to, even though she's the one who birthed her. Her emotional attachment was to her adoptive family, so that might explain a bit more of her balance. Nonetheless, it's still traumatizing, what she saw. Although, the thing about her taking things well when she has a love interest that turns out to be with another person, I don't think it's very realistic, I feel like it's following that thing about Western media that I really hate, idealized characters. This is something I love about anime and hate about Western media, is that protagonists are usually portrayed in An at least somewhat idealistic way in their behavior and mannerisms, like they are supposed to be a role model or something. I think this is why a lot of anime and other Eastern media bothers American parents so much, is because they tend to portray humans that behave in ways that are not ideal, because that's not the goal. The goal is to portray a real human being, with real emotions, and they are not at all by any stretch supposed to be a role model. I actually felt like I had a better sense of empathy and morality from watching characters act imperfect and human, rather than acting perfect and ideal in their behavior. This is because we get to learn where emotions come from, and we are automatically better people if we could also empathize with other people, despite their outward behaviors. I can see why you guys like eve, coming from a western perspective, but from my last Americanized perspective, she just seemed a little too idealized for me, I would prefer a character that got angry, because she was growing an emotional attachment towards this one person, and this whole entire time, things to not meet her expectations at all. It may seem immature, but I prefer to see realistic over ideal. This may not be realistic for all people, but I don't know about you, if you were getting psyched up about being with someone, and you created the whole entire plan about it, and you got emotionally invested in them, and got involved in your own ideas about how things should work, then it makes total sense to blow up about it. I don't mean necessarily blow up about them or towards them, but just be angry in general, because you didn't get what you wanted. This is a normal, human emotion, and I actually do wish I saw this more. I think the real problem is, and the past, It was defeated to female stereotypes of being hysterical, rather than feeding into the idea that we are humans, and we are in perfect, and sometimes you get caught up in our own ideas of what's happening, and what's best, and then when we see our plan fall apart, we have reality splash cold water in our faces, and it can be very shocking and or upsetting. I do wish to see this more in media, but from the angle of treating their characters as real human beings, rather than trying to make a perfect character or a stereotype
You'd think after the third time of Mark going missing she'd be like "Okay, I won't jump to conclusions until I see a body." At least no more than a year's worth of time.
@@noremac7216 we really don't know actually, we know that she start at year 4 and that's it, we never know if it's year 4 first, mid, or final month, one thing for sure is the relationship is less than 2 years

@@dg415 @D G Thats not true. She made herself productive while Mark was gone. In case you forgot, she went on a journey of helping people when she didn't want to be a hero anymore. Also, she managed the Invincible Inc everytime Mark was gone. She even did the most damage to Conquest, which gave Mark a chance to win. She also revived Mark. What more did you want?
I cant help but shed a tear when I read that panel with Mark quoting his dad during their fight "What will you have in 500 years?" Now that's some good writing.
I'm just glad that the show seems to be very close to finally getting Eve and Mark together. Amber is great and everything, her and Mark just could never work out long term. Mark seems to have to date a superhero cause no one else can really deal with their crazy schedules.
@@KeyIssues She's supposed to be boring. She's part of the 'normal' life Mark wants because of reasons he can't even fathom after the whole thing with his father. Like the whole college thing. He just went, I don't remember if they even bothered giving him a major or just said something like 'general studies'. She's more of a prop for Mark's character development, like nearly every normal person in the comic.
@@KeyIssues I don't think she's that bad, boring absolutely, but I get why she acted the way that she did, she's just a human. I also thought their breakup would be a lot worse in the comics. Lol
Am i the only one that is shocked by the eve s mother being used as a mutant maker?....this sparked me a new kind of feeling. I m still thinking about that image ...man ...it s haunting me...
After a couple-few times, you'd think that Eve's reaction to hearing that Mark is defeated and deceased would be much like Jaskier's, when hearing that Geralt has been eaten alive by a selkiemore, episode 4 of The Witcher: 'Eh... He's fine.'
Amazing. This comic ACTUALLY has a timeline, unlike all comics and mangas where time never moves forward unless time travel from bad/failed possible future.
"The Female Dr. Manhattan", glad someone other than me said it. I even designed a t-shirt after reading her origin comic, that's a combination of her symbol and Dr. M's.
@@NARUTO-wq3ky she never gets to be that powerful in the comics, probably because it would make everything too easy for the heroes. But she has the potential.
Sad realization- with Eve being essentially immortal, she will most likely outlive mark and their daughter :( the reverse of what his fear always was, that he would outlive her.
Looking back on the series, everyone gave Cecil too hard of a time. He did what he did because he had to compete with so many insane threats to earth...
Lying about Conquest was where I drew the line. I liked him in the beginning, then he started acting like Amanda Waller but I still made excuses for him. But after the Conquest part I just lost all respect. Did he really think that shit would contain him?! I though he was smart before that, but apparently he could be really fucking stupid.
Case in point, the ReAnimen. Cecil is disgusted by Sinclair's twisted experiment. But sees how it could be advantageous with the kind of threats he's up against. So he forces Sinclair to make ReAnimen for him. But instead of turning random people into ReAnimen without their consent, he turns soldiers who have died in battle and volunteered their bodies to be reanimated.
Interesting I just watched all of Invincible yesterday after not knowing it existed even though I'm a huge comic fan. I just watched all of your videos today to get some quick knowledge of the series.
I understand that unlike Dr. Manhattan, Eve's powers do have some form of limitation when it comes to matter manipulation (as it exhausts her and what not) but like... even with that I truly feel like they nerfed the living hell out of her. She is able to change matter from one state to another, she is a God by all means, she singlehandedly makes most of Africa a paradise, she could make all power in the world run on clean energy if given some time, she could erase nuclear waste from existence by changing it into a chicken dinner and she doesn't do most of these things and its honestly a shame. Let alone earth's problems, if given a few months or even years she could fix planets for the better by giving resources to the needy and whatever else.
I think they’re going to expand on that in the show. It looks super promising with her “hippie dippie find herself field trip”. She’s also shown to be architecturally savvy with her powers, She’s shown helping out her community and the second episode of season 2 has her building a new park for her community and getting backlash over not following building regulations.
She literally has the potential to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe yet always get sidelined. That's always the problem with characters like these, their powers are too powerful so they're limited to using it for simple things. I mean she could literally scramble the atoms of a person to kill them yet she doesn't. It's like if she doesn't have the creativity to use her powers like that
No its not that she isnt creative enough to use her powers a certain way, I just feel as though shes not written well enough to portray something more than what she is
@@kamariahrahmah6249 that probably effects her as a character to an extent but you have to remember that 1: she is not the main character of the series so is naturally not going to receive as much attention to writing as mark. And 2: while technically her powers would allow her to basically do anything, similar to Dr.Manhattan but to a lesser extent because his consciousness is not tied to any physical presence and exist outside of time and space, the problem is that she basically becomes a god character; and god characters are really hard to write and make interesting. It’s not very fun to read a story where some immensely powerful being fights the main character, and then gets turned into a balloon or something instantly without effort, it’s just doesn’t make for an interesting story. From what I have seen Atom Eve is an incredibly well written, unique, and well written character, the writers did a decent job ad walking the fine line of letting her use her powers, without it being too powerful; she is also still not the main character, and important one but not the main one. I would have liked to see her more permanently transform her surroundings during battles though.
*Takes shot, slams glass down* every time eve dies and she's "healed" it's actually her powers re-creating an exact duplicate of her. This meaning the original eve died during her first "healing", and every time after it was technically a new eve.
Wow, as someone who has never read the comic but loved the first season on Amazon, I have been binging your videos and never realize how deep the lore goes in this comic series. This just makes me excited to see where the show goes now because they haven't even scratched the surface of the lore yet.
Their relationship seems like a pretty good one. Especially for comics where these things tend to end and or be forgotten. Good to some well written comic characters not only have and end, but a good and fairly wholesome one.
@@sharpy5509 i think the writer just thought that part was weird, the main writer on the show was also a writer for the comics and he said that he's changing stuff cuz he thinks hes a better writer now
I was waiting for Eve’s video and I’m so happy it’s finally here! I love Eve’s character so much! She was so well-written and an amazing love interest/partner for Mark! Her personality and character are handled so well Ann’s makes her one of the best female characters in comic books! Thanks for another awesome video! 🥰❤️
Doing research all day since I watched it yesterday I have to say two things I really wanna see in the series are Thragg vs Battle beast and Mark/Invincible vs Conquest
There this one episode of invincible that talked about how eve’s parents were mad at eve because rexsplode could help protect her but after seeing this I’m just wondering why she needs anyone’s help.
She is just a real idiot when it comes to using her powers. When fighting anyone, she could just turn the air around them into carbon monoxide or knockout gas with a wide enough dispersal to KO them. Instead, she's making breakable 'hard air' energy swords against opponents that even make Omni-man hesitate and other stupid crap.
Essentially being immortal would make a strong case, but I think she could be killed someone did it fast enough. I think once her body literally dies its over.
@@KeyIssues But her powers can literally resurrect her after death and on top of that if she can also reconstruct organic matter she can literally destroy anyone or anything she fights.
She's *potentially* the most powerful, but a) her mental block limits her dramatically, and b) she still has human reaction time. Those aren't insurmountable obstacles, but they are pretty big. Arguably also her desire to live a "normal" life keeps her from realizing her full potential. It would have been cool to see alternate Eves from other dimensions (not the sexy clones, but Eves will full agency). I bet there's at least a few where she took over the world. Also she could easily have stopped Robot if she really wanted to, it doesn't matter how cool his new alloy is, she can still turn it into toothpaste with a thought. But she just wasn't written to be a problem solver. Mad respect for her doing good outside the costume, though. As much as I love her character it was kind of a bummer that she gradually became more and more ancillary to Mark's story- yeah, I know his name is on the cover, but that doesn't mean she should play second fiddle.
@@NevTheDeranged But I thought she broke her mind blocks after seeing her actual mother get killed in front of her. I agree with you on that like her powers and character make her so much more interesting than I really thought when I first heard of her.
@@Argos-xb8ek I think that meant more along the lines of she is capable of surpassing them but that does not mean they are gone. It may take her considerable effort to act without them, don't get me wrong though she is definitely very strong and the story seems to write her into a corner and I don't really like that.
My only problem with Atom Eve's character (edit: not the comic) is that it's unrealistic for her to just be an "ordinary" girl that no one pays attention to at school. Like bruh she's fine as hell even by comic book standards lmaoo. Its completely unrealistic in her world for her to be just an "ordinary" girl. She would be incredibly popular for how pretty she is.
@@LandwardPlague I wouldn't be suprised if Kirkman changed it. He is in charge of the animated adaptation and he said that he has grown alot as a writer since writing Invincible and he wanted to change some things.
Atom Eve has a really cool and very powerful well power set, I mean matter manipulation is already so strong on its own, so idk I feel like she should be way stronger than she is presented in the comics. Not that she isn't a total badass but I feel like she could've definitely been a lot more powerful and like actually the most powerful character, since she has powers similar to Marvel's Molecule Man. Hopefully since they've changed a lot in the tv show, they boost Eve more in the show.
After watching the first three episodes of invincible after not knowing about it whatsoever I went and bought all three compendium's and read them within a week but still after all that this video was still very interesting and I enjoyed it. Keep it up!
Wait... if her mental block was gone why didn't she try to revive her mom and the professor??? It would make sense that that would've immediately got in her mind
I'm legitimately surprised Mark didn't start wearing earplugs after the first time someone revealed his inner ear was his weakness. It's a bizarre omission from a series that typically really thinks shit through. Despite never finding the obvious solution to his one weakness, he still ends up essentially the God-Emperor of the universe. This is why monarchies are a bad idea.
I just noticed how show eve's costume is the same as comic older eve, which is more like a short covering a bit more leg. Which is funny since that villain said Eve was pandering gender norms, when her comic costume is more revealing 😂.
To me Eve should literally be the most powerful hero in the invincible universe Manipulation of molecular structures Immortality Flight Green lantern constructs She can manipulate the atoms of LIVING BEINGS Dude this is almost God level ability
That was one of my, if not all time, favorite moments in the series. Eve dying of old age and coming back to life. Shocked the hell out of me, but at the same time, I was like “duh!” She may very well be in my top ten superheroines. Just not sure where.
I feel like any form of immortality is a curse disguised as a blessing, because you would eventually live long enough to run out of things to live for, and then what? You can’t even die if you want to. I can just imagine Eve dying of old age for the hundredth time after outliving everything she loved, then her powers kick in and revive her again, and she’s just laying there like “God damnit.”
As a girl I truly love this character I’m just so happy such a powerful character was so well written somehow. She’s next to my fav female character Wanda. Also it’s rare for me to like super hero female characters but this one was just wow. Amazing personality☺️ it’s soooo hard to make an OP character interesting and somehow the writers pulled it off!
Eve is such an amazing character! They are doing her so much justice in the show. Its really gonna be a shame that she is gonna be sidelined eventually because I love her character and VA so much already. It was a joy reading the Invincible comics years ago and I'm definitely gonna have to pick them up again as the series continues. Thank you Amazon for finally bringing one of my favorite comics to life, and doing it soooo beautifully at that. And thank you Key Issues for reminding me why I love these characters sooooo much!
This was a great video. Atom Eve is one of my favorite characters from the Invincible Universe. Her powers are absolutely amazing and she does reminded me of a lot of different characters, like Marvel's Scarlet Witch, Sue Storm, DC'S Doctor Manhattan as well as a Lantern.
What if her aborted child inherited her power and revived itself then developed into a super power being with the mix of her and Mark powers. The goes back for revenge after finding out his origins and seeks her out
That’s one of the best superhero backstories I’ve ever heard!! I know Seth Rogan’s got an Invincible movie in the works, but I think we need an Atom Eve origin story to go with it.
Now that Season 2 is wrapped up, I have a few gripes with how Atom Eve was portrayed in the show versus the comic. A lot of the actual internal "I like Mark" stuff was pushed to the side to focus on Mark and Amber, which was a good change for the pacing of the second season. However, having old Eve say the exact same words she told Mark in the comic feels out of left field with how little context was shown in the show. I feel like the "I love you, Mark" moment could have been pushed back significantly farther, maybe even as far as the Invincible War, with Mark and Eve actually getting together after Rex's funeral and Amber being attacked later in the comic. Idk, im not a writer, just a small gripe I had with the show.
I agree, I think they'll expand on this seeming oversight in making Eve realise her crush on Mark as something deeper in the next season after they spend more time together and are more available to each other. I hope it was intentional to not show anything else between them, particularly Eve's stronger feelings for Mark other than the mutual attraction they still share but don't care to act on. They have some juicy internal drama to unravel with the characters still.

@@LionStaring yeah I see your points here.

Could've just said naruto dante XD
I wish you didn’t have to compare eve to Naruto talk no jutsu
@@juancervantes4341: Naruto it’s the best character that comes to mind to me.

So he forces Sinclair to make ReAnimen for him. But instead of turning random people into ReAnimen without their consent, he turns soldiers who have died in battle and volunteered their bodies to be reanimated.

That was so nice. Well said.
Interesting I just watched all of Invincible yesterday after not knowing it existed even though I'm a huge comic fan. I just watched all of your videos today to get some quick knowledge of the series.
She’s basically Jean Grey but without a different writer every issue having to adjust her power level from god tier to toad level.

It's wild watching the art styles change through the series in this video!
She literally has the potential to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe yet always get sidelined. That's always the problem with characters like these, their powers are too powerful so they're limited to using it for simple things. I mean she could literally scramble the atoms of a person to kill them yet she doesn't. It's like if she doesn't have the creativity to use her powers like that
She can't affect people unless she's near death
I think it's more that Kirkman doesn't know how to write her 🙃
No its not that she isnt creative enough to use her powers a certain way, I just feel as though shes not written well enough to portray something more than what she is
What “she.” It’s totally a limitation of the writers. She’s not fully actualized bcs she’s a “girl.”
I wouldn't say so, more like her powers making new healthier atoms from what she's lost basically healing her rather than her being a duplicate.
The whole time I was watching the show all I kept thinking was "why does Mark keep chasing Amber when he clearly has much better chemistry with Eve?"
I rather not have Eve date Mark, a guy and a girl can just be best buds dude

I just noticed how show eve's costume is the same as comic older eve, which is more like a short covering a bit more leg. Which is funny since that villain said Eve was pandering gender norms, when her comic costume is more revealing 😂.
To me Eve should literally be the most powerful hero in the invincible universe
Manipulation of molecular structures
Immortality
Flight
Green lantern constructs
She can manipulate the atoms of LIVING BEINGS
Dude this is almost God level ability
I edited this comment so the replys make no sense.
😂😂🤣🤣 good one.
I didnt see that one coming

Ohh.... Do you mean RALPH BOHNER
The atom eve special preview highlighted her backstory PERFECTLY
thank you. Atom eve special episode came out today and it was like they based it on the comic book hence your video. Thank you again!
That was one of my, if not all time, favorite moments in the series. Eve dying of old age and coming back to life. Shocked the hell out of me, but at the same time, I was like “duh!” She may very well be in my top ten superheroines. Just not sure where.
You cannot tell me they didn’t just draw DaBaby 5:25
😂😂🤣
I really like how this series has some unique story lines. Keep up the amazing work.
"Admitted to a school of gifted youngsters"... Led by a professor in a wheelchair, i cant be the only one that instantly thought of that.
Everyone is a man on the internet until proven otherwise.
@@titaiao Dude, it's not friggin 2006 anymore. Chicks are just as common as guys on the nets nowadays.
SAME! I thought eve was SO cool & thought her and Mark were such a good match lol I can't wait for S2!!! 🥰

Ya'll should do Multi-Paul, Dupli-Kate's slightly crazy twin brother. Lots of casual fans of the show don't know about him and their curse.
Atom Eves costume and design is like Mj , Starfire and Raven (teen titans cartoon) in one.
It's beautiful that Mark found a partner who can even outlive him, I'm sure Omni Man would be proud.
Who's here after the latest episode of her backstory?
Thus was a man who had made UA-cam videos and was good at it

Eve is such an amazing character! They are doing her so much justice in the show. Its really gonna be a shame that she is gonna be sidelined eventually because I love her character and VA so much already. It was a joy reading the Invincible comics years ago and I'm definitely gonna have to pick them up again as the series continues. Thank you Amazon for finally bringing one of my favorite comics to life, and doing it soooo beautifully at that. And thank you Key Issues for reminding me why I love these characters sooooo much!
Who knows the original writer says he is gonna change things in the show because he says he is a better writer now than before
I see key issues i click , simple as that
This was a great video. Atom Eve is one of my favorite characters from the Invincible Universe. Her powers are absolutely amazing and she does reminded me of a lot of different characters, like Marvel's Scarlet Witch, Sue Storm, DC'S Doctor Manhattan as well as a Lantern.
Watching all these videos and realizing how much more awesome the show is going to get
What if her aborted child inherited her power and revived itself then developed into a super power being with the mix of her and Mark powers. The goes back for revenge after finding out his origins and seeks her out
I've never thought of this! But unfortunately, the comics already ended years ago.
Somebody call the maker. I just found the newest addition to their writing team.
Wouldn't be possible because Viltrumite genes are ridiculously dominant. That child is dead.
technically eve could outlive mark and even her daughter with that instant respawn ability given enough centuries
Which is kinda dangerous. Every immortal in the series ends up psychotic
Technically when she’s at death’s door she can make her family younger as well
@@wilfred5820 oh shit

The entire community wants mark and Eve to be together and Amber chapter to be over 😂
I agree, I think they'll expand on this seeming oversight in making Eve realise her crush on Mark as something deeper in the next season after they spend more time together and are more available to each other. I hope it was intentional to not show anything else between them, particularly Eve's stronger feelings for Mark other than the mutual attraction they still share but don't care to act on. They have some juicy internal drama to unravel with the characters still.
