  • In our scheduled but one year late engine maintenance, we replaced the spark plugs, and while the plug were out, we measured the engine compression pressure.
Once the wrong way, and then after we fixed our disintegrating measuring gauge, the correct way.
We also freshened up the distributor cap and rotor, by replacing it with new parts.

Did you disconnect the distribuitor plug?

our is an EFI model, so we unplugged the whole computer, as you can see at the 4:00 minute mark.

Soon I will mount hydraulic steering to my suzuki samurai. By the way, don't you have something similar in mind?😂

regarding the servo, we will probably not be installing that on ours. the car is so light that while driving there is no need for one. we upgraded the steering linkages (video 17), and we will probably stop there.
as i understand, you can take the steering box from a vitara (geo tracker in north america) with the pump, and more or less bolt it on.
if we were doing something like that, i would get the steering box from a vitara, but not the pump. i would get an electrical pump - from a dacia or some renault.
that would allow the servo to be turned off while driving on the road, and if you rev it up to 7000rpms the pump would not be over stressed.
i have also seen people using electrical power steering from toyota prius - because it uses a stand-alone computer to operate, so you can use it without the rest of the car electronics.. but in my opinion that is not a good solution because you are putting a lot more force in the samurai steering box and it was not designed for that.
also you need to cut the steering column.
the hydraulic box with a electrical pump is the pinnacle of power steering technology in my opinion :).
you get the boost, and the feedback.. you dont get that with a fully electrical system.
also, you can ask mclaren. they did it after they saw how good it is on dacias :).
