I checked my youtube and browser history , checked reddit post that I've saved, I also checked my amazon order history. This is what I've found. 1. I like gaming because of stories. (bottom line is I like experiencing stories in any format) 2. I've tons of technology products at my home. Build my computer myself. I'm tech savvy. 3. I like reading and learning about self improvement. I've created a couple of videos about it but I stopped. 4. I like fitness, working out everyday, meditation, cold shower, deep breathig etc. and guess what business I'm running? It's a digital marketing agency. I got good results but I'm stuck after losing all my clients due to pandemic. I'm intermediate in digital marketing but absolutely amazing in closing high ticket deals over zoom. (I stopped closing deals for others that because I can't pass this down to my kids in the future) I'm stuck. This video gave me clarity. *Now, I"m stuck among those 4 niches I shared above. Any advice on selecting one out of them?*
You blown my mind! After so many attempts to find a niche I found it during 5 mins while watching you video! :) I gonna do some digital online business around my passion - Guitars!
Happy new year Matt. Excellent video. I need to invest into a new site in 2022 and this has really helped me get closer to deciding how/what to go with. :-)
Thanks! Honestly, I would never even start to build a site with the intention to sell. I would build a site with the intention to hold on to it forever and grow it and earn passive income. If I sold it later, it would be worth so much more. But I would buy a site, improve it, and sell it quickly. That's the only way. I wouldn't start it from scratch. I'd buy an existing site and make it better. But honestly, even that sucks because then I'd have to keep doing that in order to make money, trading my time for income. Instead, I'd build something that paid off forever with less and less of my time.
What if the niche is something local to your area? So it can't possibly be scaled beyond a certain figure (unless I go on Tiktok and turn it into something completely different). So I have this page / website about local food places I've started for fun but I can hardly grow it beyond a few K subs simply because it's local. Is something like that worth pursuing?
I think it is. I have friends who have local sites and make good money with advertising. They host a podcast, UA-cam channel, and have a blog. They do keyword research and everything and continue to scale within their local area and make decent money per month. But it does take a while like any other site. You'll have less traffic, but it'll be quality traffic.
I get your message about not letting competition scare you from following your passion but... "Don't Do Research" ?? 😑You know how dumb (in the data-driven world of 2022) that sounds, right?
Your comment is contradictory. It sounds like you don’t understand. Don’t do your research when you pick your niche! Not when you’re building. The problem is, most people suck at picking niches because they get hung up on research. And to be honest, most people don’t even know how to read data driven metrics. That’s a skill that needs to be developed.

This comment inspired me to create my next video. Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/MFGZoNLFBsQ/v-deo.html
This whole video is great! My favorite part: "Pick a niche and GO". Focus on building the skillset and the workflow.
Boom!
Hey just to mention that the end of your video really hit me deep.. I feel both anxious and relieved at the same time, thank you

The part about researching competitors, getting impostor syndrome, and talking yourself out of an idea. So relatable. 😅
Yup. I literally can't even look or I won't do it.

Marvelous Matt! 🙌
Thanks!
Was so good this, I'm back to watch it again
Sweet
Loved this video. What would you do differently if you were building a site to sell vs to keep?

Thanks bro, needed to hear this.

Thanks!
