when it's about you two, I always feel like we as the audience have no place to judge anything but love you for everything you are... you are already giving us so much without asking.. it's better to leave personal huffs and puffs between two lifelong best friends..
Additionally: I very much enjoy the quips and interjections between Rhett and Link. I love that they are natural and comfortable with one another, and aware of their complimenting personalities in the friendship. In my honest opinon, the mythical beasts can sometimes be judgmental with an element of ownership that they do not actually have over the personalities they are consuming for entertainment. These are 2 grown men who are sharing time with us, and are very willing to review themselves in a psychological way as an effort to be more likeable for the masses. However, they are already very organic and real. We really are privileged to enjoy them on the level that we do. This was a very strong podcast and I absolutely loved it. I mean...I watch Rhett and Link for Rhett and Link.
Link: Much respect to you for listening to constructive criticism, taking it to heart and moving to improve yourself. I've not noticed an interrupting issue, so I won't comment on that. I will say though, that hearing something in yourself can be improved upon, even when it's from someone who cares about you, is really tough! Especially when it's not something you're aware you're doing. I've been there too, on both sides, and it's definitely not easy. Self-improvement is always worth the effort (and sometimes pain) though, as I know you know. You're both very fortunate as well, to have such a good friend that can tell you what may not be working, or even what can be improved upon (as is the case here). And Rhett: As I was listening to that portion of this podcast, I was struck with your efforts to discuss it, but in a way that was as supportive and non-judgmental as you could make it. You seemed to be always aware of the impact of your words, and tried to mitigate any negative effect that it may have had on Link. You really are a true friend.
@@kaygee301 Respectfully but whole-heartedly disagree. It's very clear over the thousands of videos that Rhett is as far from full of himself as a person can be.
@@celticlass8573 I agree with you! Rhett seems like a down to earth kind of guy, and he knows his faults (most of them). Kaite Gedeng is probably thinking of Rhett's personality on GMM, which is very different from his personality in real life/ear biscuits.
Yes can we talk about the fact that Link is interrupting to explain how he doesn’t interrupt and is not waiting for a pause to say he only speaks when there’s a pause. And he is being rude. Not listening and only spending time thinking about the next thing you want say is rude and dismissive. Give him a mirror and let him have at it. The same amount of progress in a conversation would take place.
In terms of the videos (not daily reminders), I think part of the problem is that Rhett is a little long winded at times and doesn't leave room for Link to jump into the conversation. So Link will want to say something but won't have a chance to jump in and will eventually just blurt out his thoughts.
I am not sure why more people from the GMM fanbase aren't interested in Ear Biscuits. I don't even reguli listen to podcasts but I love this. Maybe you guys should shout it out more during the regular show to let more people in on the good stuff happening here, maybe share some of the topics spoken about, etc. No need to send me a free mug for the heads up 😁
WHAT! Whatever you two do, DO NOT stop doing what you do! The relationship between you two is magical . I am a 64 year old woman and your program makes my day! maybe someone is jealous of what you two have?
1:04 Rhett about "yes and" in improv- I've directed an improv/interaction troupe for 11 years. You guys are phenomenal at it! In my mind, more important than "yes and" is the underlying concept of "support the conversation". This is why people in close relationship do this really well. Sometimes it's definitely not "yes", but "no and" or... let me add. And sometimes that results in interruptions as we figure out our thoughts and how we're going to support the conversation. You guys are great!
I don't find Link invasive whatsoever. I totally would have guessed that Rhett interrupted Link more. I feel like Rhett always thinks what he has to say is more important than what Link has to say. But that is just what I perceive.
For all their bickering, they do tend to handle each other really well. And yeah lol, I adore Link but I can easily believe Rhett's estimate isn't a stretch.
@@chrystiafreelandscankles548 Hahaha. Yep. Rhett doesn't get enough credit for how pragmatic he is. Even when giving feedback, he's always tactful. More tactful than I would be if I find something frustrating! 😆
But Rhett also interrupts is link's point, which isn't wrong. So now the question is, who interrupts more? I still think Link interrupts more, but in any normal conversation someone will interrupt the other, even if no one notices or acknowledges it. I think only the editors of the show would know the answer, since they have to edit which camera angle they use for who is speaking at the exact second
IMO Link’s interruption tendency is a classic “only child” situation. He didn’t have a sibling to talk to when growing up and never fully learned the cadence of conversation.
Cecelia Kra It’s not a big deal and he wasn’t making it one, they were answering a question and because this is a podcast they wanted to actually talk about it because I’m sure he’s been doing it for decades and they’ve never talked about it.
My dad ALWAYS sleeps closest to the door & he has always said it's so he could tackle anyone trying to hurt mom or mom and me if we are in the same room.
If interrupting people would be a job, I'd be the best interrupter in the world! I've been in Link's position and I can't speak for him but for me, when I interrupt, it's because I have to ask some specifications on what's being said and/or I know it won't be relevant later. If I wait, I'll probably forget my question or have to replay the conversation faster to really explain what I want to know. Sometimes, I take notes on paper and come back to it later but it's not always possible. I always ask a ton of questions and the more infos I can get, the better I'll feel about what I have to do, thanks to my ADD and my anxiety. I never do it because I don't care about what people are saying and I know every time I do it... Except when I'm with my husband. It's not impossible it gets to 20-40x a week. I have so many things to say and so little space in my head to store them before I forget! And listening to Link, I realized I'm a verbal processor too. It's like saying things aloud place the ideas at the right place in my head. I hope Link won't stress too much about it... Good luck becoming an uninterrupter. Succeed where others like me have failed! :)
And btw, I don't care on which side of the bed I sleep. I sleep where I lay on the bed, usually diagonally, if my head is on the right side of the bed, my feet will be on the left side! THIS can be bothering for the other half!
i was raised by emergency services personnel (firefighters, emts, and some police officers as friends) so i know the feeling of always assessing your tactical situation for dangers. every time i enter a room i find *EVERY SINGLE* fire escape, fire extinguisher, alarm, sprinkler, smoke detector, emergency escape, window access, what u would do if i had to jump two stories out a window, where any and all possible weappns are around me, where the defriblitor was, firat aid stations, etc. its just engrained into my nature i guess.
This is day 3 in my new home. A lot of things have changed, but I'm still drinking out of my Ear Biscuits mug and watching along. Some things never change.
Wow the more I get to know you guys through these ear biscuits, the more I see my husband in Rhett & myself in Link! Considering your track record, and my husband and I being together 13 years and counting, whatever it is, it works!
This episode reminded me why I like these two. I feel like I see a lot of myself in both of them, and they’re two very relatable people. Awesome to listen to them be so real.
I love these ear biscuits, Kind of awesome to know that link is the kind of person who wants to better himself like that. I feel like I just watched some character development.

Hey guys I usually don't comment on videos but don't change your dynamic. In any respect including " interrupting " each other. It's part of what makes the show so entertaining.
I do the same as Rhett where I'm always evaluating where I am in a room based on security. At a restaurant for example I hate sitting with my back to the door because I get paranoid, I like being able to see who is coming in and out and have an opportunity to react accordingly if I need to.
Haha, I love Ear Biscuits! Love how real and personal you get really wish more Mythical Beasts listened in. They'd get to know the real Rhett & Link. Also for me, Ear Biscuits is a throwback to when Rhett & Link sat down and talked to each other about life. Keep up the work gents!
I literally lack words to describe how much Ear biscuits has meant to me. You guys are what I listen to to relax at night to sleep when its hardest to calm my mind. I feel closer to my favorite people this way ❤️ thank you for what you do
I only sleep on the side of the bed that’s CLOSEST to the door, in any house we have been in. Because when the kids come in and need something, they come to me. I usually cook. My husband makes breakfast on the weekends. I really don’t like most of the food he cooks, unless it’s breakfast.
I'm going through some old Ear Biscuits again and I just have to say - I have literally never thought that Link interrupts a lot. I think it's just normal conversation - both Rhett and Link interrupt each other, when thoughts pop up and they need to get them out.. I've been watching GMM for nearly ten years, and listening to EB, and I've never thought to myself that either of them would be serial interruptors 😊
I feel like everyone at GMM gangs up on link so much. I love link because he’s just himself silly goofy fun and weird. Stop dogging on him so hard and love and support him more. Nobody’s perfect. Quit being bully’s and raining on links natural shine
Holy sxxx. When having a conversation with my mom a little while back, this subject came up. I found myself interrupting her and I asked her if I was being rude. This because I had something to say and didn't want to miss giving my input on the subject before the subject changed.
Honestly I can't imagine listening to anyone else talk about interrupting and thinking how wonderfully deep and supportive of conversation it is to a point that it's making me almost emotional. I feel weird that it make me emote this way. bff.
Had the very same conversation with my hubby a few nights ago (bed situation). I seriously thought I was the only one who felt like the “sacrificial lamb” for my husband.
It has to be a bell, or something immediately when it happens. Otherwise he won't be able to recall himself doing it. Also, he interrupted Rhett at least 20 times in this episode.
I got a Rhett & Link UA-cam ad as the midroll ad! The only time I've been ok with a midroll ad during GMM or Ear Biscuits because it's just more R&L content lol
I sleep alone and I've always liked to fall asleep on my left side but couple of days ago I've turned my bed 180° and now I sleep on my right side..and I've realised its because I like to face a wall, not a door
Interrupting after 2 to 4 words is just starting to talk at the same time & is inevitable. But Link will straight up interrupt in the middle of the second sentence of Rhett's thought. BUT Rhett talks more, so i think it's a learned behavior to even out the contributions.
I do the same thing Link..in my case I have Aspergers and I am prone to interrupting people and I try to contain myself...in saying that Rhett you do interrupt as well lol mostly when you put yourself into character. Once "that guy" shows up in conversation he doesn"t leave for a while hahahah
I’m sure Link has ADD. It’s all about how people like us focus; it can lead to interrupting. I actually don’t because I’m quiet but maybe that’s why I’m quiet? I became self conscious about how I interact. That’s why it’s good that Link has Rhett who understands him so well. I mean idk Rhett but he seems like he cares about making sure Link feels comfortable with him. Whether that’s because of empathy for him or his disposition or both it works well.
Rhett and Link are like my boyfriend and his best friend they are talking powerhouses. The command the conversation (it’s not really rude but you have to find a way to put yourself into a conversation)
Seeing these comments on Link’s side fills me with joy because he definitely interrupts more but the fact people understand his randomness and ADHD is endearing!

However, they are already very organic and real. We really are privileged to enjoy them on the level that we do. This was a very strong podcast and I absolutely loved it. I mean...I watch Rhett and Link for Rhett and Link.
Link “I’m not used to a BEAN on my left side” Neal
Well said.
Not well said. Rhett is so full of himself
I have been waiting for them to touch this subject hahahahahha
@Family Crow that laugh though..
@Family Crow I hate Rhett's self-serving and condescending attitude. That's the only thing I hate about this show
And I hate when people use the word "hate" as if they knew what the word meant. That's the only thing I hate with UA-cams comment section.
This is why you have been friends for so long. You work sh*t out and talk about it. it's great!
H J They are like a married couple, they know they want to be together so they have to talk things through and work them out.
Link’s example is literally just this episode xD he interrupted like a dozen times at least
Lol I was yelling, YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT NOW. THIS IS AN EXAMPLEEEEE LINK LOL
I just find it funny how these guys interrupt each other and bicker like an old couple. True best friends.
Link scheduling meeting to see if people think he interrupts them is like the boss in IT Crowd waging a war on stress. :D
Link can’t stop interrupting Rhett in this episode. I love Link, but i’m with Rhett on this. 20-40X/week does not sound like a stretch at all.
Edit- Rhett handled this topic brilliantly. I’ve grown to really appreciate his introspection and self-awareness.
@@wackybrattyx yeah! it's a great quality to have and one i don't think i have either loll
Giovan Guida as an only child, I agree. Lol
Cecelia Kra It’s not a big deal and he wasn’t making it one, they were answering a question and because this is a podcast they wanted to actually talk about it because I’m sure he’s been doing it for decades and they’ve never talked about it.
Why did I cry when he said "It's like having a backpack on"
My dad ALWAYS sleeps closest to the door & he has always said it's so he could tackle anyone trying to hurt mom or mom and me if we are in the same room.
Rhett is a very good at telling a story. Link is very good at verbalizing his thought processes. It's entertaining. I♡EARBiscuits
i was raised by emergency services personnel (firefighters, emts, and some police officers as friends) so i know the feeling of always assessing your tactical situation for dangers. every time i enter a room i find *EVERY SINGLE* fire escape, fire extinguisher, alarm, sprinkler, smoke detector, emergency escape, window access, what u would do if i had to jump two stories out a window, where any and all possible weappns are around me, where the defriblitor was, firat aid stations, etc.
its just engrained into my nature i guess.
Been having a rough week and listening to yall laugh and talk is making me feel better, thank you love everything yall do 👍♥️
I enjoyed this conversation because of how civil it was they were both so receptive to and of each other.
This episode was so good. The candor was amazing. Thanks so much guys!
This is day 3 in my new home. A lot of things have changed, but I'm still drinking out of my Ear Biscuits mug and watching along. Some things never change.
This podcast is so underrated
Wow the more I get to know you guys through these ear biscuits, the more I see my husband in Rhett & myself in Link! Considering your track record, and my husband and I being together 13 years and counting, whatever it is, it works!
Never thought it as interrupting. I just see it as how you to communicate. It ain't jarring.
This episode reminded me why I like these two. I feel like I see a lot of myself in both of them, and they’re two very relatable people. Awesome to listen to them be so real.
58:37 Link does the classic interruption
Sometimes Rhett says 4 or 5 incomplete sentences in a row and I'm thankful when Link interrupts.
"If I could paint a painting and then EAT IT..." I don't know why I laughed so hard at that lmao
I love these ear biscuits,
Kind of awesome to know that link is the kind of person who wants to better himself like that.
I feel like I just watched some character development.
Always start of my Sunday morning with coffee and Ear Biscuits, favorite weekend ritual ❤ thank you guys so much for these
hi everyone are power over here in new Brunswick Canada was out all day until 6pm. I like starting my Sunday morning by watching ear biscuits or GMM. I hope you have a great day. much love
I was reading the comments, you bring joy to a lot of different people for different reasons. 💕 mine is exercising. Thank you 👊
Link can't even wait to let Rhett talk about him interrupting him before he interrupts him like 15 times lol
When Rhett said "farthest from the door", I yelled "YES!", lol.
4:27 killed me haha for the most random thing 😂
I literally lack words to describe how much Ear biscuits has meant to me. You guys are what I listen to to relax at night to sleep when its hardest to calm my mind. I feel closer to my favorite people this way ❤️ thank you for what you do
I only sleep on the side of the bed that’s CLOSEST to the door, in any house we have been in. Because when the kids come in and need something, they come to me.
I usually cook. My husband makes breakfast on the weekends. I really don’t like most of the food he cooks, unless it’s breakfast.
Love listening to you guys, been a big fan for five years now!
47:22 link did exactly what rhett was talking about
Holy sxxx. When having a conversation with my mom a little while back, this subject came up. I found myself interrupting her and I asked her if I was being rude. This because I had something to say and didn't want to miss giving my input on the subject before the subject changed.
Go down the waterslide... in regards to innuendo. I love it! Lol
Rhett just said exactly what I realized about myself: I want to be further from the door
My brain functions like Link's. This is cracking me up.
I would like to note that in the process of this podcast, they both barely finished a sentence without interrupting each other.
Honestly I can't imagine listening to anyone else talk about interrupting and thinking how wonderfully deep and supportive of conversation it is to a point that it's making me almost emotional. I feel weird that it make me emote this way. bff.
Was waiting for this one for a long time! So excited to hear what they’ll say
And now try that with Rhett.
I got a Rhett & Link UA-cam ad as the midroll ad! The only time I've been ok with a midroll ad during GMM or Ear Biscuits because it's just more R&L content lol
Honestly I think link and rhett interrupt eachother just as much.
Missed opportunity to have said to watch more ear biscuits click on the playlist on the left, to watch the previous episodes click on the right.
Watching Link try to bite his tongue is hilarious
Link you interrupted Rhett at least 10 times this episode loll!
I do the same thing Link..in my case I have Aspergers and I am prone to interrupting people and I try to contain myself...in saying that Rhett you do interrupt as well lol mostly when you put yourself into character. Once "that guy" shows up in conversation he doesn"t leave for a while hahahah
I just thought it was that Link would just get too excited and can't wait to say what he wanted to say. I never thought he was doing it to be rude.
Link interrupts more than Rhett, but Rhett monologues more than Link. (But it works)
Link so proud of himself with the "Takenoff". And Rhett making the "seems good" face LOL
Rhett saying he's deferential is hilarious
In the future people will sleep above eachother in anti gravity beds.
I have noticed Link interrupting so much that it annoys me. The fact that he is unaware that Rhett is talking just shows that he also doesn't listen.
They are so sweet to eachother
Very happy to hear Rhett speak about vegan stuff at the end! :D
Yeah, what an exciting surprise!
Seeing these comments on Link’s side fills me with joy because he definitely interrupts more but the fact people understand his randomness and ADHD is endearing!
Link’s views on cooking/cleaning is the exact same way my man and I operate. I cook, he cleans. :)
