Sesbania is a good small tree. Sunn hemp and jack bean are good as compact temporary supports. Gliricidia is good because you can shape it any way you want. Ice cream bean is good because you can constantly hack it back. Aside from nitrogen fixers, I really like African blue basil and fennel
@@thedomestead3546aloha! These plants we call La’i or Ti leaf. It is a very easy plant to propagate here so we use it as a border plant. It can make a good living fence. The green La’i we use to make lei and to wrap foods that are steamed. Awa is a very important plant to native Hawaiians that we are also interested in growing and even though my wife is native Hawaiian people are very guarded here about sharing planting material so we have yet to get ahold of it. 🤙
@@ainabearfarm8075 had Mauna Kea Awa in ground here and it did great. I transplanted it out of the greenhouse with Bananas and it didn't like the heat here, so I lost them all. Root was 💪. Bula

Thank you. I love having living walkways and perennial peanut is my favorite; you just have to be prepared to stay on top of it. 🤙
What support species do well there? I'm looking for something other than pigeon pea.

That peppery plant looked from a distance like nasturtium. Just a guess.
