Pretty much what I was looking for, except my frame is fiberglass w/ metal corner pieces... The frame is at least 20 years old, it's starting to crack in certain parts, the round fiberglass pieces are also warped and the white fiberglass is starting to show. Have you ever experienced something like this and do you think it's even worth trying to repair? I'm all the way in Nevada, by the way.
Hi Jim, I would at this point start over with a pressure treated frame. You can get a tiki hut kit with everything included for $20 per square ft ground coverage for huts up to approx 20 ft.slightly more for larger sizes.. We are custom builders so you can choose the size that works for you. Everything included all hardware and instructions. If you are interested in purchasing just thatch $7.50 per square foot ft . Please contact us if you have any questions. 800-984-5448 Thank you!

We are an incorporated Tiki hut builder in the state of Florida, anyone can cut the leaves if they have permission of the property owner to do so. We sell kits to send all over the United states any size, shape for $20 per sqft ground coverage.

The tiki hut thatch is flamable , and precautions should be taken as to where you place your hut.there is usually no problem if it is a tiki hut placed in your yard. There is fire retardant available that you can purchase from us if you have concerns. It would have to be reapplied every two years.
Fascinating! Your accent sounds very Great Lakes Midwestern, but you’ve definitely mastered a pre-20th-century Southern craft. I prune about 100 palmetto leaves annually. I sometimes use the stems for plant stakes, but discard the rest. Do you need fresh, supple leaves for thatching, or would dry, stored ones work?
Thank you ,definitely midwestern , originally Michigan, Florida for 36 yrs. we use both , when they are fresh you can do the fold, when they are drier you wouldnt be able to fold them but they will work unless they are real old. We use leftover leaves for the huts in our yard all the time.
Tiki huts can vary in price depending on size . thatch can be purchased by itself. If you would like pricing please see our website www.suncoasttikihuts.com
