People saying he's salt bae of bartenders are 100% salty inferior bartenders themselves. Their insurance companies would never let them do Centi folia fire stunts.
Salt Bae originally is a good butcher and decent cook. So he got the basics down but unfortunately due to fame and all, he ended going for the vanity route with gold leafs, theatrics, and all.
The Irony of "Yea its all for show, not really a normal bar that you can just enjoy drinks in" etc And then the last 20 seconds "Yea the other bar was just normal, not worth documenting" LMAO
This guy litterally took the "Gin and Tonic" to the next level lmao I have seen some amazing show bars in Japan. The plus of other show bars in Japan is that there is less people taking photos and enjoying the show rather than flashing people in the eyes and talking loudly. Personally, I prefer bars for the drinks and vibes rather than a show.
Okay holy moly. I did not expect that level of commitment to making a Mojito and a Gin and Tonic. Like you guys, I was wondering what this bar/bartender would do with more basic requests. He did not fail. That was pretty sick. Hell I think there were more ingredients that went into the Gin and Tonic than the Mojito lol. Yo, actually kinda worth it for that refreshing surprise. It's still silly but I love it.
This is a problem Mudan is going to face, the best content for youtube tends to be the touristy quick-experience stuff.

How is that the best content when it's literally covered to the point of over-saturation? By that point, the only original content is Mudan's take on it vs everyone else's.
As tokyo resident - I went there quite some. time ago, before his insta fame, and it was a great place, definitely not with today prices although with wealthy customer base... but as you pointed out he became "victim" of its own success
Love your videos and watch them daily! This bartender is crazy artistic! Thanks for this video! It was awesome to see how simply drinks could be made insane with this bartender's flare and creativity 😊
This is the level of performance you hope to see when someone calls themselves a mixologist. I think the normal bar "not worth documenting" is the one I would have wanted to see.
Drinks were neat, but I'm confused near the end when a store across the street is advertising being open from 7:00 to 27:00. Japan really on the grindset to find three extra hours in a day.
In Japan they sometimes show times going over the 24 hour mark if they are open overnight because they consider it part of the same business day. TV stations also list their schedules like that because they start broadcasting in the morning and end late at night.
The 30-hour time system is an extension of the 24-hour time system, with the “boundary of the day” being 6:00 a.m. The notation of 24:00 and 25:00 is used. This is a more advanced, innovative, and up-to-date time notation system than the old, traditional time notation system. It is mainly used in the broadcasting industry, railroad timetables, astronomy, and late-night establishments to prevent errors and discrepancies in date recognition. There is also a 28-hour system in which the day is set at 4:00 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m., and a 32-hour system in which the day is set at 8:00 a.m. In short, the starting point of time is different, but the concept is the same as the 30-hour system. There are also video timer displays, clocks, and other devices that correspond to this time notation system. Although it is regarded as a time notation system unique to Japan, it is also used in some other countries. For example, Danish State Railways DSB coupon tickets (da:Klippekort)
i mean he's skilled at doing the show, IDK about the drinks being that expensive unless he's serving up some vintage stuff. That spurt of gold dust made that gin and tonic expensive
comparing Flare Bartending, which takes actual skill and practice, to salt bae is such an insane insult, some people are too possessed by internet irony and cynicism poisoning
Whaddyoumeaaaaaan you met up with Pete afterwards and it WASN'T NOTEWORTHY?! How daaaaaaare you, good sirrah. Anyways, that salted caramel whatchamahoosits looked pretty damned good. Buddy put frikken GOLD on top. Thanks, fellas~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow? (after his apology to PremierTwo)
One of my weaknesses is unique and cool cocktails, but my wallet can't handle more than one outing for them a month. I don't think I've ever had one as expensive as those in the video though, the most I've paid (or had paid for me) was $22 I believe, and even that I thought was a bit scammy.
I screamed when I saw you went here! It’s on my list to visit! Although I am nervous about over saturating it with tourism. It is so cool though. Thanks!!!
Ngl, thought the fire trick got a bit boring the third time around, but when bro actually made the gin and tonic not only did he do it, but it looked awesome. Though it is expensive and mid tasting.
0:53 is this filmed with your Main Cam, Go Pro or Phone? Because if this is filmed with the Main Cam wow it's dark. Edit: Also your using a not Rode Mic, something new? :) Edit 2: I'm guessing from the zoom ins I see later in the video it's your Main Cam
Centifolia is legendary... cocktail bars are my thing and I spent 3 months in Japan and wasn't able to get in. It usually is reserved giga far in advance, kinda shocked it was so easy for you guys to get in hah.
Unlike that one bar in the previous bar video. This most definitely is not a scam in regards to the prices. You are just paying for the show and it seems like a good show.
connor put it exactly correct. he was a guy who was serious and good at his job, got recognition for it, and is now stuck in that place. im sure the money is good, but i bet the guy wishes he could go back to the days before the hype.
I am kinda surprised Connor didn't appear in vlogs that much up until now. Unless I am forgetting some vlog? I guess he was busy with conventions and other stuff?
Connor was only in like 2 vlogs:the perfect beer one and the Trash Taste one(where they picked places for Mudan to visit). To be fair, Connor was in the US for a month(busy with AX and the charity auction).
I went to Whale’s of August because of Sharla’s video, but the drinks were not good, and the staff that time ignored us and we gave up trying to order more drinks after one round. Wish i’d known about the train bar!
so at 12:11 the shop in the back is apparently open from 7:00 - 27:00... what does that mean? Fancy way of saying 3am? Or do they have more hours in the day in JP?
Yeah nah this guy is no salt bae. Salt bae just puts gold leaf on a steak. This guy is a master of his art

@@raineheartily4580 wow he can cook. Amazing.
No. He's good but "master of his art"? Pfffft. Putting japanese on a festival

The highest compliment from British people
"Pretty good"
Crazy that the waitress actively reminds you to get your cameras ready and repositions the light for you haha
they know its a show and people come to film the show. it's a nice touch.
She's a hustler frfr
Ngl I was expecting a lot more memes in this bar
You're not only paying for the drinks, but also the performance of making the drinks.
And the content - it's designed to be for photography and video, and even the servers were holding the lighting to highlight drinks, etc
And also the experience of the guy making them.
@@jama211 yeah that's what they said
Honestly as a bartender and a fan of the manga bartender I love this kind of content. Thanks Mudan! Also my favorite drink is a gin and tonic 🎉😂
After watching that Bartender anime last season, I want to try the Horse Neck
So nice of mudan to collab with a local small creator
The Irony of "Yea its all for show, not really a normal bar that you can just enjoy drinks in" etc
And then the last 20 seconds "Yea the other bar was just normal, not worth documenting" LMAO
Now we just need Mudan x Gigguk to have the Trash Trilogy completed
he collabed with seadawg voice actor like a 100 vlogs ago
This guy litterally took the "Gin and Tonic" to the next level lmao

~ Connor, 2024.
I love the presentation of every drink he's made. Thanks for the upload and Connor for a cameo appearance!

oh he's cranky, must be naptime
Such retort, much wit, so insight.
HOW DARE YOU ROB US OF SEEING PETE!!!
Mudan can't afford he appearance fee. Pete is worth $25k per show now :)
Pete is the diva in this situation, not Mudan.
That was such a tease! I got excited for a moment!
The extended universe extends further with Mudan meeting Cousin Jeff
I love how the Chris Broad Extended Cinematic Universe intertwines.
As tokyo resident - I went there quite some. time ago, before his insta fame, and it was a great place, definitely not with today prices although with wealthy customer base... but as you pointed out he became "victim" of its own success

A meme drink at a meme bar with a meme bartender serving a meme voice actor and a meme editor. meme
This is the level of performance you hope to see when someone calls themselves a mixologist.
I think the normal bar "not worth documenting" is the one I would have wanted to see.
A mixologist is very different from a flair bartender

Honestly, worth it for the elaborate performance :D And the drinks seem good, too!
I am speedrunning Mudan's videos as review material for my upcoming Japan trip this week.
I follow this bar on Instagram and I only see video of the flame moment and some special bottles.
Thank you for a more honest showing of this bar.
watching this in 144p for maximum immersion
The gold dust flying with that drink literally felt like an anime scene
Seeeeessh those are some fire drinks, you can see it in their faces
Oh hey look, it's my two favorite youtubers collabing! Let's gooo!!

Money changes everyone, stay humble king
Connor really does his research when it comes to drinking.
Bartender homeboy made a freaking ice sculpture with his hands. No way.
The guy even managed to present the gin and tonic in a fancy way wtf xD
Best vod
These daily blogs have become a habit to watch. I dread the day it all end. 😢

That Gin & Tonic at 7:53 looks just like the drink sakuga from Bartender: Glass of God

Bar High Five in Ginza is still my favorite high end bar in Japan.
1:58 I can't be the only one that thought he said "bro, he is so hot😳🔥" i actually think that's what he said
Connor calling himself a professional alcoholic is too funny 😂😂
It amazes me than even in a fancy bar in Japan, they still use shit tonic.
we got mudan and connor indirect kiss before gta 6
"Can we get hammered here?" spoken like true alcoholic.
Playing with fire! FAV
Mudan brings out another side to connor.
