This is awesome, I googled everywhere how to add a field to thrive leads and you made thrive leads so much more than just an email list grower. Thank you!!!!
Hi Joshua, glad you found my tutorial useful. Thrive Leads and the Thrive products in general can do so much for a Wordpress website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
I'm playing with it right now. I literally was explaining to a client how much time CSS was taking with Gravity forms. Looks like this might be the "easy button." - Have you done anything with multi-stage/page forms?
I've been playing around with integrating them with Thrive Leads. There are some neat things you can do with the multi-step opt-in forms that come with Thrive Leads. I'll make a video on that soon.
They are calling multi-step - a click of a button and then a form, I am referring to where you fill out a form (like a long survey). Can't wait to see your new video.
Doug, this literally saved my life. Was trying to figure out how to send leads to my client through Thrive Leads. By using gravity forms WITH Thrive Leads, you literally just made the 2+ hour hunt of figuring this out so rewarding. Thank you mate.
Remove the "action" variable (edit the HTML form) and leave it blank: action="" Then set the fields required in GForm and Thrive Leads interface. Tested and confirmed that will yield proper validation errors.
Awesome, thanks! Unfortunately I'm not quite there yet - that's stopped it redirecting but I don't see any error messages, whether it's a required or formatted field. What exactly do you mean by 'set the fields required in GForm and Thrive Leads'? The fields are in place and I've tested them with and without custom error text in GForms, same result - the validation works but doesn't communicate anything. Am I missing something?
Wow! Exactly what I needed. Btw, I have done over 200 websites in Thrive. Thanks Shane. My other fav theme is Avada but after Thrive Architect, Thrive is my fav now.
I agree that Thrive is THE best tool for making websites in Wordpress. I was using Avada for a couple of years prior, and I can't even begin to tell you how much faster and feature-rich the Thrive experience has been compared to Avada.
This is such a good tutorial but something is causing this process not to work for me. When I copy html into the thrive integration tool, the form does not show the radio buttons (payment options). So that simple copy and paste element step is not working for me. Please help.... Thanks
Well done and thank you for making this video, my form created an additional field but I was able to make it invisible with the responsive settings, best video of the day!
I'm so glad it helped! That extra field is most likely from the "Honeypot" anti-spam being active. I recommend you disable that if you run into any issues. Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial. Super helpful, but it seems like Thrive's editor no longer works to style everything. Which is too bad.
Hi Doug. Thanks for the great video. Do you know how to make the Recaptcha properly show up when using this method? For me when I have the Captcha added on the Gravity Form, it just shows up in Thrive Themes/Architect as an extra form field with that placeholder text of "g-recaptcha-response".
Nice work. Quick question, do you know how to get the calendar to show up for date fields so the user doesn't get an error if they don't use mm/dd/yyyy etc..?
The date field is a tough one. I don't think you'll be able to easily integrate a date picker with the Thrive Leads tools. Best I've done with dates is create a text field and use the description to ask for mm/dd/yyyy.
This is the perfect video at the perfect time. Let me ask you @Marketer Doug. I am planning on using the aweber Gravity forms addon, in your opinion would this setup also add the lead to my aweber list?
Yeah, I don't see why not. If you Gravity Form AWeber plugin sends those who fill out the form to AWeber, then Thrive Leads shouldn't get it the way. I have a MailChimp plugin that does the same thing, and this works perfectly fine with it.
This is fantastic, thanks! Just a question, I have created a questionnaire using GForms and used this method to embed it into a landing page. my field names or in this case the field questions have not come across from GForms to Thrive. All other fields and inputs are working exactly as they should. Would you have any idea why this may be? Thanks in advance
I have a slight problem when editing the form elements. All elements seem editable with Thrive except for the textarea. I'm trying to change its font color, but it won't do it... Any workarounds for this would be awesome!
I guess that would just depend on how your payments are set up to process through Gravity Forms. I don't see why not, as long as the fields were compatible via the HTML form fields.
Thanks for making this. However, it doesn't work as described. When you copy the Preview code, it will try to redirect through a preview page and ask the user to login. In order for it to work, you have to embed the form normally using the shortcode on the page you want to use, then copy the form element code on that page and paste it into the HTML form code section. The form action=" " must be equal to the page the form is on too. With those mods it works great!
You can remove the form action entirely, or you can replace it with your thank-you page. You can see more of a walkthrough where I utilize this approach with WPForms. It works identically with Gravity Forms. I can confirm that this works as did this last night for a client. Here's the link: www.marketerdoug.com/how-to-use-thrive-leads-thrive-architect-with-wpforms/
I ran into this same issue. When I used the action="", removed it, or replaced it with my thank you page, the form submissions were not recorded. I'm not sure why it's different on my end. It worked okay when I had the form preview code in - I didn't even notice that was the case until I ran into a validation error, but those submissions worked. Any ideas what might be happening for me?
The only time I ever ran into an issue with the form submissions not recording was when I was using a lightbox and not properly configuring my thank-you page redirect within gravity forms itself. Both Gravity forms and the action="" should be configured for the thankyou page. If possible, can you create a video showing how you're setting everything up? Something similar to the walkthrough I did above. That will help diagnose the problem.
Remove the "action" variable and leave it blank: action="" Then set the fields required in GForm and Thrive Leads interface. Tested and confirmed that will yield proper validation errors.

Zac - That's awesome. I'm so glad you were able to get what you needed!
A fantastic presentation, clear and concise - well done.
This is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much for making this tutorial!!!!
I'm glad it helped you, Becki! Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much, been looking for a way to do this for ages! Going to give this a go.
Good luck! If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Thanks - I do have a question, actually. Have you found a way to stop validation errors redirecting to a preview of the gravity form?
Remove the "action" variable (edit the HTML form) and leave it blank: action="" Then set the fields required in GForm and Thrive Leads interface. Tested and confirmed that will yield proper validation errors.

Did you mark the fields as required using Thrive Architect / Thrive Leads?
Completely agree Sir. I also personally feel that in Thrive speed of making pages is much faster because of its WYSIWYG editor
This is such a good tutorial but something is causing this process not to work for me. When I copy html into the thrive integration tool, the form does not show the radio buttons (payment options). So that simple copy and paste element step is not working for me. Please help.... Thanks

I just did a test and I was able to stylize in Thrive just like the video. What part isn't working for you?
Fantastic video. Everything worked perfectly as described. Thank you!
can you do this for contact form 7?
Thank you very much

Hello. Thank you for such an awesome video. This is one the most useful tips regarding Gravity forms and Thrive Architect. Cheers.
Hi! Thank you it works but what happen whith validations messages
Amazing, thank you for this!
The process works great for me except the reCAPTCHA box doesn't display, any ideas?
Same. I just posted a the same question before seeing your comment here.
When Form is submitted blank, it gets redirected to form-preview in Gravity forms and doens't stays on designed page.
You need to change the action="" to your thank-you page or leave it blank and set a Thrive Leads confirmation message.
Nice work.
Quick question, do you know how to get the calendar to show up for date fields so the user doesn't get an error if they don't use mm/dd/yyyy etc..?

Thank you Marketer Doug.
This is fucking brilliant. You just saved me

I guess that would just depend on how your payments are set up to process through Gravity Forms. I don't see why not, as long as the fields were compatible via the HTML form fields.

Good to know, probably better to just remove it entirely. Do you recommend WP Forms over Gravity Forms?
I personally prefer WPForms only because it has a better back end and user experience. Both accomplish the same thing.
I ran into this same issue. When I used the action="", removed it, or replaced it with my thank you page, the form submissions were not recorded. I'm not sure why it's different on my end. Looks like the most recent update to Thrive Architect may have broken the HTML form input. They are aware of the issue and will be issuing a fix asap.
Make sure your Thrive Leads and all Thrive plugins are completely up to date. The validation errors go away once you update.
That's strange. It shouldn't modify the HTML. It should simply push those fields while representing them visually with the Thrive Leads interface.
Remove the "action" variable and leave it blank: action="" Then set the fields required in GForm and Thrive Leads interface. Tested and confirmed that will yield proper validation errors.
Doug, has the HTML input form been fixed? I had this set up nicely a few months ago but now it seems to be broken.
Yep, it's working for me. I just built up several forms yesterday using HTML and Thrive.
TY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're most welcome!
