Minish Cap is probably one of my all time favorite handheld games. The story, music, and controls for a GBA game were stellar for it's time/technological capabilities. This game will always have a special place in my heart.
I got curious of the handheld zelda music since besides link's awakening, phantom hourglass, and a bit of the oracle games, I hadn't heard the others' full soundtrack or played the other games. Spirit tracks' overworld theme is the most memorable and the exception. But then I get to the minish cap, and the soundtrack was just so good in comparison to the others - remixes of old songs certainly helped. It's like they finally realized the soundtrack needed care too, instead of just getting by. Link between worlds was also a great one. Triforce heroes was good from what I remember but I never finished it.
I used to spend hours just walking around the minish village as a child just to hear the music and interact with the minish, it was my favourite as a child and now it's my favourite 2D tloz game
@@Arcryoshi I was mostly thinking of that one when I wrote my comment. But also, "Link's Awakening", "Select Screen (Zelda)", "Sword Search", "Marin's House", "Let the Journey Begin!", "Mabe Village", "Seashell Mansion", "Marin & Link Duet", "Ballad of the Wind Fish [Japanese Vocals]", "Dream Shrine", "Tal Tal Heights", "Staff Credits", and all the dungeon level tracks.
Hearing Hyrule Town from Minish Cap made me so emotional. It's genuinely my favorite Zelda of all time, it got me into the games. I'm so glad you included Minish Cap. Thank you.
I listen to a lot of loz music during work, but most lists get pretty repetitive after a while. Thanks for this list! I love the handheld titles, but a lot of their music gets slept on. Sword search and skull dungeon my beloved!
4:00 The Ocean in Tri Force Heroes is such an underrated track, it is just magnificent and exquisite..... I hope to see it referenced in a future Zelda because it really deserves more love from the community.
It’s interesting because he’s right, these are all great themes, but since Zelda is a sea of amazing music, these pieces often get left out in a medley or your average Zelda & Chill playlist. And I’ve played many of these games but I was shocked at how many I didn’t know or DID know but couldn’t guess what game they were from. It actually challenged me to listen more closely to the instrumentation of the piece and guess what game it was based on the style of that game’s music (which was very fun). Thanks for making this playlist!
In The Fields from Spirit Tracks has legit been stuck in my head from the first time I played it YEARS ago. It's so fun! Honestly, that might go for all Spirit Tracks OST's. All the ones on here are ones I can clearly remember
Some more underappreciated tunes: Gate of Time (Skyward Sword), Goddess Statue Shrine (Skyward Sword), Zelda Awakens (Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons)
glad your still making these your mixes where always my favorite and all the others i would listen to are gone or are just not making any new ones so i always get happy to see a new upload these are great to read to or if i get tired of a games ost i will just mute it and put on one of your videos
So a lot of 2D Zelda’s on handhelds? Seems about right, there’s a lot of tracks in these that don’t get a ton of attention However, your very first one is one I’d argue gets a lot of love
Opening with the Link's Awakening remake track was great. That has to be one of not the best remakes I've ever played. It felt like a lot of love was put into it, including musically.
man 9:30 spirit tracks was my first zelda ever i remember getting in the first field area and i stopped because i absolutely loved this song everytime this song started i would stop to listen to it for 5mins and then play the game thanks for the memories
After being disappointed with the Phantom Hourglass soundtrack, I was extremely joyous once I walked into the fields and hear this track. I couldn't stop listening. It's kinda fun to throw that track on during a road trip when traveling through rural lands.
I loved the OST for the Link's Awakening remake, I'm glad you opened with it's staff roll (ironically), it's a beautiful piece and haven't seen any kind of appreciation towards it. I'm a bit bummed regarding Ryo Nagamatsu's departure from Nintendo (I always thought his music in general was underrated among the community) as I thought he really outdid himself with the remake and wanted to see more of him in the Zelda franchise, but apparently that's not going to happen. Either way, I wish him well in his future endeavors.
Nobody else is talking about this, but I’m so glad you put in tri force hero’s music. That game is beyond underrated, under appreciated, and over-forgotten to hell, I got this game in 2016 and I had a blast playing this game with friends and online, the multiplayer in tri force heros is probably the most fun I’ve had with a multiplayer game ever!
the ocean/riverside from triforce heroes is literally my favorite track out of all the games. nothing can beat the nostalgia i feel when i listen to this one compared to the others. so so happy to finally see it on a playlist, triforce has so many underrated tracks that im just in love with
These are all good songs! My family doesn’t understand Zelda music like I do (It’s just about all I listen to). I’m still to embarrassed to ask my band director to have us play the main zelda battle in a concert. I might just have to mention it now. I’m literally dying to hear Zelda tunes in my head, and the vibrations in my feet. 🎼

Glad to see the Dancing Dragon Dungeon get some credit, the Oracle games' soundtracks tend to get panned for some tracks being a bit boring or grating, but when they're good, they're really good and I wish more people recognized that. The dragon really do be dancing.
I finished the final project of my psychology major to this playlist. Thank you for other memories and the help studying. I can't wait to listen to your playlists in Grad School!!
I think music preference is like film preference ,Zelda game preference.. everyone has different taste..these songs are underrated but appriciated glad you made this video
You are the only music compilation UA-camr that I know of that balances their sound levels before uploading. I don't know if you're doing this on purpose, but I appreciate it a lot.
Crescent Island - Oracles of ages. Not underappreciated. You're forced to listen to it wayyyy too long because you're trapped there trying to understand the trade sequence forever! XD
Fantastic idea for a playlist. I lament how Face Shrine almost never appears on playlists because it’s too niche, but is too well known to appear on a list of under-appreciated tracks? Given the quality of the song, it deserves to be much more widely used…
This is great 👌 it's funny because I was gonna recommend making a playlist with underrated music. Sometimes I come across great OSTs with shockingly lower views
I like this list, but the very second I saw "Milk Bar" I began checking for Majora's Mask tracks. TWO TRACKS from * drawing air * MAJORA'S FUCKING MASK?! On this list? Hyperfail, when's part 2 coming? Guess it's really subjective, after all.
Spot on! These are great tunes. I was getting tired of the great tracks getting overshadowed by the generic BotW and TotK songs that are honestly mediocre compared to past games.
personally pokemon hast the best OST, very experimental, takes risks but with huge payoff and sounds very nostalgic and beautiful. Sonic also has many bangers but is a bit inconsistent . sorry for bad english,,
i think ALBW's "Hyrule at Peace" soundtrack piece is severely underrated. Although, I do think it's rather short... Could do for some extension or added melody........ *STILL* great music.
Minish Cap is probably one of my all time favorite handheld games. The story, music, and controls for a GBA game were stellar for it's time/technological capabilities. This game will always have a special place in my heart.
god the music slaps so hard, and man minish cap is so much fun. I need to resume my playthru 🥲

The music of the remake of Link's Awakening is just such a vibe...
Link's Awakening music just makes me cry every time
bro you literally cooked with all of these. I love them all and I feel like they're always missed in favor of the more popular songs in zelda
The Parasailing minigame music in BOTW always felt like the composers going "see, this is STILL Zelda (:"
This playlist keeps its promise to a tee. Absolute fantastic choices all the way through.
and I don't care what peeps feels about not liking the train aspect of Spirit Tracks or whatever it still has great music
This is my new favorite soundtrack to work and study to. Thanks for sharing!

I don't appreciate these songs as much as I should.
8:10 YAS QUEEN, SOME MINISH CAP !!! This game is so underestimated !
Is "Farewell Hyrule King" underappreciated? I don't really see people talk about it much and it's always been one of my favorites.
