I've used his work for a few years now as examples for the High School Ceramics class that I teach. We do a Graffiti in clay project and they really get inspired my Roberto. I hope to see his work in person someday. This is a great segment that I'll share with my class when we get to that unit.
I was so moved by this piece...creativity...it is not anger nor frustration...it is how you transform it into a love so tangible...we feel when we see the art
CBS Sunday Morning you’ve done it again!!!! Love these stories that children can see and have a spark that they too, no matter the circumstances, can do and be successful outside the social box! So inspirational!!!!!🙏🏾
Great job, Roberto. So glad you found ceramics. I remember when I started throwing pots, it felt like being a kid and playing in the mud again. Truly an inspiration!
These are the kind of stories I love 💕! Real people who became successful and give back to the community. I'm delighted to hear that he is so successful because he deserves it 🎉! Keep up the good work, Roberto 😁😁
You exemplify the simple but truest humanitarian example of what I liken to the "if I won the lottery" that so many seek. Yours was not the lottery as such, but is so rewarding and based on the ground and family that "if" wasn't the focus. It was "I" lived that dream because of ground and family. As that expanded I want others to have that peace. My thoughts, may you an your family enjoy and stay safe. From an old WG in Austin.
I’ve never done much pottery in my day, but I have heard about it, but haven’t developed much interest in it- at least, not yet. I know that it’s one of those terrific hobbies , as well as artistic creations to have, when it comes to passing the time. Roberto must have a great unique style of living his life, along with pottery, indeed.
crazy dope art 6 degrees I've been in the artist studios like off that same KENSINGTON corner! #restorativejustice thru #healingarts proud of YOUR HERITAGE ARTS DISCIPLINE
This is awesome....Congrats Mr. Lugo. Si se puede....Nosotros del Barrio Pudimos y Hicimos....Lets keep breaking the chains and give back to our home...North Philly Badlands....Howard and Dauphin....Kensington...Latinos are strong
Kensington was a huge part of the industrial might of Philadelphia once upon a time. Deindustrialization, starting in the late 70s, is what happened there. The first Rocky ( Rocky lived in Kensington) movie shows what Kensington was like before its decline.
Pottery open up new doors for people who don't know what to do with their life. I use to make pottery at the Harford community college in Maryland ,and I miss it. My pottery was like a professional potter.
He looks just like my cousin. Talented brother 🇵🇷👍🏾 America socially engineered the ghetto and we Afro descendants from America and the Caribbean, took that sabotaging construction and created art, music, and the soul of American culture
I would love to send you an Olga Global head band to wear when you create your work! Where can I send this headband I would be honored for you to have it! Gina in lights
This moved me. Bravo, Roberto. A true artist. And beautiful human. I hope to see some of his work in person one day.
I’ve seen it in person and it’s very nice. I love all that he has created
If anyone is able to do what Roberto is able to instead of being mad or vengeful, we all should have a Roberto inside us to make a better world.
I started tearing up when he said that he took the image of Lincoln off of food stamps. Hard times...
Not hard times. Hard work supplement.
Roberto, this made me cry.. imagine if you never met Jay or attended our community college. We love you!

I like to have art studio soon to bring pottery to my neighborhood. To show young people where more to than sorrow.
