Emmy! My partner and I watch you every day and just adore you! Thanks for being a beautiful light to so many people! You bring so much joy into our house 😊 We especially love your hard times series - we are big fans of making due with what we’ve got and respecting the traditions of those who have come before us. While at our favorite local used book store (McKay’s here in Nashville - HUGE place with TONS of inexpensive books!) a woman overheard us talking and offered this simple hearty meal: egg noodles, cottage cheese, and crispy bacon. She said it’s sort of a ubiquitous dish in Hungary and her grandfather has been having it his whole life. It filled bellies without breaking the bank. She didn’t share an exact recipe so we made some egg noodles, mixed in some cottage cheese til it was warm and added crispy cooked bacon, bacon grease and all and mixed it up. Topped with black pepper and a bit more cottage cheese (or some cream). Delicious!
I am a Washingtonian and have been to Pike Place Market many times! Emmy, you made it like it used to be before Seattle died! Much appreciative! It is a brave act to go to Seattle these days! You are braver than I. I am very happy you came out unscathed!
Welcome to Seattle! I usually get the marionberry Ellenos yogurt. And the beef curry bow (their spelling) from Mee Sum Pastry is wonderful. They have an "I Am Mayonnaise" bow, but I haven't dared try it (it's also not always available). I would also recommend the smoked salmon chowder (I don't like clams) and seafood bisque from Pike Place Chowder.
Marionberry was the flavor that jumped out to me. It isn't available here in Massachusetts but I would love to try some! Mike Chen, Strictly Dumpling, was raving about some Marionberry Pie that looked yummy!

Emmy never fails to cheer me up, keep up your amazing work! ps. Last time(also first time)back in 2017 we were at Pike Place we were lucky enough to order coffee and got the exclusive mugs there as there wen't that many people!
I grew up in Seattle and spent a lot of time at pike's place market, shopping and playing my guitar there. Seattle was a vibrant city back then and the market used to be so crowded with venders, eclectic shops, and visitors. These days are only a shadow of what it used to be. Makes me very sad. I'm glad you and Emmy didn't go to Starbucks. There has been a homeless man showing up, wielding a knife and threatening the employees and the customers. The police picked him up but released him, as he was at Starbucks the next day behaving the same way. The city council cut the police force numbers and many have quit after the dismal failure in leadership last year with BLM protests and occupation of a street in downtown for several weeks. The continuing lack of police and the new law enforcement policy changes have led to uncontrolled homelessness and a 300% increase in crime, including homicide. It's not a safe place to visit anymore. It's heartbreaking.
Ooh, it's so cool that you came to Seattle! I hope you had a great time here! And smart choice to skip Starbucks. The only point of going to that location would be to get special merchandise that they only have at that location and/or to say that you've been there. Otherwise, it's just Starbucks coffee, no big deal. :)
Hi Emmy! Thank you for visiting Seattle! I've lived here my entire life. Just to let you know we call it Pike Place Market NOT PikeS Place Market! There's no S, lol. It's a common mistake tourist make when they visit :)
Wow this was a great video, and seeing the fans say hi was really amazing as a fan who has been watching for so long. Like the guy who said 'You're famous!' haha! Amazing Emmy!

I'm finally visiting Seattle next May and I'll be staying near the market and I'm so beyond excited to finally visit the city I've loved since I was 12!! I'm definitely gonna have to try those Russian pastries. My husband would LOVE those!!
Dude, if you just go to Seattle, you're missing out on so much! You've got to visit Mt. Saint Helens (maybe go through the Ape Caves there) or Mt. Rainier at least. Hit up the local festivals and farmers markets outside of Pike's Place. The Museum of Flight, Museum of Glass, Natural History museums, all top picks. Both sides of the state have incredible agriculture as well, though cherry season in Yakima (best cherries in the world) typically starts early July. The East side of the state is a completely different beast from the West side, it's more desert steppe in most places. Oh, btw, you can stay in a legitimate castle in Port Townsend. It's nice, and the locals are hiding some amazing food. There's also an old naval base to explore, not to mention it's beautiful. I might be a little proud of my state.
@@Kehy_ThisNameWasAlreadyTaken I'm going for a concert, I don't have time for all that. Obviously I plan on doing more than JUST the marketplace but it's something I want to explore. 😐
@@ziggybaker3446 The clear and obvious solution of course being more visits. You are now required to visit at least once more, because I feel like making pie and tea and politely demand you have a slice
@@Kehy_ThisNameWasAlreadyTaken ideally I'd love to move to the Seattle area. It's been my dream for a very long time. Unfortunately, I have no real job skills so my options are limited. 😓 All I've ever done is work factory jobs. I want to work at a record store and music venues. Maybe someday...
We always called the cheese curds "Squeaky Cheese," for obvious reasons. Washington Cheese here in Mount Vernon, Washington closed down, but we used to buy our Squeaky Cheese there for snacking. It was a great snack for the kids. I want to make one last trip to the market. Went there all the time as a kid. I'll be 79 tomorrow, March 8 2022. One more trip would be nice. I guess you could see how many people love the show. Your sparkling personality gives a lift to those who are down, and you so enjoy food. You show what it should bring to those who will sit and take the time to really enjoy whatever it is that they are eating. We eat way too much and on the run.
I'm sure you can already tell, but we love you in Seattle! I hope you got to eat around Chinatown and the less touristy spots. You were right to avoid the first Starbucks at all costs. Go to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery for a better experience and better coffee, or better yet go to as many independent coffeehouses as you can for amazing coffee.
My daughters and I spent the day at Pikes Market in July when we accompanied my dad on a business trip. The only spot we didn’t get to was the yogurt place and I was so sad! I definitely would love to go back to Seattle when it’s not tourist time and the lines are less insane. We too skipped the Starbucks! I was not waiting in a 2 hour line for a cup of coffee I probably wouldn’t like anyway 😂
Hi Emmy! Take it from a local: The Pike Place Starbucks is nothing special. It isn't even the first one, that one closed and was on Western Ave down the street.
Emmy if you are still in Seattle you NEED to go to the Starbucks reserve completely 100% different experience. There is the roastery which is cooler cause you can see how they roast the beans in Capitol Hill. and there is the reserve that is less busy in SODO (which is actually the Starbucks headquarters location), check it out! you wont be disappointed 😊😊 like really upscale coffee and coffee cocktails, nothing like a regular Starbucks

I am happy to see you enjoying Seattle! I have to correct you and tell you that it’s just “Pike place” no plural. My California native boyfriend once called it pikes place and all us Washingtonians had to rip on him for it!
I hung out there often from 1968 to 1971. I loved the lower floors with all the Hippy shops. I would take the Trolley from Mt Baker to the Monorail downtown. Take the Monorail to Seattle Center and mess around there for hours. Then walk to the Market for a few hours. Then on to the aquarium down on the waterfront where I was a sort of junior docent. Made friends with the young Orca they had there at the time and participated in the Sea lion and whale shows. Finish it up with a visit to Ivar's Acres of Clams for the best fish and chips ever. Total bus fare, 40 cents.

Delicious!
The timing of this video is amazing! I'm heading up to Seattle in a few weeks and is definitely planning on visiting Pike Place Market!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
My favorite is the passionfruit...that place is so good!!
My favorite is the lemon curd 😍
Marionberry for liiifeeeeee
Pumpkin pie ellenos in the fall is also amazing 😻
One of the more unique things about your job must be having strangers approaching you with familiarity. We all watch and get to know a little about you and develop a sense of kinship, so I imagine folks when seeing you out in real life it's makes them feel like they're seeing a friend, and what an interesting social exchange that has to be, but you handled it with such grace. Thank you for the tour of Pike Place (I learned something new too today)
Emmy, you should try Lentein, i.e. duckweed protein. Then you can "eat the ducky moss" for real!
Hey, I appreciated your comment, and found it quite funny. Too bad your thread was hijacked, lol!
@Olivia iciano no
@@louisejohnson6057 It's the risk we take every time we comment.
Me, a Seattle native, every time Emmy took a bite of something: "yum, right?!?" 🥰
As you can see…we are all big fans of you here in the PNW❤️
I just have to say seeing all these fans come up and say hi and lovely messages to you really made my day.
And the fact you were so humble and realistic just shows how beautiful you are as a person. Big fan from the UK ❤️
I hope you enjoyed your time in Seattle!! So fun to hear you getting recognized here in Seattle 😃😃😃😃
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
It was so sweet how excited the fans were to see you and also returning the love to them. Just makes me love you more. Just genuinely happy to interact. So many delicious foods. I've never been to Seattle. I'll put it on my list of to dos.
I live in Seattle, have eaten all of these foods, and she still manages to describe it in a new way. As soon as I saw the title, I knew she was going to make me hungry. I really want to go to Pike Place Market now.
Yes Emmy!!! Soak up home for me please. I do miss it so. Thank you for all of ypur videos, you ALWAYS make me Smile! May you and yours have a wonderful weekend!
@2:20, I havent heard that sound in so many years!
A wild Emmy appeared in the markets, Emmy used nom nom on all the food
😂😂😂 a wild Emmy
I love that
😂😂 perfect
If you’ve ever seen one of her loves, whenever someone joins her live she said HI thank you so much and genuinely gets excited and it’s awesome to see she has the same energy in person too ❤️ I’m in providence and hoping I bump into her 😭
"I'm gonna miss the hot sauce..."
My 5yo: *grabs random hot sauce and tries to offer it*
Best part was it was a tiny Tabasco bottle 🤣
adorable 🥺
That's so sweet 🥰
#wholesome
Mikey Chen carries his own! Lol
@@Hrairoo555 ngl kinda creeped me out there because his name is Mikey 😅
this may be my most favorite video yet, i've been having a very stressful week but seeing Emmy getting recoginzed in the video just gave me the biggest smile ever. Emmy never fails to cheer me up, keep up your amazing work!
ps. Last time(also first time)back in 2017 we were at Pike Place we were lucky enough to order coffee and got the exclusive mugs there as there wen't that many people!
Yay! 😄 glad to bring a smile.
@@emmymade thank you so much for your amazing work!
Omg fans hollering at you us epic!
I did the exact same thing with that Starbucks when I went 😂 I saw the line and immediately gave up 🥴
omg nic! your collabs with Emmy from so long ago are what introduced me to her, I've been a fan of hers ever since :)
It’s just like every other Starbucks so there’s no reason to go inside anyway :)
Us too!
Ditto. Line was crazy!😵
Wholesome emmy content. Her enjoying her food while having people recognize her. She was so sweet to her fans! We love emmy!
Thank you. 😊
Yay- Emmy in my hometown!! So happy you enjoyed the market. Seattle showing Emmy the love💚💚
Hi Emmy! Thank you for visiting Seattle! I've lived here my entire life. Just to let you know we call it Pike Place Market NOT PikeS Place Market! There's no S, lol. It's a common mistake tourist make when they visit :)
Omg! I live in Seattle, and if I saw you I would immediately recognize you and say hi as well! Hope you enjoyed being here. 💜
I really enjoy videos where you travel and taste different foods - thank you for taking us along with you Emmy!
Wow this was a great video, and seeing the fans say hi was really amazing as a fan who has been watching for so long.
Like the guy who said 'You're famous!' haha! Amazing Emmy!
I love how Emmy's fans will say hello, and not bombard her with intrusions into her personal space. Just a hi hello thanks for the content! She's becoming a national treasure.
Becoming? lol she IS a national treasure ✨
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
Omg so cute hearing all the excited voices of people saying hi to you😭❤️
Just call her Emmy-made a rock-star. You better go girl, getting recognized all the way in Washington state. That's alright!
It must be awesome to be so loved. ❤️
And I hope Emmy TRULY understands just how much we appreciate her.
I was not waiting in a 2 hour line for a cup of coffee I probably wouldn’t like anyway 😂
emmy's huge genuine smile when people recognized her made me smile too! :)
those bao buns seem AMAZING 🤤
(it's so cute and funny to see how many people recognized Emmy, haha 💖)
Every time someone stopped in their tracks to greet you, it made me smile so big and so much that my face hurts!
:))) Hope you enjoyed your time in Seattle! That’s where I live. Also so cool to see you get recognized. You’re apparently well liked in Seattle :D
I just wanted to share my appreciation for your UA-cam channel! I recently gave birth to my son two weeks ago and he doesn’t like the quiet at night so I’ve started playing your videos on my tv and he sleeps listening 💙 I also like to put your videos on when I’m stressed or just need to relax bc I find your voice and videos so soothing to me
Emmy, it’s just “Pike Place”!! Hope you enjoyed your time in Seattle :)
My brother has friends that sent them a box of the frozen pastries from Piroshky Piroshky for Christmas and it was such a great reminder of our time in Seattle a few years ago!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
😆😆😆 Emmy is a star! She can't eat in peace anymore, everyone knows her! 😍
It was so cool hearing all the recognition and cheerful interaction! Also, at 6:00 yum!!!
I am happy to see you enjoying Seattle! I have to correct you and tell you that it’s just “Pike place” no plural. My California native boyfriend once called it pikes place and all us Washingtonians had to rip on him for it!
Well said
I hung out there often from 1968 to 1971.
You know how you tell someone’s not from Seattle? They say “Pike’s Market”. It’s “Pike Place Market”.
I love your videos Emmy. My mother recently passed away and I love your bubbly, happy personality. You make my days a little brighter
Wow, Emmy's popular in Seattle!👍
Omg so glad you made it here! Love how people are recognizing you! You are so adorable and giving them love back!
I love how Emmy says she's not famous as one stranger after another interrupts her eating to tell her they love her.
You deserve all the recognition! Keep doing what you're doing! Your work is more than appreciated.
