Just an update. Tried this recipe last week. After a week of soaking, I tasted my first egg today. Absolutely delicious. Added some onions to the mix and those tasted great as well. The jalapeños added just enough spice to give it a kick without being too hot. Thanks for uploading this.

OK, I've got a complaint. I was perfectly happy eating boiled eggs. In fact that's what I have for breakfast most mornings. Then I see this video in and amongst your other vids and out of curiosity I sent the link to my wife. She watched your video and much to my surprise (this was five days ago), she goes to the store and brings back 3 or 4 dozen eggs and does your pickling thing to 2 dozen which we put in a half gallon mason jar. Today I cracked them open. Oh my. You have now ruined what I used to be perfectly happy with. These are way too good. My wife doesn't even like boiled eggs and SHE likes them. (Did I mention I love my wife?) Now we're going to have to go to the trouble to make these all the time. Actually, thank you. These are WAY good!! Oh, and she sliced up the Jalapenos and I love the little Jalapeno slices as well as the eggs.

This was great! I will say that after decades of having my own fresh eggs, steaming them and peeling them still warm under cold water is the way to go. I like my eggs that I'm going to pickle to be really fresh for food safety reasons. Just as a precaution. I have made many with less fresh eggs and they were fine. My family loves a touch if fresh dill in their pepper pickled eggs.

I used a qt of ACV (no water) and picked a few rosemary sprigs from my garden and some seasonings I have, used a lil turmeric, and put them up, well last night before bed, I ate one and was like oh my already they are the bomb. Then when I got up this morning I began eating them for breakfast and I can already tell they are NOT going to last till the can eat by date in 10 days. haha girl these things rock my world. I like em! thnx so much for sharing the recipe. Oh I didn't have jalapenos but I used red pepper flakes. yum yum listening to it again I heard you say "If you can wait at least a week, that would be good." haha if you can wait right that is a big IF.

With your bubbly personality and your beautiful smile, I am so surprised that a channel like the Food Network hasn't solicited you for a reality type show. I recently discovered your channel as I mentioned before through Doug and Stacy and I look forward every day to seeing your new video. You and your husband have a channel that I know will become very successful in the future. If I can make a suggestion or comment without sounding critical because that is not my intention at all, I think you should not wear the hats. You have such beautiful hair and I know that the hats are probably just more efficient on the homestead but you're hiding your beauty anyways just my opinion. One way or another I love your videos, I love your family, and I love what you and your husband do. PS you may for your own personal reasons, not feature your children in your videos but if that's not an issue a lot of my favorite homesteading channels, or channels that feature the entire family including the children. It just shows a sense of unity and goals for the entire family, again just my opinion. God bless

🤔 will need to try this. Never had pickled eggs. Off topic, could you make a video of kitchen appliance every homestead kitchen should have? Pleeease. I’m gathering things here and there to be ready when we move. But want to make sure I have at least the essential tools and kitchen equipment. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

We heat the brine up to 140 degrees F before we pour over eggs, that accelerates the picking a bit. Let cool to room temp then place in fridge.
The spices can be added or adjusted as desired. Dill is nice, when I don't have fresh hot peppers I use a ground mix.
If your brave try a few cloves. Use a pint jar instead for testing new "trials" with 3 eggs . Record n mark jars.
We date n hold normally 10 days at that time using hot brine method will be clear thru to yoke. 20 days all the way.
Your vinegar can't be to steep unless u want rubber style eggs. I kind of stick to 1to1 ratio.
    Keep teaching em. Enjoy.

That looks so very good!! Will try that Spicy twist for sure. I hope some of your subscribed readers will try steaming the eggs instead of boiling, they peel so much easier, if you try it once you will not boil another egg!! I wish I had learned that little trick fifty or sixty years ago. Love your videos may god bless you & yours!!

How long do you steam them?

    • @gladys20121

@@Katalinmason I get my water steaming and I put the cold eggs right in the basket. I haven't had any cold eggs crack in the hot steam. I read somewhere that putting cold eggs right into the hot steam makes them easier to peel. I steam large eggs for 15 minutes. They are delicious.

Do you use your Instant pot to make your hard boiled egg? They cook in 5 minutes after coming up to pressure and peeling is a dream. Shells come off effortlessly. Love your videos.....Mardy from Pennsylvania and now Palm Harbor Florida
