Hello all, hope you are all had a great weekend, if you were early to yesterday’s upload you might have noticed that the video had no audio, sorry about that seemed to be a shot that messed up the audio during the export. So welcome back for take 2 of the headstock 200 hope you enjoy this adventure and as always thanks for tuning in :D
If you want a bit more information on what the route was like to ride then check out the before you ride video here - ua-cam.com/video/Iz7Ru7NM9Wk/v-deo.html
Thanks Josh! I'm riding this one in May so a sneaky peak of what's to come, even in winter, is really helpful! Doable in 2 days do you reckon?
@@sing_cycle_referee yeah i reckon its doable in two days, you will have a lot more daylight to play around with in may. Good luck 🚵
@@KeepSmilingAdventures cheers! Those high top sections look brutal but hopefully my Sonder Frontier will cope with them (the less said about me coping the better)!
I‘ve just seen this Video, and it is a big motivation for my first day of riding and finding little adventures. So: lets get outside and see what I’ll find.
These videos have the same effect on me! Very inspiring!
Massive props to you for doing this in winter Josh. Just attempted the HS200 event. Scratched at CP1. I'd walked about 75% of the route (about 90% of the time). Brutal.
Ahh, gutted for you mate, wales is a tough old place to ride. You did well. Well done for getting out there 🚵
Ex Pat Brit here living in the Philippines. Love your content so much, my only complaint is that it makes me homesick! I'm 70 and still ride my Giant fathom 29er XT 1x12, its perfect for the general road conditions here. I don't race and have never been into the MTB sport per say, it's just perfect for the general road conditions here. I haven't driven since 2005
Haha, like a BOSS. You have Plan A but can improvise a Plan B or C at the drop of a hat. There is no substitute for real world experience. Your filming, editing, voice-overs and production are just great! As always, well played Josh! 💪
Your resilience knows no bounds Josh, lucky you like the cold. Great vid as always.
To hear you huff puffing there at the start gladdens the ear of us lesser men 😁
Relatively new to your channel but have been binge watching. Fantastic content with great editing.
That hikeabike up the 'Big Lump' was worth it eh? Another cracking trip dude - i'm struggling to get time to get out at the moment so i'm enjoying living it through your vids ;-)
Thanks Josh, you always create and produce a great video, "it's all good" comes across loud and clear! Every viewer has your back in them terrible winds.
A new Top Bonk hat?!
Superb as always. Like the new lid. And we know it is really cold when Josh puts the gloves on 😂. Wales is a special place. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers. 🌞🚴♀️🖖🌧🌧🌧🌧
As always fantastic really good to watch, amazing ride love it!
A really lovely and inspiring video. I’ve lived abroad now for many years, but I grew up in the north of England, raised by parents who were really into hill walking and so these landscapes are very familiar. I can’t quite believe you’re wild camping in such low temperatures. Without a sleeping pad even!
That wind was... "BONKERS". Lol, Nice new hat boy.
love to see you do one of these trips on an a nice ebike, say 630 or 750 wh battery,, . seen as your super fit and weight about 11 stone soaking wet. , you would easy get 80-110 miles on a charge. you would love it
Thanks for all of your content, Josh. Always look forward to watching and this one didn't disappoint. Not that any have previously. Some crazy-variable weather out there and also some beautiful drone footage. ❤👍
Very nice ride! :) 🤙🏼
That looked like a magnificent ride Josh. The sunrise over the reservoir was something else, and you captured it beautifully with your drone footage. Thanks for making and sharing. 🙏
Another excellent vid josh dont know how you sleep out in those cold conditions you are an inspiration got my gravel bike for some adventures starting with north downs way
happy adventures :D
Great stuff, thoroughly enjoyed this 👍🏻
That's the beauty of Wales, massive high's to massive low's. Fortunately/hopefully/luckily more of the former than the latter. Great job mate, lovely shots. Well done for pushing through the pain, as usual :)
Nice adventure josh! A cold and tough one, thankyou.
Great start to the year
Hi Josh.thanks for another slice of type two fun with the odd bit of type one. Funny thing I'm pretty sure I saw you passing in the opposite direction as I was driving through Maesycwmmer,so not enough time to shout keep smiling to you. what make is your new tent? is it better than the alkpit? Oh and finally what's your top tip for keeping your feet warm in the icy weather.Keeo smiling and keep the films coming. best wishes. Rob
I scared myself silly riding the gap in the summer in daylight on a mountain bike! :-) Another fantastic video, very inspirational!
good to see you getting back out there Josh
Another cracking video Josh, the drone shot at the very end overlooking the dam is simply stunning! 👌
such an amazing place to wake up
Great video mate 😊
Good video, enjoyed it thank you. You bike pack in some tough conditions in order to produce content for your subscribers #kudos and stay safe 🚴👍
Enjoying your videos. Just curious why not a mountain bike with 2+ inch wheels or a fat tire? Seems you battle with some pretty rough trails that would benefit from such setups.
I can't believe that you cycled through the grey skies of South Wales, when the sun was blazing in Machynlleth this winter?
Yes we got all excited yesterday, . Thank fully its back. Cheers Josh.
Looking at the video, did you skip a sleeping bag and just use 2 thick puffy jackets on top? It’ll be interesting to hear your thoughts on the Lanshan 1. I use a 2Pro and really like it, though single skin brings its own issues.
Slightly concerned I meant to be trying to do this over 2 days 😂. Looks amazing!! And as always brilliant content
You can do it!
A tent for a change. Looks nice. What model/brand ?
New tent..?? Awesome to see you back Josh.
yeah, new tent, will be a video on it soonish, im most probably not keeping it though
Lanshan is OK for warmer weather Josh, but a very draughty tent in the Winter, I think your Alpkit Soloist with the fly that comes down to the ground is a better option especially in the colder months of the year @@KeepSmilingAdventures
First ! and many thx for your vids
Nice upload.. what drone do you use please?
Surely the puncture and the tripod were numbers 2 and 3 with the broken tent from the previous day being number 1?
Ahh nah the tent was broken before I even started this trip.
We need a tent review and a link for the new cap.👍🙏
tent review will be soonish, new caps could possibly be availible soon too. (if i can get them how i like)
@@KeepSmilingAdventures I'll take two.🙏😎❤️🙂
Came here to comment on new cap too👍
👍👍🚴♂️🚴♂️👍👍
Beautiful. How is the new tent?
I will have a video on in soon, but not really good
Looking forward to it.
@@KeepSmilingAdventuresI'm lookin 4ward 2that 2!😊
