    • @ChalkingUpSuccess
      @ChalkingUpSuccess  3 роки тому

      Hi there, yes, I think you could sew this by hand. You would need strong thread and very small and neat stitches. To sew the box cover, a running/basting stitch should be good if they are small enough. Good luck sewing your tufted mattress cushion! 🙋

    While making a tuft with the upholstery needle, why do you need to push the needle through more than twice, I’m confused by that..

    • @ChalkingUpSuccess
      @ChalkingUpSuccess  3 роки тому +1

      It really depends on the thickness of your fabric. I wanted to make a larger 'knot' so that it wouldn't pull through the fabric.

    Is there a way to keep the tufts but add a zipper to make the fabric machine washable? Like adding snaps into the indents and snapping in the cover or using buttons?

    • @stephaniestange662
      @stephaniestange662 4 роки тому +1

      Because you’re hooking into the batting which is attached to the foam, no :/ I wanted to do the same.

    • @ChalkingUpSuccess
      @ChalkingUpSuccess  4 роки тому +1

      Aziza, with this style of cushion, being able to take up some of the batting and foam is what gives the cushion it's mattress look so removing the cover is not possible.🙋

    • @ChalkingUpSuccess
      @ChalkingUpSuccess  4 роки тому

      Yes, that's right Stephanie. Mine is on the window seat in our walk-in wardrobe and not in a high maintenance area. If and when it gets dirty I will take it to the dry cleaners for professional cleaning. 🙋

    • @azizacraig89
      @azizacraig89 4 роки тому

      @@ChalkingUpSuccess Couldn't you still hook into the batting, attach some snaps into the indents of the batting (either with fabric glue or snapping it into scrap fabric and stitching that into the indents of the batting so the snap is facing up if that makes sense) and then add a snap on the underside/through the top (like how you snap jeans together) of the cover (with either a zipper on the sides or more snaps?) Then when you wanted to wash it you just pull apart the snaps and undo the zipper if you have one.

    Hi, very beautiful. Question: the dots at the top and on the side of the cushion are aligned? I mean: if you draw a line between them it would give you, in this case, a 90 ° angle? Or in other words: a straight line? Thanks!

    • @ChalkingUpSuccess
