A perfect pop song. Just enough meaning to still be easy to take in and a catchy melody with a sing-along chorus. Why this hasn't reached more success I will never understand.
George! J'amarais tu voir en concert. S' il vous plaît... visite La France!! Tu est magnifique!!! Je pense que tu est le plus parfait chanteur anglais. Merci!!!
**TRIVIA TIME!!** ...This VERY forgotten tune peaked at #40 Pop for ONE week, Feb. of 1988 ....It was from the cult hit flick "Hiding Out", starring Jon Cryer...Boy was re-inventing himself (and looking healthier, than his 1986 h-roin addicted period..); The OTHER tune from the Soundtrack was the BIGGER hit, "Catch Me I'm Falling" from Pretty Poison (#8 Pop, Dec., of 1987 ) ... (cont.) This Video was VERY VERY rare, and rarely seen, because Boy was somewhat blacklisted from Pop Radio during those 'bad' days, and he crossed over to a more R&B based sound, at the time....He actually had a Top 5 R&B hit in 1989, with a Teddy Riley remix of "Don't Take My Mind On A Trip"...He was livin' his life....and, WHAT a Life!!
Great music, great lyrics, beautiful video, it should have been a massive hit for Boy George worldwide, one of my favorite songs for Boy George, top 40 in USA chart is not enough
this should have been a bigger hit but he was climbing back from drug addiction and certain people were holding his music back..otherwise he wouldnt have had to wait until he was bearded and older to make really good music
It was on the soundtrack of the movie and everything. It actually barely became Boy George’s first solo hit in America, though he actually hated the song.

Eu amo suas músicas e seu geito de ser meu sonho seria ver ele é poder ou vir cantar três músicas pra mim e um comprimento mais sou uma fam de 48 anos Brasileira é é só um sonho encantado boy George
Wow I never knew this was Boy George it doesn't even sound like him.. I'm currently watching Hiding Out on Amazon Prime and I immediately had to pause the movie to look up this song
I think it's all Gaultier for the women dancers. Don't know who the people are with Judy Blame, but on the far right at 2:44 is Jaye Davidson, a few years before his appearance in the Crying Game.
Are the backup dancer's wearing Leigh Bowery too? I know his coat is Leigh with all the hairgrips. Also, the three men sitting on a bench. One of them is Judy Blame, who are the other two?
He reminds me more of Sinead O'Connor in "Nothing Compares 2 U" in the close-ups - and that may sound like an insult (to both of them, now that I think about it), but it is really not intended.
Live my Life lyrics I tell you baby, this is no way to live Make sacrifices, ‘til there’s nothing to give I want more than this sh**t on my back I worked too hard just to repeat the past Satisfaction can be hard to find I go crazy keeping it all inside Ain’t nobody’s business How I live my life I learnt my lesson Whether it’s wrong or right Ain’t nobody baby Gonna tell me how I should live my life Do live my way now The roof is leaking, stack of pillows on my bed No way to wake up, all the dreams in my head Phone don’t ring, got no man on the line Things could get better but I still feel fine Who can say what tomorrow would bring You give nothing, expecting everything Ain’t nobody’s business How I live my life I learnt my lesson Whether it’s wrong or right Ain’t nobody baby Gonna tell me how I should live my life Do live my way now Satisfaction can be hard to find I go crazy keeping it all inside Ain’t nobody’s business How I live my life I learnt my lesson Whether it’s wrong or right Ain’t nobody baby Gonna tell me how I should live my life Do live my way now.

The girl in the middle- Angela, where is she now❓ She is cuuute❤ too late for a date, huh... Unless she is SINGLE AND THEN I like McDonald's... before or after High Tea next to a fireplace
Criminally underappreciated song.
This is without a doubt my favourite George solo song. ,should’ve been a big hit ❤
I'm surprised this song only made it to #40 on the charts. It should have been at least a top 10!
I think most of American radio and the public there already wrote off George as a has-been by this time.
A perfect pop song. Just enough meaning to still be easy to take in and a catchy melody with a sing-along chorus. Why this hasn't reached more success I will never understand.
Exactly!! 🙌 I remember loving this song as a 14 year old in '87! ❤ it still sounds good! 🔥
I remember when this came out. I had the 12 inch single. This should have been a monster hit, but oh well. It still deserves success!
Allee Willis co-wrote some real sleepers in addition to her zillion or so huge hits. Try The Stallionaires' DOES SHE LOVE ME?.
I must have been asleep under a rock when all these great songs were out how did I miss these?! 😂
George has beautiful eyes...even without all the makeup.
This should be everyone's anthem.
I wish this song was on spotify

Proud and back-boned lyrics - no wonder Boy George is hitting home with this. The whole song is SOOO him. Love it all.

He semms a good person.
Some of George's best songs never released: 'That's the way", "To be reborn","Black Money" to name a few.
To be reborn was a top 20 hit in the 80's
Arthur Gwillim What chart?
Don Williams Yeah # 12 in UK, British charts not Billboard
Black Money was released as part of a Culture Club LP Colour by Numbers in 1983
Love the styling here - and stylist Judy Blame appears briefly at 2:52 - signature style/collaborator with the Boy.
Good voice 😍
oh yeah! ill live my life and no ones gonna tell me how to do it either!
go Boy George!
this should have been a bigger hit but he was climbing back from drug addiction and certain people were holding his music back..otherwise he wouldnt have had to wait until he was bearded and older to make really good music
i love you George ♥️
opening song from the John Cryer film "Hiding Out"!
MTV Classics HD yes....it brought me here!....great song!
It was on the soundtrack of the movie and everything. It actually barely became Boy George’s first solo hit in America, though he actually hated the song.
初めて聴いたけどボーイジョージがとってもキュート🩷めっちゃ可愛い😍
I didnt like this song back in the day. I can actually listen and enjoy it now 😉

still a cool song...
George has such a pretty little face at the end of the video!!!

Mac 2021 I can relate to this
Are the backup dancer's wearing Leigh Bowery too? I know his coat is Leigh with all the hairgrips.
Also, the three men sitting on a bench. One of them is Judy Blame, who are the other two?
Does anyone have the mp3 of this? Would love to have it!
He reminds me more of Sinead O'Connor in "Nothing Compares 2 U" in the close-ups - and that may sound like an insult (to both of them, now that I think about it), but it is really not intended.
His anthem and mine!
Same director. John Maybury.
LittleMissMiffy this is like a major compliment to sinead o'connor.
Styled by the late, great Judy Blame!

I love this song! It's not on iTunes. Does anyone have the mp3?
Live my Life lyrics
I tell you baby, this is no way to live
Make sacrifices, ‘til there’s nothing to give
I want more than this sh**t on my back
I worked too hard just to repeat the past
Satisfaction can be hard to find
I go crazy keeping it all inside
Ain’t nobody’s business
How I live my life
I learnt my lesson
Whether it’s wrong or right
Ain’t nobody baby
Gonna tell me how
I should live my life
Do live my way now
The roof is leaking, stack of pillows on my bed
No way to wake up, all the dreams in my head
Phone don’t ring, got no man on the line
Things could get better but I still feel fine
Who can say what tomorrow would bring
You give nothing, expecting everything
Ain’t nobody’s business
How I live my life
I learnt my lesson
Whether it’s wrong or right
Ain’t nobody baby
Gonna tell me how
I should live my life
Do live my way now
Satisfaction can be hard to find
I go crazy keeping it all inside
Ain’t nobody’s business
How I live my life
I learnt my lesson
Whether it’s wrong or right
Ain’t nobody baby
Gonna tell me how
I should live my life
Do live my way now.
George said himself that the song was ‘crap’ and that he had nothing to do with it, he said it did fairly well in the States due to the film
It’s not crap its very beautiful song, great music & lyrics
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯✌️☘️🙋🏻♀️🇲🇽
Is it just me or does Boy George look a little like Demi Moore in his close-ups?
Nothing against either of them. I like them both.
This is his other song that did better on the R&B charts than the pop.
I can't find what album or year this came out via Google. Anyone know? I want to say around 1987 - 88
....It may be be late, but...It was from the "Hiding Out" Soundtrack, from 1987: It peaked #40 Pop, Feb. of 1988...the OTHER hit from the Sdntk., was "Catch Me I'm Falling", the MASSIVE Dance Club hit, from Dec. 1987...It was ONLY on that Soundtrack, because...Boy HATED the Song, and it NEVER wound up on any of his Greatest Hits compilations! ....go figga!! ...ha-HAAA!

Apple Music sucks!
Woefully under-talented waste of space, who managed to become a 'star'
Clearly you have no taste. He is one of the most talented artists ever
piss poor.
