Creaiting a "mod" folder inside of the xboxgames/starfield/content folder does absolutely nothing. I did this and I still can't get the mods to work at all. No clue what to do.
@@emogamerdad2591 I haven’t run into issues modding the game so I don’t think it should affect your game. But Documents/MyGames/Starfield/Data is where the mods go if you’re playing the Xbox game pass version of the game.

Update: more mods worked for me without using vortex. I installed the mod in my starfield folder and it worked(zoomed out camera when talking to npc for example) Also I don't have starfield in the Docs/MyGames folder so i used Starfield.ini which is in my game folder.

is a two folders to instal mods: document folder located on C:\Users\(your user name)\Documents\My Games\Starfield and folder called xbox games (the place if you stall the game) when the mod specify you to instal on the main game folder is on xbox games file (ex: achivments enable or mods can change the shaders or animation) another mods you need to instal on my documents folder (ex: menu's mod, fov etc, damage modify)

@@fraids_97 I had the same problem, you need to use Bethini Pie to enable Loose Files and then simply Save everything. After that, copying the Interface folder from StarUI into C:\Users\(your user name)\Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data should work.

More than 5 different videos, with different methods to install mods and absolutely none works for me, I have put the files in the mods folder as it says here, I have put the files in data as they say in another video, I have put the files in document as in another video, I have created the .ini and it has not worked either, What a way to annoy users by limiting mods in this way...
I think this happend because StarfieldCustom ini not work in gamepass version, I was able to do this by entering the data that needed to be entered for StarfieldCustom.ini into the main Starfield.ini, but you need to make a backup of the file, otherwise you could break everything.

for some reason my vortex automatically used a path that goes into windowsapps where there apearently is another starfield folder(8GB) but I cannot change it to the one i installed it into and I cant open windowsapps either

As far as I can tell, mods do not work with the Gamepass version of the game. All the people I’ve seen comment on Reddit or NexusMods are playing via Steam
This video is fake. Most mods require an additional executable, a script extender. The script extenders don't work with gamepass edition though, so instead you have to use something called an ASI loader.
I have Game pass installed on my C drive but all my games are on my D drive including Starfield, would this make any difference? I have followed these steps and that of the mods authors to attempt proper installation but nothing has worked. I just want 60fps UI ffs! lol
@@Xilent1 nope, tried Votex as well, nexus reckons it works with game pass and everything showed up green when installing a smooth Ui mod but still when I launch the game im getting 30fps ui
UPDATE: My fault, I hadn't added the custom ini file Smooth UI now works using vortex! just make sure the StarfieldCustom ini file is in the Starfield/Content folder 👍 best of luck fellow space man!

The reason people are saying mods won't be compatible with gamepass version, citing problems they've had with this game and other Bethesda titles, is because xbox app games can't use the script extender. Any mod that doesn't require it should work fine for all Bethesda titles
I'd like to know too. There are probably some files that will work, but most of the good stuff probably requires said files you installed on your pc, so on console it won't be able to "read" those files and thus not work like clothes and weapon textures or UI changes. However, there are some mods that alter values like "All powers at rank 10" which you could save after you enable them and those will probably work on console. Don't know for sure.

Actually, Starfield recommends you put your mods in the Documents folders mod folder. That way you won't lose files if you delete the mod.

The mods are still fairly restricted because the file permissions are protected. Basically, you can't use things like SFSE or mods that rely on it.
