The ground can’t force a fumble unless it is somehow knocked out before anywhere but the feet or hands touch the ground. The ground can cause an incompletion if the WR never possesses the ball in his hands and makes contact with the ground.
@@User-wh1mh By the time the ball came loose, the play was over and a completion was signaled. At any rate, there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call, so the call of a completion should have stood. The announcers thought so, too. The officials blew it.

The refs were so unfair because if Nebraska goes to a bowl game (which the would've if they won this game) the B10 gets more money and the refs get paid more. Also F Nebraska
The refs were terrible indeed, but your theory is nonsensical. The salary that the refs receive isn't contingent on how many B1G teams make it to bowl games.
@@finnjones1358 Sorry, but you don't understand how betting works. Crooked refs (such as Tim Donaghy) don't make their money by changing the actual outcome of the game; it's more subtle than that. Instead, they will focus on whether the favored team will cover the spread, since that's always the easiest way for them to make a buck. In this case, Iowa was a 4 point favorite, so if these refs were truly betting in Vegas, it would have been to their advantage to make sure Iowa put more points on the scoreboard. Anyway, instead of whining about the refs or subscribing to conspiracy theories, just be satisfied with the fact that our Hawkeyes are shooting for another 10-win season.

@@mckinleywebb5910 actually I am familiar. The majority of the wins and streaks your citing came prior to the fall of the third Reich!! The majority of the players on the team today weren't even born yet the last time the huskers brought home a title. What is far more telling about the state of the program and the rivalry is how they have performed since coming to the Big 10 in 2011. Soo please.. if you wanna come in here and puff your chest, try pulling some stats from THIS millennium.
Eli Field trouble is, nobody cares about bowl games anymore - it’s all about making the playoffs now pretty soon all the toilet bowls will be replaced with extended playoff games that people actually want to see (& actually mean something)

"where's your national championships?" They say, not realizing their last trophy came 22 years ago.. slipping into irrelevance if you ask me. "well Nebraska has a 12 game win streak against Iowa" they say,... Yeah back before the fall of the third Reich, I reply. Not really indicative of the current program is it? "Iowa is content with mediocrity" they say. Well I just read an interesting stat this morning that really speaks to Iowas alleged "mediocrity". Only 9 power 5 FBS programs have been able to sustain 8+ win seasons over the last 5 years. Wisconsin, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma, and... Iowa. That's the company Iowa keeps. Maybe that something those farmers of inferior corn to the west should consider while they're not going to a bowl game this winter.
this loss, & this entire season for Nebraska, have NOTHING to do with Scott Frost & everything to do with Adrian Martinez being a horrible QB.. check the stats for this game (+ the rest of the season..) & you’ll see horrible numbers for Martinez; low TD’s, low completions, low rush yards, & so many interceptions based on poor decision making.. the rest of Nebraska’s team has definitely improved during the year - that’s obvious from them even being in this game at all, but if Frost doesn’t replace Martinez with McCaffery next year, they will have another marginal season & lose the same amount of close games Martinez had a positive season last year because he was unexpected, made quick decisions in the pocket, & used his legs to move the ball - this year? he spent way too much time in the pocket, couldn’t make a decision to throw or run, chose very poorly on when/where to throw, did not throw well, & couldn’t rush for much of anything because by the time he made the decision to run the opening was already gone I see a lot of hate for the refs on here, but I think Nebraska could have won this game if Frost had put McCaffery in the second half instead of Martinez.. I think Frost is a great coach, & I’m not going to criticize the guy based on a couple years with very tough recruiting (I’ll give him a couple more years before I can fairly criticize him), but I simply don’t understand what he sees in Martinez & think his decision to keep trusting him is what is really hurting the program at this point.. as long as Martinez is the QB, Nebraska will lose :/
I remember right after this same thing happened last year where Iowa won by a field goal. Happily, gazpachos have gotten smoother since (gracias, el blender!), though the trick that imparts its velvety texture-soaking the bread in the liquid first-remains fundamental.
Wow Nebraska can’t even pull off a win with the refs setting a game for them 😂 Iowa won twice in my eyes, beat Nebraska and beat the refs, GO HAWKS BABY!!!

Refs were working hard for nebraska!!!
Mostly in the forth they were making Iowa win
@Energetic Wave whatever justification you need, meanwhile ... a Nebraska continues to be irrelevant and forgotten for close to 20 years
Energetic Wave if those calls were brought our way like they should have been you fools would have lost 40 something to 24. You’re just salty the huskers lost again
The ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause an incomplete pass???
The ground can’t force a fumble unless it is somehow knocked out before anywhere but the feet or hands touch the ground. The ground can cause an incompletion if the WR never possesses the ball in his hands and makes contact with the ground.
@@User-wh1mh By the time the ball came loose, the play was over and a completion was signaled. At any rate, there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call, so the call of a completion should have stood. The announcers thought so, too. The officials blew it.
Randy Steele if you were at the stadium they should a view that clearly showed him hitting the ground and forcing it loose, I saw it online and it had a view that was hard to tell,if you saw it and you were unbiased you would call it incomplete.
Louis Mixan but the refs saw the same view tha people watching on tv did
the missed calls... late hit on sargent, nicos catch, ISM targeting, should not have been as close as it was.
I honestly couldn’t believe ALL OF THOSE CALLS for went to Nebraska at the end there. I was astounded.

When Luke threw a touchdown on his first play my mom thought he croud was saying boo so my dad replayed it and said they are saying. Luke.
I remember being really drunk watching this game and screaming at the tv because the refs kept trying to screw Iowa
But it was a good game
im being as unbiased as possible when i say that was one of the worst officiated games i have genuinely ever watched.
Worse than SEC officials?
David Hutchinson I’ve seen badly officiated SEC games but this game was terrible. Any call that could have gone Nebraska’s way did
I screwed up and thought the game was tomorrow for some reason, guess it's the first Iowa Hawkeye football game I've missed in a long time but boooo. At least they won.
Just don't let it happen again. We almost lost because of you.

They hold Mich to 10, PSU to 17, Wisky to no more than 24...but the Huskers out did them all...and it cost me a fucking G. Bullshit game. Naturally the fucking pick 6 just HAS to go NE way and of course, Iowa just cannot stop the bleeding. wtf happened in the third qtr. I guess someone forgot to tell Ferenz that Neb sucks. Bullshit.

The refs were so unfair because if Nebraska goes to a bowl game (which the would've if they won this game) the B10 gets more money and the refs get paid more. Also F Nebraska
Fight4Iowa it was so obvious it was gross.
The refs were terrible indeed, but your theory is nonsensical. The salary that the refs receive isn't contingent on how many B1G teams make it to bowl games.
@@posysdogovych2065 If that's the case then they were betting in vegas because the favoritism was shown at every single time.

Straight from the ncaa rulebook:
"No originally ineligible receiver shall be or have been more than three yards beyond the neutral zone until a passer throws a legal forward pass that crosses the neutral zone. A player is in violation of this rule if any part of his body is beyond the three-yard limit"
At 5:28 number 75 is clearly 4 yards downfield before the ball is throw. That shouldn't have been a touchdown. Dude was run blocking.

I think some Nebraska fans decided to wear black and white on that final Iowa drive.
@George Washington Iowa beat the Huskers and refs this afternoon.
A clear and obvious Iowa catch was overturned, despite their being no sign of the ball moving in his hands (the initial call was a catch). A few plays later, a Nebraska targeting was overturned despite leading with the crown of the helmet into the WRs helmet.
Evil Kermit u forgot a missed face mask and a Nebraska player throwing a punch and the refs not calling it and the hourse caller that wasn’t called and the last play where Iowa made the field goal and refs tried to call something on them. Worst refs ever.
True, seems like Scott Frost was paying the refs lmfao 😂.
Evil Kermit the ball hit the ground and he fumbled it out so incomplete and it was his shoulder clearly were good calls
At the 5:24 mark there was an ineligible receiver down field - the lineman #75 was clearly passed the line of scrimmage. Where are the refs????
Nebraska should move back to the Big 12.
Jayhawk Life They’d get their ass kicked even more
@joe mama-agreed. The B12 is better than the B10 West. They had a lot of success against Kansas though. The Kansas-Nebraska rivalry is the 2nd most lopsided in the FBS behind Bedlam.
You can have them.
Yeah can't handle the big ten in they put the big ten down anyway.
Why would the Big 12 want them? They bailed out for more $$$.

Nebraska also has the biggest victory: 57-0 and the longest winning streak 8 and two streaks of 5. Also 5 undisputed National championships. Nobody cares about a made up Heroes Trophy. Give Nebraska a a call when Iowa wins a real National Championship or beats Nebraska 25 times or 8 in a row. It's not like they are rolling over Nebraska as most of the games have been pretty close.
@@mckinleywebb5910 actually I am familiar. The majority of the wins and streaks your citing came prior to the fall of the third Reich!! Nobody from that era is even alive anymore and it certainly isn't indicative of where the program stands today. And those national championships came 20+ years ago!! The majority of the players on the team today weren't even born yet the last time the huskers brought home a title. What is far more telling about the state of the program and the rivalry is how they have performed since coming to the Big 10 in 2011. Frost probably paid the refs to favor them the whole game but it didn’t work.
We all know that Nebraska fans are stuck in the 90's, and we all know the lines they like to use to subtract from Iowa's success and domination over their program.
Cody Nieman Good comment
this loss, & this entire season for Nebraska, have NOTHING to do with Scott Frost & everything to do with Adrian Martinez being a horrible QB..
check the stats for this game (+ the rest of the season..) & you’ll see horrible numbers for Martinez; low TD’s, low completions, low rush yards, & so many interceptions based on poor decision making.. the rest of Nebraska’s team has definitely improved during the year - that’s obvious from them even being in this game at all, but if Frost doesn’t replace Martinez with McCaffery next year, they will have another marginal season & lose the same amount of close games
Martinez had a positive season last year because he was unexpected, made quick decisions in the pocket, & used his legs to move the ball - this year? he spent way too much time in the pocket, couldn’t make a decision to throw or run, chose very poorly on when/where to throw, did not throw well, & couldn’t rush for much of anything because by the time he made the decision to run the opening was already gone
I see a lot of hate for the refs on here, but I think Nebraska could have won this game if Frost had put McCaffery in the second half instead of Martinez..
Eh, Iowa will win next year again any way😉
@Cody G ..who said anything about the refs?
I remember right after this same thing happened last year where Iowa won by a field goal. Nebraska fans were pissed and saying Iowa was going to suck next year and that Nebraska was supposed to be awesome next year and to look out for them next year cause of their quarterback. That's why I hate Nebraska.
