So a few questions after watching. Those conducting the decon must be at the same level of PPE or a level below. The brushes being used are spreading areound the contaminants without the use of rinsing and or spraying. “This shouldn’t be that bad” is a misstatement when in the decon zone.
How much does a suit and equipment cost? Im guessing alot but im starting to think it might be a good investment... Edit I think level A or B after finishing the video.
it really depends on what you're trying to defend yourself against. But a PAPR will run you $1,400 bucks for just the head and blower, no filters. If you need an SCBA unit, Avon sells the ST53 which combines Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) with Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for like 4-6k USD.
@@fico8400 for a civilian, you'll need at most a level 3/4 coverall (like the one in the vid), full face respirator, boots, gloves, and filters. The level 3/4 coverall can be reused somewhat with decon, and they cost somewhere between 30-60 dollars each. The respirator cost anywhere between 100-400 dollars. More expensive ones have more "nice to have" features: voice diaphragm, mounting points for voice projection units and alternate visors (laser safety, anti-glare, smoke lens, impact-resistant), drinking tubes, etc ... though protection-wise they are the same as cheaper ones. Boots cost around 50-100 and gloves around 30-60.
Everyone should have this training, the future looks hairy!
Well as a civillian Id just recommend a gas mask with a few spare filters
And yes you are right now it is a very hairy situation with this virus smh ⚠️
You don't know how right you are
Dont know how you guessed that right
@@fico8400 yeah, but it's useful to know how to strip of your contaminated clothing correctly.

Perfect for going shopping for dinner at whole foods...
When does he take scba off? Green zone? Assisted or by himself? Off gas first??
Interesting video
Hmm

Level A new would cost about $1200 for a good one and level B suit would cost around $450- $950
U dont really need one as a civillian I would recommend a gas mask with a few spare filters and maybe a surplus nbc suit
