It's like these actors cared about their roles and impact on the culture. Instead of endless brow beating and lectures about everything Hollywood is the biggest hypocrite these guys are bringing people together to share nostalgia. A show. Childhoods. Life lessons. I have to agree with you,...The Transformers started over in Japan, with that said, much respect to the original! But, I once seen their version of Optimus Prime (or Convoy as he called in Japan) man, ... it's a really big difference, when your use to Peter's voice, and then hear a very light Japanese voice,... sorry to say this, but Convoy just sounded so weak! Again, I love Japan for The Transformers, but they should have flown Peter over there to do Convoy"s voice, the only issue is,...does Peter know how to speak Japanese? Still great point, G1 all the way!

They used vocal processing in the original G1 series. Soundwave's raw is Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget. What we hear in the series is through the vocoder synth.

It is so amazing that Peter has been considered for voicing Optimus in the movies as well, I remember when he voiced Optimus in the cartoons, it’s just absolutely incredible.

"Vocoder" was the word Frank was looking for. A keyboard which adds musical pitch to whatever input you give it - in this case Soundwave's voice.
Frank normal voice is his Fred from scooby doo
Kai's Otaku Corner he also did Iceman on Spiderman and his amazing friends in the 70s. It was more like his normal voice.
And also Blades from the Protecto Bots, Ray Stantz from The Real Ghostbusters, and so many others. The man of a thousand voices (and probably a thousand sound FX). Frank is a VO legend. Peter is too! Venger from Dungeons and Dragons, Eeyor from Whinny The Pooh, and Puss Puss from PAC MAN, and so on.
Don't forget Frank Welker voiced Dan Aykroyd's Dr. Ray Stantz on the cartoon The Real Ghostbusters.

G1 will always be the GOLD STANDARD! From the theme song, to the voices, to the animation, to the story. Peter and Frank really glued it together. I'm glad they have lived long enough to see this legacy grow and impact the world the way it has.

Yes, my house's door is a gate..... my dad is a 47 year old American transwoman who has been a transgender for 5 years and she worked as a traffic checker at a public transportation that I ride a lot when going to different places and I lived between 2 train stations. My dad's favourite Cybertronian from Transformers G1 is Prowl. My whole family was killed in a home invasion and I live in a most crime-filled neighborhood in Philadelphia and yet some of my other family members lived jn differenet neighborhoods and different houses but the republicans got to them as well. But I am lucky to repair my gatedoor and I am lucky that my friends who are adults and seniors along with a teenaged friend who is 4 years older than me had helped me cope with a lot of changes. My birthday had passed already and it was January 11th this year. Lucky my friends had helped me out and I remember that I was abused in Foster care/DHS/Department of Human Services' Custody, I also remember being bullied in traditional schools and ever since I was 9 years old, I suffered from Cold Hard Heart Syndrome but ever since I was 4 years old, suffered a head injury that resulted in epilepsy for me, i jad stopped taking thr medicine for my epilepsy because of the side effects...... Emily MoonSun, a 67 year old German woman who is a retired nurse had diagnosed me with Cold Hard Heart Syndrome. Cold Hard Heart Syndrome is a very rare health condition that falls between mental health problems and physical health problems. Because of some of tje symptoms being physical and some being mental. 1 time, I was asleep and my Cold Hard Heart Syndrome made my elderly friend Larry Cullen thought I was having a heart attack and so he did CPR on me but then I woke up and told Larry Cullen about my Cold Hard Heart Syndrome and he said "ok. I didn't mean to panic like that. I was just concerned about you, Catie." So I had dealt with lots kf things and such. My mom was 52 years old and had no job because of some jobs hating a diabetic working and have lack of mobility due to weight. My dad had scoliosis, a backbone health condition ever since (s)he was born, my mom developed diabetes after she gave birth to me on January 11th 2006...... I am pretty fine without my family since my siblings were complete jerks and perverts, well, my brothers were perverts while my sister is a jerk, but 1 of my 2 brothers is a jerk... my 2 brothers were the reason why I was put into Foster care 9 years ago. Now I have my friends, my real trustworthy friends, I had so many fake friends before and I just yeeted those fake friends out of my life knce I found out about thekr behaviors towards me and my family.... real good trustworthy friends are better than fake friends, am I right?...

Simply amazing! These two have a synergy that just can't be matched, both on, and off the set. One of the few instances the person makes the character. Same with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill; no matter how much time passes and who gets the future roles, Optimus and Megatron will always be Peter and Frank respectively =03.
That comes if you work together for over 30 years because your characters just won't stop fighting
Gosh, Peter Cullen is still easily recognizable when he speaks normally, but I really have a hard time associating Megatron (especially the Transformers Prime version) whith Frank's natural voice. He sounds totally different, it's crazy!
It’s crazy to me how frank can change his voice so much and be able to consistently pull off speaking in that way. It has to cause a lot of strain on his voice especially speaking in louder tones.
For those who are fans of the original VOLTRON, Peter Cullen is the voice of their general.
As someone who grew up with the live action Transformers, Transformers and even Transformers animated, I would have killed to have Peter Cullen’s voice in the new Voltron. I loved Voltron 2016 with my entire heart, and Peter Cullen has a god of a voice. Imagine my happiness if he was in the new Voltron.

These guys have so much chemistry as friends and colleagues. They can handle a live show very well, both very interesting, informative and funny.
They're bad-ass and still passionate for their work, honestly better than most celebrity interviews.
Not only are they two of the best voice actors ever. But they seem like great people too.
Joe Ruby and Ken Spears first cast Peter Cullen and Frank Welker in 1979 in the title roles of Mighty Man & Yukk. Later, they became Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively in the original Transformers series. Ruby and Spears, at first, had no idea how huge Peter and Frank would be in the animation industry in the 1980's. As far as animation voice-over industry's top go to men for each decade, Don Messick and John Stephenson in the 1970's as well as Jim Cummings and Rob Paulsen in the 1990's- Don, John, Jim and Rob were Peter and Frank's co-stars in the original Transformers TV series.

What more can u say about these two men? Peter cullen has contributed his incredible voice acting talents to so many of my favorite animated characters, from the Red skull, to Venger from Dungeons and dragons he did additional voices to many others characters from that show, also he did a WONDERFUL job on the very first gijoe cartoon by doing the strong and pulse pounding voice to the mountain of muscle slave Ramar and Dr. vandemeer. And also one of many favorite performances by him is his stunning and cool as ice voice he gave to my favorite character off the Gijoe animated movie, Nemesis enforcer!!! And also the equally gifted Frank welker has also done so many of my other favorite animated characters. Iceman, also worked on the animated tv show Dungeons and dragons,Superfriends, Gijoe and also Frank even did an educational commercial lending his amazing voice talents to a cat by the name of Capt.o.g remoore. 🎶 I'm Capt o.g. remoore im a reading kind of cat,read a book like me and you'll soon agree that reading is where it's at 🎶. Memorable song that Frank sung as the character of that cat. Thanks to these two great me for giving me the best moments in cartoon history!!! They don't make voice actors like these 2 men anymore!!

Absolute legends.. how effortlessly they did those drastic voice changes blows my mind
Peter and Frank made me into the person I am today... There voices was the first thing I heard when I turned on the TV and tuned in on Sky, with DJ the Cat, and Linda de Mol, before I had to go to school. Learned a lot of morals from Prime, being honost and caring, but Megatron taught me how to stand up for myself and really speak my mind when needed.
I'm really glad I grew up with G1 Transformers. Born in 1981 myself.
I'm 38 now, almost 39, and I still love the show, watching it still.

Since I was a sound nerd back in the mid or late 90's, the technique Frank Welker was trying to remember is 'vocoder'. I wanted to learn how to do Soundwave's voice back then. I would say that I wished they kept it for the movies but I really don't care for Micheal Bay's take on it. I hope someone can reboot the movies and do it in the 80's style of the original show.
