That Harley playing with you sounded like a lawnmower mower compared to the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie sounds remarkably similar to an air cooled N/A 911 which means it sounds freaking amazing.

Thanks, bro! Since you commented I was watching videos about the Crossplane R1, learnt a lot 👍🏻 I would put the Valkyrie on 1st place. I’m opinionated though 😂
Congratulations on the new bike! You'll love it! If the pipes come with the baffles installed, leave them in and see how you like it. Good for city riding and when you open her up, she sounds amazing over 4000rpm. Then take the baffles out and hear the difference ;-)
You put Vance and Hines short pipes on a Harley Fatboy and that is the best cruising sound you can hear . I had two Valkyries . One in the 1990's and the other in the mid 2000's . I had the 6 shooters on the 2000's bike . Fantastic bikes . Memphis Shades Windshields and Baker Airwings for turbulence. The weight on the second bike saved my life when a jeep full of punks shot out from gas station across the four lane road and headed for the inside lane where I was at . I had no place to go and they pushed me off the road and God was watching over me . I shot through a driveway of a business and road it between the curb and a monster Boulder that was part of the landscape . A guy behind saw the whole thing and said I thought you were dead. I owed my life to God and that beautiful Honda Valkyrie !
That's the thing, it never gets old ;-) I love my long distance rides and did a few Iron Butt rides as well, 24hrs of riding. Every time I start the bike, give her some throttle, it makes me smile ;-)
Better on the interstate than any other bike I've ridden besides the Goldwings I've owned. If you ride a bike for long enough to get into the reserve every time, you figure out what's a serious highway bike and what's not
A "pain in the ass" in what sense? Maintenance? Just ride the bike regularly and everything will be fine. There's a device out there called "DigiSync" to synchronize the carbs. Get a Valkyrie, you will love it! Regular maintenance on this bike can be done by yourself, you just have to keep riding it and enjoying it ;-)
I got the ECT mod on the bike as well. The power loss is very minor I'd say. The concert you get is just awesome! Hoping to be able to put the bike on the dyno with original pipes and also with Cobras with and without baffles... one day...
There is no power loss with the cobras. They flow air no differently than stock. The myth that the lack of back pressure makes it lose 10 hp is false. If you get rid of back pressure you don’t lose power, you gain it.
