Phil Mitchell is the number one cliff hanger only reason being is because he's survived the longest and has beaten up more thugs than any other hard man but this doesn't make him the toughest, Grant on the other hand has proven to out toughen Phil on several occasions. Grant also took Dennis Rickman without even oozing a single drop of sweat, as in he didn't break a sweat whilst he downed Dennis, he downed him no problem. Phil actually got a knockout punch from Dennis earlier in the series (of course this was by a lucky punch) however it still proves Grant is a lot tougher. Grant should be number 1.
My all-time toughest hardmen list. This list also involves extra characters as well. 1) Grant Mitchell - set in stone, king of the hardmen no doubt, toughest to ever set foot in the square. 2) Phil Mitchell - The shows most longest running hardman, Phil in his prime was a beast, any one who says Dan Sullivan is harder than Phil just because of the gripping against the wall confrontation is wrong, has a cracking left hook, and has punched at least half the other hardmen, an EE legend. 3) Dennis Rickman - Knocked Phil out on his first appearance, took on The Firm and beat many of their henchmen in a fight, also killed London gangster Jack Dalton, and had good boxing skills and a short fuse. 4) Vincent Hubbard - One of my favourite characters in the show at the minute, he's in great shape, got a good punch, has fast reflexes, and possibly one of the physically strongest hardmen in all soaps, hopefully he has more fights in the future so we can discuss him more. 5) Phil's Thug who battered Vincent - When Vincent floored the first guy it was kinda like a 1 v 1 fight and the other thug beat him with ease, he seems like a great fighter with a cracking punch, strength, speed, and technique, can't see anyone below this list beating him and obviously we can't judge much due to him being an extra character, I rate him below Vincent because i think he would lose against him if it was 1 v 1. 6) Mouse - The only time we saw Mouse was when Billy got him to beat up Trevor Morgan, so can't judge much because he's an extra character but I think all would struggle against him, even Grant. 7) Jack Branning - Ex copper with fighting experience and also one of the only few who have knocked Phil unconscious, about equal to Sean and knows what to do in a scrap.8) Sean Slater - Pretty much nearly the same as Jack, but with army training instead of old bill experience, Sean also had a short fuse and reassembled Dennis in many different ways. 9) Dan Sullivan - Very overrated and didn't fight much so hard to judge, he's KO punch to Phil is easily one of the best punches in EastEnders, but bear in mind that Phil was distracted by Mel turning the light off and didn't see the attack coming, great strength and size but besides Phil never really did fight any one as tough as him/his own size. 10) Clyde Tavernier - Walford's well known boxer, great fighting abilities and respected by both Phil and Grant, has thrown some good punches and when he was in top form and shape, he easily makes it into the top 10. 11) Angel Hudson - Don't think there's any evidence of him fighting on UA-cam but apparently he beat the living day lights out of Paul Trueman and was a well known gangster. 12) Mick Carter - If your surprised I haven't put Mick in the top 10 well it's because he's extremely overrated and he's only beaten Dean Wicks and Neville Peacock who are both probably around 26-28 on the list, I do like Mick but I don't think he's as tough as he makes out to be and needs to fight more against characters like Grant and Vincent to prove he is worthy of the top 5, until then he's staying below 10 for me. 13) Tony Carpenter - Great strength, aggressive, violent when he needs to be, and someone not to mess with. 14) Jase Dyer - He had a lot of guts, wasn't scared of anyone, took on Terry Bates and his firm and had brawn as well as brains, he knows when to fight and when not to fight and will only fight when necessary. 15) Andrew Cotton - Absolutely huge bloke, was a bouncer and had a very violent temper, looked like he could crush many with his bare hands. 16) Paul Trueman - Battered his brother Anthony and gave Garry Hobbs a good brawl, also had a fight in the cafe some of us have heard about, and was involved with gangster Angel Hudson. 17) Beppe Di Marco - Had some long good scraps when he was present, had great reflexes and managed to damage Grant in a 1 v 1 fight, has took many of beatings but like Jack, being an ex copper also gives him experience. 18) Gianni Di Marco - Mostly all mouth and picked on the easier odds but great size and strength and liked winding people up, managed to scare away about 5 yobs just by walking near them. 19) Lucas Johnson - Psychopath with a screw loose, murderer, and absolute nutter, but also had a great punch, reflexes and seemed like he'd give Phil a good brawl. 20) Jake Moon - Also had a screw loose and could hold he's own, gave Sean a fair fight and of course saved The Mitchell Brothers from brother Danny. 21) Martin Fowler - Ever since the new actor came in his solidified himself a lot and has been very impressive as a hardman, has a great punch and with sheer strength and size even Phil would struggle against him. 22) Derek Branning - Brilliant character with a good fighting style, more of a wheeler dealer than a gangster, even though he was out of shape you can tell he's been in plenty of fights and feuds. 23) Max Branning - Also a brilliant character, weakest of the Branning Brothers but has thrown some of the shows best punches, shame you don't see him fight often. 24) Andrew "Buster" Briggs - Could potentially be a lot higher on the list if he was younger, I think he was exactly like Phil and Grant during middle age, only punched Dean and Mick so hard to judge he's fighting ability yet, hopefully he punches Gavin Sullivan on Friday! 25) Trevor Morgan - A woman beater but also hit a couple of men as well, even if they were Billy and Garry, very aggressive and has a short fuse. 26) Bird Meadows - Looked like a nutter and always willing to give a beating. 27) Adam White - Shame he was only a short time character, looked like he would give a lot of fight and managed to deck Max. 28) Aleks Shirov - Another hardman who done boxing and kept in shape, he beat up Adam White off screen but with the help of some tough boxers so rate him below Adam. 29) Ray Dixon - Shame he never fought with anyone besides Jack and Michael but he seemed to be pretty good at boxing and was in great shape. 30) Jake Stone - Only slammed Aleks against the wall but could have been a great character, his alter ego Warren Fox in Hollyoaks would easily reach the top 5 in this list. 31) Carl White - Another great character with potential and never actually fought on screen as him beating up Peter Beale was off screen, but scared Joey and squared up to Mick which you have to give him credit him for. 32) Charlie Cotton - Only battered Ben but had great potential, you can tell he wasn't a push over, stood up to Phil but got battered by Vincent. 33) Den Watts - Very overrated and was more brain than brain, wasn't a bad fighter but was old and used intelligence and weapons to win fights instead of actual physical force. 34) Andy Hunter - A great character and leader of the firm but has only punched Alfie and Ian who are nowhere near hard, should have fought tougher characters, plus got battered by The Firm himself. 35) Lee Carter - Started off a hardman, being potentially the next Sean with the army experience, but has mellowed down now and has missed 3 punches in a row. 36) Brad Williams - Firm Member years ago, battered Darren Roberts and gave that random bloke a punch in the gut, even though more hard mentally than physically. 37) Masood Ahmed - Postman with a vicious punch, can handle himself but had some really silly defeats like when Ozzy Fletcher punched him. 38) DS Cameron Bryant - Only punched Max but I think he is a potential hardman and being a copper he probably knows how to defend himself. 39) Joey Branning - He came in the show as the next Dennis Rickman but then calmed down abit and left after about a year, could have been higher if he stayed longer. 40) Tyler Moon - Him and Joey are pretty much the same in toughness, even though Tyler was a boxer he easily got owned by Derek afterwards. 41) Kush Kazemi - Not a hardman but did pretty good against fight with Martin, hasn't really done anything else Besides throw Dean against the wall. 42) Ryan Malloy - Not really a hardman but could handle himself and beat Nick Cotton and Rob Grayson, got humiliated by Lucas though. 43) Rob Grayson - Rob was no joke, he battered Fatboy and gave Ryan a fair fight, also very manipulative and aggressive, but Ryan killed him and plus I couldn't see him beating anyone above. 44) Steve Owen - Usually rated higher but can't see him beating the above, an average fighter. 45) Johnny Allen - Walford gangster, had Dennis killed and used to box but him himself was too old to throw hands with anyone at his age, even though he got one in on Phil, would be higher if he was younger. 46) Mark Fowler - Had some good punches and wasn't scared to stand up to people, also managed to punch Phil. 47) Alfie Moon - Has thrown some very weak punches against Andy and Derek, only good punches were on Jack and Minty, and doesn't fight hardly at all. 48) Garry Hobbs - At the very bottom of a hardman I'd say, but surprisingly had a great punch but was seen as a wimp at most times. 49) Minty Peterson - Apparently started out as a hardman but then became a punching bag, was battered by Andy's henchmen and easily intimidated by Dennis and Phil. 50) Peter Beale - Gave that Dean bloke a cracking punch and keeps in shape but was battered by Carl, and he's fight with Dexter was the worst soap fight ever.
51) Steven Beale - We haven't seen much of him but now he's returned hopefully he'll fight a bit, great start with him grabbing that photographer 52) Jay Brown - Did boxing when he was younger, dropped Max and punched Dexter, even though he got stabbed by Tegs and beat up by Linzi's Brothers, he will be a lot higher when he grows older, 53) Ben Mitchell - Same as Jay, he will grow on the list as he progresses, he's been beaten and bruised, and Phil is his dad so eventually both him and Jay will make it up there. 54) Dean Wicks - I actually thought Dean could be tougher than we thought he was, he managed to punch Ben and get a punch in on Mick, also headbutted Sean, if they built his character and had him in more fights, he could have been higher. 55) Rodney Bragg - When he attacked Jay with his other brothers if it had been 1 v 1 I think both Jay and Ben would beat him, can't judge also as he was an extra character. 56) Danny Moon - Absolute nutter but not actually tough, was thrown around easily and needed a weapon to win fights. 57) Dexter Hartman - Only punched his dad Sam and had the worst fight with Peter, heard he used to be in a gang so he could be harder then we think. 58) Owen Turner - Another woman beater but very difficult to rate as he grabbed Lucas' arm and punched Kevin. 59) Nick Cotton - Not tough at all, beaten by almost everyone, got some punches in but never actually beat someone hard, I do like him though. 60) Mike Swan - That punch he got on Keith looked like he done some boxing but don't know much about him. 61) Mickey Miller - Don't know much about the character but not tough from what I've seen. 62) Billy Mitchell - I think potentially Billy could be higher as he floored a 6 foot 5 police officer with a cracking punch, but most times has backed down and is seen as a wimp. 63) Michael Moon - Never did anything physical besides strangle Janine, everyone practically battered him, but very hard mentally. 64) Beale The Squeal - Owned by pretty much everyone, weakest in the square, has had some good moments but overall is just at the very bottom, can't believe he used to do boxing lol! Honourable mentions go to: Charlie Slater, Tom Banks, Pete Beale, Eddie Royal, Jason Cox, Nigel Bates, and Fatboy.
+Jake Moon Yes please mate I would love that :) I've always wanted to do a video myself but I can't due to minute upload restriction, if you've got the time then thank you mate :) I'm guessing you'll do the video in separate parts like your hardmen video? BTW did you read the link to the spoiler article of Ben I gave you on my Ben Vs. Dean video?
Ian's dad Pete is seriously the most underrated hardman ever, he's never on these lists but he was seriously tough. I would actually go as far as to say that physically he was tougher than Den.
@@stemple11100 my toughest from the 80s would go 1) Barnsley, top dog in Dickens Prison and could multiple people with ease. 2) Tony Carpenter, not violent but the guy was naturally strong and did beat Firm Henchman Beresford. 3) Pete Beale, opposite of weasel son Ian. 4) Brad Williams, Firms hired muscle beat crap out of Darren Roberts and was seen beating up someone else. 5) Frank Butcher, decent punch and would front up to anyone. Son Ricky also has bottle but is really weak. 6) Den Watts, good mix of brain & brawn. 7) Quennie Price, camp as Christmas but still pretty tough. One of the toughest in Dickens Prison 8) Nick Cotton, showed some good skills around this time but became much more inconstant later on. Did beat Mark on a few occasions though and is the only person to do so besides Phil. 9) Mark Fowler, 2nd one was much tougher but this one was handy enough. 10) Andy O'Brien, decent fight with Nick and tackled some guy robbing Arthur. Honourable Mentions: Arthur Fowler, Simon Wicks, Colin Russell.
Clyde Tavenier was one of the shows hardest characters IMO, a proffesional boxer who was even respected by the Mitchell's for his fighting ability. Den Watts cellmate Barnsley was also a hard man who frightened the inmates of Dickens Prison. Also, despite his most famous scene involving Grant Mitchell beating him to a pulp Eddie Royal was also respected by Albert Square residents for being tough. Weeks after getting out of hospital after being attacked by Grant he successfully defended The Vic from a group of trouble makers who was causing trouble for The Vic regulars and was seen as being tougher than Pete or Frank.
Clyde was the boyo like! Kept himself to himself, but could have a proper do when it came down to it, nd yeah the Mitchell's defiantly knew Clyde was one of the lads, Grant and Phil knew what he could do, game as a badger and never a bully!
1. Grant Mitchell 2. Phil Mitchell 3. Dennis Rickman 4. Dan Sullivan 5. Steve Owen 6. Mick Carter 7. Jack Branning 8. Den Watts 9. Sean Slater 10. Johnny Allen H. Mentions: 1. Andy Hunter 2. Gianni di Marco 3. Paul Trueman
Phil is every in is character he's hard, bully, a villain, a woman beater, businessman, physicho path, scrooge, mean, angry, most punched and some times get hated but best actor on eastenders.
No, I'd say that Phil was pretty much on an even keel with Dan,(bearing in mind that Dan was 5 years younger than Phil) but Phil's continued dominance over the last 20 years gives him a higher hardman status in the top ten list, for me anyway. I think Dan vs Phil would be not one sided in Dan's favour but even. Phil showed he could move pretty fast himself when he moved deftly aside to avoid Dan's punch in the Arches, when Dan had the gun.
Grant ragdolling people never gets old. An absolute force of nature and could do psychotic better than any here. Sean and dennis come close second for being unhinged. Taking on 5 feds with his fists and head was an all time classic. Phil takes 1 due to plot armour and length of service to the show and had a bit of explosive one shot power for a short guy. His one hitter left hook quitter and that bodyshot are savage.
Fights I would like to seen or see. Andy hunter vs steve owen, grant mitchell vs dennis rickman, Beppe vs gianni, johnny allen vs den, sean vs dennis, joey vs tyler, david wicks vs alfie, bradley branning vs deano, lucas vs nick cotton, bradley vs jamie mitchell, ray vs sean, dan sullivan vs grant, dan sullivan vs ray,ray vs beppe. beppe vs max branning, gianni vs jack branning, derek vs mark fowler and jake moon vs gianni. Now I reckon these would be good fights.
@Danny Moon and dennis i think we never really seen dennis at his propa best fighting wise until he battered johnny allen so i think his skills would keep him out of hospital.
Andy pinning Eddie on the wall was apart of apart of the Andy Hunter Revealed documentary Jack handcuffing max was on the 30th October 2008 and if your on about the first kick he done, it was from a video from 1996, cant remember the exact date
The top four are indisputable. Some may argue Grant should be number 1, but as Phil has seen much more action since Grant left, Phil holds the number 1 spot for me. The Mitchell brothers will never be equalled or surpassed as Walford's top hardmen!
Yea phils there for his sheer duration and feuds alone. Obviously 1v1 many on this list can “take” him but thats not all that makes a hardman. The anger the menace the package. Its why fraggle old man den watts is here he has a certain edge to him.
Great list. Anything other than Phil Mitchell at number 1 would have been a joke. At one time or another he's dropped people with that left hook - Dennis Rickman, Den Watts, Dan Sullivan, Steve Owen, Johnny Allen etc. He's fought absolutely everyone, no one has a legacy that comes close. Yes, he took on some bums too like Ian Beale, Billy Mitchell etc, but dealt with them with ease. His style is ferocious, like a white Mike Tyson. Grant Mitchell rightly number 2. I think he might beat Phil in a 1 on 1 encounter, look at the way he handled Dennis Rickman with ease. That being said, Phil has a greater list of opponents so he takes number 1. Would love to see the Mitchells reunited and running things again. Enders ain't enders without the 2 baldies running the show.
1. Grant Mitchell2. Phil Mitchell 3. Vincent Hubbard4. Dennis Rickman5. Sean Slater6. Jack Branning7. Dan Sullivan8. Lucas Johnson9. Beppe Di Marco 10. Paul Trueman
1. Grant Mitchell 2. Jack Branning 3. Phil Mitchell 4. Johnny Allen 5. Dennis Rickman 6. Nick Cotton 7. Mark Fowler 8. Max Branning 9. Sean Slater 10. Derek Branning 11. Den Watts 12. Paul Trueman 13. Gary Slater 14. Dan Sullivan 15. Steve Owen
I disagree with this video. It's difficult to tell sometimes who's hard cus some of them were just gangsters more than hard men,.I'd say the list goes more like this (with explanations): 1. Grant - Without a doubt. He's just pure aggression 2. Either Phil or Dan sullivan. Dan outmuscled Phil once and knocked him clean out. Having said that, Phils hit nearly everyone in Eastenders, has taken some beatings, been an alcoholic, a crack addict, several car crashes, a heart attack, shot and beating up by his brother. Plus he has brains and has resisted a lot of fights, he also knows a lot of people, unlike Dan. These 2 never had a proper fight so its difficult to tell who's harder. 3. Dennis Rickman 4. Shaun Slater (Tall psycho army boy who was quite hard and unpredictable) 5. Andrew Cotton (He was a bouncer and massive) 6. Jase Dyer 7. Den Watts (could handle himself but weren't really a fighter, more a clever conman who knew gangsters, but he could jump the bar at the Vic and throw people out) 8. Johnny Allen (Was an ex boxer and dodged one of Phils punches and floored him once, as well as being a gangster) 9. Derek Branning (Fat Bloke who got punched by David Wicks and was more a gangster type than a hardman, but he weren't a push over) 10. Carl White (he got knocked out by Max Branning for god sake. He only picked on Ian Beale) 11. Jack Branning (Knocked Phil out and had some run ins with Shaun Slater) 12. Ray Dixon (Looked like a mean boxer and was physically fit) 13. Lucas Johnson (Was a psycho killer not a hardman) 14. Joey Branning (Thought he was gonna be hard but he got man handled by David Wicks and wet himself to Carl White. Gave his Dad a fair smack though) 15. Tyler - Ex Boxer who a bit of a violent temper. But not that hard 16. Charlie Slater - difficult to believe but he smacked Trevor Morgan, his own brother and beat up Little Moe's rapist. Had a fiery tempted at the start but then got super old. Could probably be further up the list 17. Paul Truman - Weren't a hard man but from what I remember had a bit of a temper, and got involved with gang member Goldie 18. Mick Carter - looks hard but is a soft family man who got dropped by one punch. Early days yet. Could yet be hard. 19. Andy Hunter - Was a gangster not a hardman, but could handle the Alfie... 20. Steve Owen - Never won a fight, but owned a gun looked liked a gangster. Could wind up Phil 21. Mark Fowler (Could beat Nick Cotton.Stood up to Phil a lot) 22. Max Branning 23. Minty - Came into the show as an hardman and was going great until the producers turned him into an idiot 24. Nick Cotton - Somehow people seem to think he's tough but he's a little weasel 25. Deano Wicks/Ryan Malloy - Weren't really hard. About the same league Not mentioning Billy, Alfie, Ian, Jay, Ben, Garry, Masood or the rest of them cus think I think I've mentioned all the hard ones and the rest are a bit ridiculous. Jake and Danny Moon weren't hard either
Paul Trueman was a decent fighter who was never scarred of anyone. Mark won the majority of the fights against Nick and Tyler or Joey ain't hard. What about Clyde Tavanier or Den Watts cellmate Barnsley as hardmen, even the Mitchell's knew Clyde was tough and Barnsley frightened and everyone in Dickens Prison.
Andrew Cotton or Grant for #1, tough to seperate them, Andrew surely the most powerful but may lack the mobility against a Grant Mitchell with the bit between his teeth. It would certainly be an intriguing contest. I'd edge with Andrew. Nick Cotton ain't hard, Fat Pat would sort him out in her prime . P.S you put EITHER Phil or Dan Sullivan at #2 so surely one of them should therefore be #3 and hence Dennis Rickman (in your opinion at #4). everyone else hence should drop down a place
1. Grant Mitchell 2. Phil Mitchell 3. Dennis Rickman 4. Dan Sullivan 5. Jack Branning 6. Steve Owen 7. Sean Slater 8. Vincent Hubbard 9. Mick Carter 10. Den Watts Honorable Mentions: Johnny Allen Andy Hunter Paul Trueman Jase Dyer Mark Fowler Frank Butcher
Dennis Rickman number 1 for me specially considering he was only on the show for 3 years until he died and the first person he floored was phil mitchell
I can't decide phil good with his fist, dennis had a good punch and was mental and strong and dan was strong it is hard to pick the order thinking of it. I always used to say phil was harder than both of them but not sure now
Grant Mitchell is the hardest as he has the ultimate combo of strength size and technique and was in the army Phil is close 2nd in his day/prime but nowadays too old and too slow Sean slater 3rd because he was fairly strong quick and was able to block and use great techniques to disable opponents Dan Sullivan 4th only just behind Slater because he was very strong and large but lacked the technique that 3rd place would have Jack Branning 5th because he would have lost against the above
My current list: 1. Grant Mitchell 2. Phil Mitchell 3. Dan Sullivan 4. Dennis Rickman 5. Sean Slater 6. Jack Branning 7. Den Watts 8. Lucas Johnson 9. Johnny Allen 10. Andy Hunter 11. Steve Owen
Dan was fucking harder than Phil the only way Phil go the better of him was to frame him he was scared of him when he renturned from hospital he rolledover andgave him money
I think Dan would give him a good fight since he is tall and has a good physical presence but I can see grant winning that as he is quick as well as strong whereas I don't think Dan is so that's why I think grant would win but Dan would give him a very good fight
1) Grant Mitchell 2) Phil Mitchell 3) Dan Sullivan 4) Vincent Hubbard 5) Dennis Rickman 6) Den Watts 7) Jack Branning 8) Sean Slater 9) Ray Dixon 10) Jake Moon 11) Owen Turner 12) Max Branning 13) Beppe Di Marco 14) Lucas Johnson 15) Gianni Di Marco 16) Paul Trueman 17) David Wicks 18) Derek Branning 19) Johnny Allen 20) Jase Dyer
I wouldn't put him in the top 10, but definietely the top 20. He was a very layered, interesting character. I stopped watching it for quite some time after he died (2001?), then I started watching it again in January 2015. Half of last year was a bit rocky, but so far 2017 isn't that bad at all.
Yeah, thats sadly what happened to Dennis Rickman when he beat up Johnny Allen so Paul probably took that attack from Andy because he knew that Andy had henchmen. Physically though, Paul was a strong person, even Dennis Rickman (when Paul had an outburst in the Vic) and Phil Mitchell (When Paul battered Garry Hobbs) had trouble retraining him.
I think tommy was in eastenders around november 2004 when den came back but i cant remember if den hit him. It was 12th or 15th november when chrissie exposed tommy after he tried to blame her.
my top 10 are 1. Sean Slater 2. Grant Mitchell 3. Dennis Rickman 4. Phil Mitchell 5. Den Watts 6. Dan Sullivan 7. Jack Branning 8. Steve Owen 9.Johnny Allen 10. Andy Hunter
Top 10 10 martin Fowler 9 Owen Turner 8 Dan Sullivan 7 mick Carter 6 Dennis rickman 5 Sean Slater 4 Jack branning 3 Phil Mitchell 2 Vincent Hubbard 1 grant Mitchell
1) Grant Mitchell 2) Phil Mitchell 3) Sean Slater 4) Vincent Hubbard 5) Dan Sullivan 6) Owen Turner 7) Dennis Rickman 8) Paul Trueman 9) Jack Branning 10) Beppe Di Marco
Danny Moon Yeah, he was very underrated. He had a great punch as well. I should have added his brother Gianni as well. Danny Moon is underrated as a hardman as well.
That's true, Dan only beat Phil because the lights were off, but overall I think a fight between the two would be quite even since there never was proof that Phil was harder than Dan (he only threw Dan against the wall because Dan underestimated him by trying to grab him, he had to confuse Dan with the lifts to disarm him, and when he kicked Dan about, he only did it because he was armed with Dan's gun). I think Phil would edge a fist fight but in wrestling, Dan would win, so its even to me.
1. Grant Mitchell 2. Sean slater 3. Dennis Rickman 4. Dan Sullivan 5. Phil Mitchell 6. Vincent Hubbard 7. Jack Branning 8. Johnny Allen 9. Beppe dimarco 10. Den watts I've probably left a few off here but let me know if can think of any
Lucas hard? He attacked Owen from behind and still got beaten and had to go from behind again to kill him. There's no proof he can take anyone when it's head to head
@Danny Moon i think phil is the only one he couldnt put in hospital because they are brothers and i think grant would struggle to chuck phil around plus when they had a fight over kathy it was sort of even. The other 2 people that i think would lose to grant but wouldnt be put in hostipal is dan he was quite tough and to big for grant to chuck around but grant would be to quick for him
I reckon grant is still number 1 hardman but now i can't decide who the hardest is out of phil, dan sullivan and dennis rickman and the closest fight i reckon would be on eastenders would be andy hunter vs steve owen LOL
1) Grant Mitchell 2) Dan Sullivan 3) Phil Mitchell 4) Dennis Rickman 5) Sean Slater 6) Andy Hunter 7) Steve Owen 8) Jamie Mitchell (Well lets face it, he got at least a punch on Steve Owen that I think earns him number 8 considering he's just a kid) 9) Jack Branning 10) Dirty Den (Well put it this way, he's a bit of a wife beater so I don't think he deserves any higher than this spot) That's my opinion.
I had a feeling Phil would be number 1. Out of all the hardmen I've seen during this clip, he's my favourite, Grant, second (as also the list states) Though I have to admit, I would've added a few other hardmen to this list; i.e. Steve Owen, Mark Fowler (he definitely got into fights) and Pete Beale (well sort of, we know he was 'macho', but I'm remembering the time he beat up Willmott Brown)
The Hardest women. 1. Shirley Carter Geezer Bird. 2. Kat Slater KitKat 3. Babe Trifle Pudding Bird 4. Roxy Mitchell the Claw 5 Sharon her KO Piggy Bash 6 Stacey comes out from nowhere 7 Cindy Ian's Wife she is wild 8 Mel Owen wild pony 9 Denise Foxy Biscuits 10 Dr May who likes getting her own patients.
1. Grant Mitchell 2. Phil Mitchell 3. Sean Slater 4. Dan Sullivan 5. Dennis Rickman 6. Vincent Hubbard 7. Jack Branning 8. Owen Turner (Beat up Lucas, Kevin and Jake so he's a solid hardman) 9. Beppe Di Marco 10. Jake Moon
I reckon grant and dan r harder than phil cuz dan pinned phil against the wall and knocked phil out when he kidnaped mel then comes dennis, jack, sean, ray, derek, steve, johnny, max, andy are all after phil. Grant is the number one hardman his size, strength, speed, stamina, and army skills make him a fighting machine not to mention his anger he smacked eddie royle into a pancake 1991
EastEnders Wedding Checklist or something like that + Naa I changed my mind now, my top ten are 1. Phil 2. Grant 3. Dennis 4. Dan 5. Jack 6. Sean 7. Steve 8. Andrew 9. Derek 10. Johnny/Den
steve could beat mathew up and he manhandled him many times, but mathew striked unexpectedly when steve was not looking. its like lisa kneed phil on the groin once where he dropped.
Yeah I think Joey is hard too, EastEnders made him look like a fuck when he didn't floor that Ginger guy and when he got dropped by his sister, but he is actually hard, he'll make the top ten if he can floor more people
I like this list though Johnny Allen and Dirty Den weren't really hardmen just Gangsters/Thugs. Lucas I think had real potential to be a hardman but was never really in a decent fight.
1 Grant 2 Phil 3 Vincent 4 Gianni De Marco 5 Dennis 6 Jack 7 Sean 8 Mick 9 Carl 10 Den 11 Derek 12 Dan 13 Mark 14 Johnny 15 Masood 16 Lucas 17 Andy 18 Max 19 Tom last one Frank Butcher
@Danny Moon lol The reasin i think dennis could beat him was because phil was scared to fight him man to man. Plus dennis gt up from phils punch whereas phil was koed. Even dirty den beat a prime phil man to man and he was 60.
@broman178 It is a tough one but id say phil because hes had way more fights whereas dan only had a couple sio i think phils experance would give him the edge.
Had Grant stayed the same length of time as Phil then Grant would've without doubt been the number one hardman
Phil's knuckles must be knackered by now after these years of punching the shit out of people.
I like the way jack used the police and lucas used god.
Grant should be number 1.
true
+AKMAN 699 but when grant come back he will knock phil out and shags Sharon and Kathy grants the man
My all-time toughest hardmen list.
Dean video?
My list always changes but my top 10 hardmen (1) grant (2) Sean (3) Dennis (4) Dan (5) Vincent (6) jack (7) beppe (8) Gianni (9) Andrew (10) Phil
what about Lucas Johnson
Wheres Barnsey????? Yes only in it for a bit,but he would have decked the lot!
Ian's dad Pete is seriously the most underrated hardman ever, he's never on these lists but he was seriously tough. I would actually go as far as to say that physically he was tougher than Den.
Agreed, Pete was more of a brawler whereas den usually used his brain to beat people
I rate both Pete and Tony Carpenter as better hardmen than Den as far as shows original tough guys go.
@@stemple11100 my toughest from the 80s would go
1) Barnsley, top dog in Dickens Prison and could multiple people with ease.
One of the toughest in Dickens Prison
8) Nick Cotton, showed some good skills around this time but became much more inconstant later on.
Which Den ? Dirty den or den junior ?
11:00 That piano rift as he slammed in to it was perfect!😂😂
I would rank Clyde as 4th on the hardest ever list behind Grant, Phil and Dan Sullivan, he would of put up a good fight against any of them though tbh
@@stemple11100
There are loads others who would beat Clyde that you didn’t mention such as Sean, Jack, Vincent, Dennis, Mick etc
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Phil Mitchell
3. Dennis Rickman
4. Dan Sullivan
5. Steve Owen
6. Mick Carter
7. Jack Branning
8. Den Watts
9. Sean Slater
10. Johnny Allen
H. Mentions:
1. Andy Hunter
2. Gianni di Marco
3. Paul Trueman
I wouldn't even put Steve in my top 30 tbh
Den definitely top 5 best judged on his early eastenders career when he was younger
Phil is every in is character he's hard, bully, a villain, a woman beater, businessman, physicho path, scrooge, mean, angry, most punched and some times get hated but best actor on eastenders.
"a physicho path" 😂😂😂
Phil had to be number 1 he is a legend!!
Jack is a badass
No, I'd say that Phil was pretty much on an even keel with Dan,(bearing in mind that Dan was 5 years younger than Phil) but Phil's continued dominance over the last 20 years gives him a higher hardman status in the top ten list, for me anyway. I think Dan vs Phil would be not one sided in Dan's favour but even. Phil showed he could move pretty fast himself when he moved deftly aside to avoid Dan's punch in the Arches, when Dan had the gun.
Steve Owen wasn't really a fighter...He wasn't a mug but others were better. But he was one of the best characters.
If ross kemp sounded as tough and had even a fraction of the acting talent of steve mcfadden this would be way closer to call.
The brilliant Steve Mcffadden as Phil Mitchell. Great actor. Meaty part. The show is always alive when Steve's in it.
Phils a legend
1. Grant 2. Phil 3. Jack 4. Sean 5. Dennis 6. Vincent 7. Dan 8. Lucas 9. Ray 10. Andrew
the way that dan threw roy - superb
1.Phil Mitchell
2.Grant Mitchell
3.Dan Sullivan
4.Den Watts
5.Dennis Rickman
6.Sean Slater
7.Andy Huntt
8.Lucas Johnson
9.Steve Owen
10.Johny Allen
Fights I would like to seen or see. Andy hunter vs steve owen, grant mitchell vs dennis rickman, Beppe vs gianni, johnny allen vs den, sean vs dennis, joey vs tyler, david wicks vs alfie, bradley branning vs deano, lucas vs nick cotton, bradley vs jamie mitchell, ray vs sean, dan sullivan vs grant, dan sullivan vs ray,ray vs beppe. beppe vs max branning, gianni vs jack branning, derek vs mark fowler and jake moon vs gianni. Now I reckon these would be good fights.
Phil, Grant - Legends.
@Danny Moon and dennis i think we never really seen dennis at his propa best fighting wise until he battered johnny allen so i think his skills would keep him out of hospital.
Andy pinning Eddie on the wall was apart of apart of the Andy Hunter Revealed documentary
Jack handcuffing max was on the 30th October 2008 and if your on about the first kick he done, it was from a video from 1996, cant remember the exact date
For me
1 Phil
2Grant
3 Mick
4 Not So Adien but I will go with him
5 Lucas
6 Max
7 Jack
8 Vincent
9 Martin
10 Ben back in the days he was in the show
Wtf that top 10 max above Jack Ben in top 10 ben isn't top 30 worthy he's like 31st
That made my day 😂
I reckon if charlie slater was younger he be one of the hardest in the sqaure he be in my top 10
1. Grant Mitchell2. Phil Mitchell 3. Vincent Hubbard4. Dennis Rickman5. Sean Slater6. Jack Branning7. Dan Sullivan8. Lucas Johnson9. Beppe Di Marco 10. Paul Trueman
@Danny Moon yes deffo but the 3 i mentioned would damage him aswell but i cant see anybody else damaging or hurting him
Grant, Phil, Denis Rickman, Clyde, Dan and Sean all slap Danny Moon about like a wet tracky top!
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Jack Branning
3. Phil Mitchell
4. Johnny Allen
5. Dennis Rickman
6. Nick Cotton
7. Mark Fowler
8. Max Branning
9. Sean Slater
10. Derek Branning
11. Den Watts
12. Paul Trueman
13. Gary Slater
14. Dan Sullivan
15. Steve Owen
I disagree with this video. It's difficult to tell sometimes who's hard cus some of them were just gangsters more than hard men,.I'd say the list goes more like this (with explanations):
1. Grant - Without a doubt. He's just pure aggression
3. Dennis Rickman
4. Shaun Slater (Tall psycho army boy who was quite hard and unpredictable)
5. Andrew Cotton (He was a bouncer and massive)
6. Jase Dyer
7. Den Watts (could handle himself but weren't really a fighter, more a clever conman who knew gangsters, but he could jump the bar at the Vic and throw people out)
8. Johnny Allen (Was an ex boxer and dodged one of Phils punches and floored him once, as well as being a gangster)
9. Derek Branning (Fat Bloke who got punched by David Wicks and was more a gangster type than a hardman, but he weren't a push over)
10. Carl White (he got knocked out by Max Branning for god sake. He only picked on Ian Beale)
11. Jack Branning (Knocked Phil out and had some run ins with Shaun Slater)
12. Ray Dixon (Looked like a mean boxer and was physically fit)
13. Lucas Johnson (Was a psycho killer not a hardman)
14. Joey Branning (Thought he was gonna be hard but he got man handled by David Wicks and wet himself to Carl White. Gave his Dad a fair smack though)
15. Tyler - Ex Boxer who a bit of a violent temper. But not that hard
16. Charlie Slater - difficult to believe but he smacked Trevor Morgan, his own brother and beat up Little Moe's rapist. Had a fiery tempted at the start but then got super old. Could probably be further up the list
17. Paul Truman - Weren't a hard man but from what I remember had a bit of a temper, and got involved with gang member Goldie
Could wind up Phil
21. Mark Fowler (Could beat Nick Cotton.Stood up to Phil a lot)
22. Max Branning
23. Minty - Came into the show as an hardman and was going great until the producers turned him into an idiot
24. Nick Cotton - Somehow people seem to think he's tough but he's a little weasel
25. Deano Wicks/Ryan Malloy - Weren't really hard. About the same league
Not mentioning Billy, Alfie, Ian, Jay, Ben, Garry, Masood or the rest of them cus think I think I've mentioned all the hard ones and the rest are a bit ridiculous.
What about Owen Turner surely he should be top 15 at least
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Phil Mitchell
3. Dennis Rickman
4. Dan Sullivan
5. Jack Branning
6. Steve Owen
7. Sean Slater
8. Vincent Hubbard
9. Mick Carter
10. Den Watts
Honorable Mentions:
Johnny Allen
Andy Hunter
Paul Trueman
Jase Dyer
Mark Fowler
Frank Butcher
I want to see a showdown between Grant Mitchell and Sean Slater!
Has to be between Dan Sullivan and Grant, that would be a fight. Even phil was scared of Dan lol, Dennis was tough but not on grant/dan's level.
Phil has a tremendous left hook considering he’s a natural right hand man
My top 10 Eastenders hardman:
Ian Beale
Robbie Jackson
Ricky Butcher
Billy Mitchell
Minty
Gary Hobbs
Barry Evans
Anthony Truman
Alfie Moon
Gus Smith
the dat phil leaves the day eastenders goes dwn hill
Dennis Rickman number 1 for me specially considering he was only on the show for 3 years until he died and the first person he floored was phil mitchell
I can't decide phil good with his fist, dennis had a good punch and was mental and strong and dan was strong it is hard to pick the order thinking of it. I always used to say phil was harder than both of them but not sure now
0:28, Funny how Paul Trueman got pinned against the wall by Andy Hunter, but in a real fight Paul would mash Andy.
Grant Mitchell is the hardest as he has the ultimate combo of strength size and technique and was in the army
Phil is close 2nd in his day/prime but nowadays too old and too slow
Sean slater 3rd because he was fairly strong quick and was able to block and use great techniques to disable opponents
Dan Sullivan 4th only just behind Slater because he was very strong and large but lacked the technique that 3rd place would have
Jack Branning 5th because he would have lost against the above
You forgot to mention which is important that Sean slater was also in the army.
Grant is the hardest man in amy of the Soaps in my opinion, has he ever lost a fight??
My current list:
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Phil Mitchell
3. Dan Sullivan
4. Dennis Rickman
5. Sean Slater
6. Jack Branning
7. Den Watts
8. Lucas Johnson
9. Johnny Allen
10. Andy Hunter
11. Steve Owen
Dan was fucking harder than Phil the only way Phil go the better of him was to frame him he was scared of him when he renturned from hospital he rolledover andgave him money
phil only hardmen list because got more punches
+Matthew rose 😂😂😂😂
Lucas took his religious beliefs in a sadistic way and was unique underrated villian for me
I love to see Grant vs Dan,
I think Dan would give him a good fight since he is tall and has a good physical presence but I can see grant winning that as he is quick as well as strong whereas I don't think Dan is so that's why I think grant would win but Dan would give him a very good fight
Grant would batter him.
1) Grant Mitchell
2) Phil Mitchell
3) Dan Sullivan
4) Vincent Hubbard
5) Dennis Rickman
6) Den Watts
7) Jack Branning
8) Sean Slater
9) Ray Dixon
10) Jake Moon
11) Owen Turner
12) Max Branning
13) Beppe Di Marco
14) Lucas Johnson
15) Gianni Di Marco
16) Paul Trueman
17) David Wicks
18) Derek Branning
19) Johnny Allen
20) Jase Dyer
Max, Gianni and David Wicks all great characters. But hardly hard men. Even the likes of Yusef and Masood got more fisty cuff action then they did.
Max has punched jack, Cameron, jay, Carl, Michael moon, and Adam. That's more people than Yusif and masood have punched.
You forgot Steve Owen.
Allison Halpin Steve Owen wasn't that hard but a good character.
I wouldn't put him in the top 10, but definietely the top 20. He was a very layered, interesting character. I stopped watching it for quite some time after he died (2001?), then I started watching it again in January 2015. Half of last year was a bit rocky, but so far 2017 isn't that bad at all.
Grant is far and away the hardest. He's never lost a fight in the history of eastenders. Phil was owned by Dan many times.
It’s not real lol
Obviously
Hes lucky he never fought Gus! He would have got his arse handed to him!
Grant is number one by a huge margin
Yeah, thats sadly what happened to Dennis Rickman when he beat up Johnny Allen so Paul probably took that attack from Andy because he knew that Andy had henchmen. Physically though, Paul was a strong person, even Dennis Rickman (when Paul had an outburst in the Vic) and Phil Mitchell (When Paul battered Garry Hobbs) had trouble retraining him.
I think tommy was in eastenders around november 2004 when den came back but i cant remember if den hit him. It was 12th or 15th november when chrissie exposed tommy after he tried to blame her.
Grant vs Phil - it's going to be the lucky dog on the day.
my top 10 are
1. Sean Slater
2. Grant Mitchell
3. Dennis Rickman
4. Phil Mitchell
5. Den Watts
6. Dan Sullivan
7. Jack Branning

10) Beppe Di Marco
I glad you put beppe in your top 10 like I always do cause a lot of people don't rate him but to me he had good fighting skills.
Danny Moon Yeah, he was very underrated. He had a great punch as well. I should have added his brother Gianni as well. Danny Moon is underrated as a hardman as well.
This is a good top 10 list
That's true, Dan only beat Phil because the lights were off, but overall I think a fight between the two would be quite even since there never was proof that Phil was harder than Dan (he only threw Dan against the wall because Dan underestimated him by trying to grab him, he had to confuse Dan with the lifts to disarm him, and when he kicked Dan about, he only did it because he was armed with Dan's gun). I think Phil would edge a fist fight but in wrestling, Dan would win, so its even to me.
Yea in striking alone phil is savage for a short oompa loompa. Ruthless bodywork.
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Sean slater
3. Dennis Rickman
4. Dan Sullivan
5. Phil Mitchell
6. Vincent Hubbard
7. Jack Branning
8. Johnny Allen

10. Den watts
I've probably left a few off here but let me know if can think of any
Molly King how is sean harder than phil
1) Grant Mitchell
2) Dan Sullivan
3) Phil Mitchell
4) Dennis Rickman
5) Sean Slater
6) Andy Hunter
7) Steve Owen
8) Jamie Mitchell (Well lets face it, he got at least a punch on Steve Owen that I think earns him number 8 considering he's just a kid)
9) Jack Branning
10) Dirty Den (Well put it this way, he's a bit of a wife beater so I don't think he deserves any higher than this spot)
That's my opinion.
That's a good list and very true mark fowler should on top list so frank
so phil he shouldn't be in number 8 he's worse then den and grant
I had a feeling Phil would be number 1. Out of all the hardmen I've seen during this clip, he's my favourite, Grant, second (as also the list states)
Though I have to admit, I would've added a few other hardmen to this list; i.e. Steve Owen, Mark Fowler (he definitely got into fights) and Pete Beale (well sort of, we know he was 'macho', but I'm remembering the time he beat up Willmott Brown)
Would you be able to get the video where den battered tommy?
6:29 look how in the first 2 clips Pete and den are hard men teaming up
The Hardest women. 1. Shirley Carter Geezer Bird. 2. Kat Slater KitKat 3. Babe Trifle Pudding Bird 4. Roxy Mitchell the Claw 5 Sharon her KO Piggy Bash 6 Stacey comes out from nowhere 7 Cindy Ian's Wife she is wild 8 Mel Owen wild pony 9 Denise Foxy Biscuits 10 Dr May who likes getting her own patients.
1. Grant Mitchell
2. Phil Mitchell
3. Sean Slater
4. Dan Sullivan
5. Dennis Rickman
6. Vincent Hubbard
7. Jack Branning
8. Owen Turner (Beat up Lucas, Kevin and Jake so he's a solid hardman)
9. Beppe Di Marco
10. Jake Moon
Good list
Danny Moon Thanks Danny. Do you reckon you could have had Andy Hunter in a fight?
I reckon grant and dan r harder than phil cuz dan pinned phil against the wall and knocked phil out when he kidnaped mel then comes dennis, jack, sean, ray, derek, steve, johnny, max, andy are all after phil. Grant is the number one hardman his size, strength, speed, stamina, and army skills make him a fighting machine not to mention his anger he smacked eddie royle into a pancake 1991
From how long Ive seen Eastenders
1. Grant
2. Phil
3. Carl
4. Jack
5. Max
6. Lee
7. Joey
8. I don't know I haven't watched Eastenders for too long
Kian Williams johnny sean dan andy etc
Lol
but make no doubt about it jack was straight up afterwards.
My favourites Grant
Jason Cox is the hardest. He's the only one I've seen both Phil and Grant scared of.
I like Grant because his attitude is good and beats them up for the right reason, I dont really like the rest not even Phil.
Great video, thanks
EastEnders Wedding Checklist or something like that + Naa I changed my mind now, my top ten are
1. Phil
2. Grant
3. Dennis
4. Dan
5. Jack
6. Sean
7. Steve
8. Andrew
9. Derek
10. Johnny/Den
steve could beat mathew up and he manhandled him many times, but mathew striked unexpectedly when steve was not looking. its like lisa kneed phil on the groin once where he dropped.
Grant
Jack-Sean Slater
Dirty Den
Phil
Dennis Rickman-Lucas
Yeah I think Joey is hard too, EastEnders made him look like a fuck when he didn't floor that Ginger guy and when he got dropped by his sister, but he is actually hard, he'll make the top ten if he can floor more people
OMG, this was great - thank you!
Yeah grant number 1 hardman I think he could put all of the hardmen in hospital if he wanted to.
@Danny Moon Now that would be great i would also like phil vs dennis becuase although they fought it wasnt a propa fight.
Sean slater had some krav maga style shit going on.
Please can you do jamie mitchell beaten up by Dan sulliven?
sean was making sure of his mom.
Lol Lucas as Hitman with his suit and a red tie
I like this list though Johnny Allen and Dirty Den weren't really hardmen just Gangsters/Thugs. Lucas I think had real potential to be a hardman but was never really in a decent fight.
And Carl White who Ronnie killed by scrapping a car with him in it, he was fairly hard.
He battered peter Beale quite badly. Shame he didn't punch anyone on screen.
1 Grant
2 Phil
3 Vincent
4 Gianni De Marco
5 Dennis
6 Jack
7 Sean
8 Mick
9 Carl
10 Den
11 Derek
12 Dan
13 Mark
14 Johnny
15 Masood
16 Lucas
17 Andy
18 Max
19 Tom
last one
Frank Butcher
lol
+Matthew rose lol that all u got to say
+Matthew rose max before all of them and ...
+Matthew rose Max great character Max good at getting his revenge propley get phil back
+Oliver Elliott he not hard
I'll be honest I'd rather fight Phil than Grant (provided neither have sharp/hard objects to use)
I still reckon he would do damage to all the men who been in the square.
I stopped watching in 2000 so dont know a lot of these. But anyway these scenes make american hard man dramas look like a teddy bears picnic.
@Danny Moon lol The reasin i think dennis could beat him was because phil was scared to fight him man to man. Plus dennis gt up from phils punch whereas phil was koed. Even dirty den beat a prime phil man to man and he was 60.
nice editing!
Johnny Allen deserved but better rating than that 💯
Steve Owen over Lucas, otherwise pretty much agree with that top 10.
I would have put Grant 1, Dan or Phil 2, Phil 3, then Denis and Sean
1.Phil because he has been in more longer than grant and had more fights
2.Grant
3.Sean
@broman178 It is a tough one but id say phil because hes had way more fights whereas dan only had a couple sio i think phils experance would give him the edge.
