  • If you are ever in a situation where the fish will not take what seems obvious give the Little Black Caddis a try.

Thank you for explaining the different kinds of Caddis. I have the Black Caddis here in Missouri. This explains a lot.

Great tie and instruction on when to use it. It will really help alleviate "Why won't they take my caddis?" this spring! Thanks again for sharing

Really nice little fly, love the way you made the wing. Don't think I have ever seen it before. I will tie up some 16 - 24 of these little bugs. Maybe it will be a winner for me. Let you know if it is. All the best, Sean

Hey Kev-Hope you are well and the Scottish air is mild this year. Go to my blog and send an email and tell me what you have for hooks and how much. I can use them. Have a great year. I'm really wanting to make another trip over. just can't seem to put it together.

Your thorax thickness is way out of proportion with the rest of the fly. You also spent far too much time on the antenna, which are essentially underneath the thorax. The hackle is going to move all over the thread thorax. It should be dubbed lightly on a much smaller thread thorax area and then the hackle properly dressed in touching turns. It's a great idea, just poorly tied.
