This channel is a hidden gem for people like me who love documenting small towns! I have a vacation to explore Shannon County next June. Real excited to check out those beautiful springs all over.
Oh the memories. When I was younger we used to take float trips from Jack fork to the current river. I grew up around Ellington and spent so much time down at powder mill ferry when it was still in operation.
The walk around is wonderful, and the scenery in Eminence Missouri is very nice and splendid! Fantastic and relaxing for a holiday! It is so enjoyable to be in there! I like it!
Dos Rios is a pretty good little restaurant. Of course Dairy Shack is awesome. The bar at the entrance to Shady Lane Hotel, Called The Wet Spot, is super good food as well.
Did a video of the drag boats at Lucas. I have done driving through videos of other towns. Might have to do one through Wheatland. Have a good weekend.
@@louisianacherokee337 thank you so much!! Your comments were so kind. We have a bunch of nature videos on our channel. Some of the older videos so some of the state parks. Enjoy Missouri.😀
This was a nice little video showing the town. I did want to add that there is a Dollar General on at the end of town at the outer edge, and also a nice little grocery store in town right on the strip that has about everything you could want. My sister-in-law and I usually visit every summer for a week and we kayak. It is an amazing place and we enjoy being refreshed. Everyone in this little town is super friendly and it is very relaxed and laid-back. Simply put, I love it!
We have been coming to Eminence for a number of years and one of the best things to do while you're there is float the Jack Forks river. Begin at Ally Springs and float just past the Eminence bridge which takes about 4 hours, depending on how many times you stop to swim, explore, etc. There are several good places to swim, a large cave to climb up to and of finish the trip off at the rope swing under the bridge.
You guys had no clue about the Cross Country Trail Ride that makes that town famous!! It's a Mecca for horse people from around the country with week long camping trail rides all season long. Further down the dirt road from that cute little western town street of shops. And you should have tried the Mexican restaurant, very good food!! But, yes, GREAT little town for recreation of all kinds!!
I traveled southern Missouri for most of 5 years following power lines. My advice is get off the beaten path. I know I saw things I still have a hard time believing. But that was the mid 90s. No doubt some things have changed. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Current River, Jack's Fork is a location of the Current. Floated the Current many times, back when they didn't patrol the river. ;-)
