Outstanding information it took me a year or so to figure out the way my smoker works lol and I found out like you're self it's best to use smaller splits and I save so much more on my fuel I bought a full cord last year in July and I still have plenty left great looking pork butt happy new years
Very nice! Buying by the cord is most definitely the most cost effective way to go. I’m looking to change a few things on this one, to optimize its effectiveness and efficiency!
Give it a try! I’m working on a few more to try- arrangement of holes, possible basket and so on to get this thing running as clean and level as possible. Thanks for stopping in!
You're heading in the right direction with those mods Zach, that pork butt did look good, even though ya smacked the heck out of it🤣👍 thanks for sharing brother, have yourself a great one, you all stay safe!👍🍻👊🍺
Enjoying your videos 😁👍👍. Build you a fire basket with sloped sides. Lowes has expanded metal. Built one for my Wrangler and makes fire management so easy, efficient & effective
Yeah , you have me all fired up. I'm smoking tomorrow high of 34. I just picked up a bunch of oak. A very nice lady selling it. I have bought fruit wood from her before. My mods are ready to go.
Hey, saw you splitting wood on the ground. that's not good for you're back, the axe, or your foot if you miss- I'm in Sugar Land Tx and I have a splittin' stump if you want it.
Happy to see the modifications are working out for you👍😊
Thank you Bobbi! Hope you’re doing well
That Bark!!! Good work that was a great looking pork butt. Glad the mods are working out for you.
Thanks! I have a few more ideas and changes before I believe it’s maximizing its effectiveness and efficiency
@@BrisketMedic looking forward new mod ideas and cooks.
I have that same MAN knife….lol. It’s great. Great info, thanks!
Ha! Thank you!

Thanks my friend!
Great job Zach. These mods appear to be paying off for ya. Cheers !
That’s a knife! Glad to see the mods worked well. I’ll need to try your smaller splits trick. 🍻

I’ve got a few supplies together for a basket now, just need some time to make it happen! Thanks for the support!
@@BrisketMedic Awesome! Keep it elevated like in your video for more oxygen. You are going to Love It!!

Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
I never really considered what the wind would do at 40 miles an hour but I probably should
It makes it a pain to do fire management. But for sure the mods so far made it bearable

Got your email! Thanks
Where do you source your wood for smoking.
My local firewood supply is where I go, a company I trust to have good sources. Or, I cut and season my own
I believe you're right thermal mass is very important once again one small butt is not nearly enough to know whether your mods are working correctly
After multiple butts and briskets on at the same time- still working well. Thanks for the interaction!
Idaho....lmao !
I was about to mention that 🤣🤣 as soon as I filmed it I knew I was wrong.
windy there?
😂 only on days that end in “y”
