May I add some more information? His teachers mentioned that they asked him to join the HHI competition since first year that TEN took the dance lesson with them. They said Ten is so talented so they wanted him to join with thw crew but that time he was more in kpop. They said he had so much energy and passion that’s why he took HipHop for two class with two teachers 4-6hrs after school every day before he joined to SM and also the two teachers helped him to choreograph for his SM addition
TEN is considered one of the best dancers and performers in K-POP. You should also watch the English version of the On My Youth performance video by WayV to see more of his dancing and charisma, as well as that group's skill.
His Dream in a dream dance practice is divine. He also did some covers on Taki-taki, Coco Chanel and Humble. He also had his try on Chinese classical dance with Cheng Xiao (just search Ten and Cheng Xiao dance). Those are must watch if you want to see more of his dancing. They are all short videos except for Dream in a dream dance practice, so it's great if you could check them out. We would really be interested about your point of view.☺️
Back then in 2016, in an idol-based dance competition, Ten was introduced as the idol who can dance to all styles. He was the only one mentioned as an all rounder dancer 😁
OMG, thanks for giving in to our request! Anyway, Ten was mainly trained in Hip-hop but he used to be a gymnast when he was a kid. And he mentioned he did ballet classes but i think only for a short while not like other idols who did ballet for a long time. He is also just very sporty and does a variety of sports and hobbies from swimming, surfing, volleyball, to badminton, basketball, etc. His ability to engage his own body and create those beautiful lines is all thanks to his gymnastics and overall sports-oriented background, i guess. Also he is just as artsy as he is sporty, he draws, paints, design and he even designed all his tattoos. Aside from his body control which he owes a lot to gymnastics, I think his versatility and finesse is greatly influenced by his keenness and sharpness which he naturally acquired through his various exposure and knowledge in both the arts and sports. He just has that great instinct on how to make a choreo look even better that even when he dances hip-hop he makes it look elegant even with all the swag. From his chin, neck, shoulders to his fingertips, from his core to his extremities, when he dances he is just so gorgeous.
Ten said he learned some ballet when he was little and in pre-debuted era he is very into dance he had hiphop background back then but he had learned many genres of dance now like you can see he use every kind of dance in his song. If you love contemporary dance, you'd love to watch his 2 solo songs: "dream in a dream" and "new heroes". And next year in very early year he will have solo debut please looking for his solo you gonna like it! 🥰
Ten officially preformed Birthday live on a Chinese dance show where he was one of the judges/mentors- kind of like a judge showcase. Although the choreography was different then! He later fully released it as an SM Station/NCT Lab with an MV. The dance practice seems to be the full choreo they used for that MV, which explains the cuts (and the part where he dances with the mirror).

4:59 Ten's actually Thai! He's NCT's only Thai member, although he learned Mandarin while being in NCT's Chinese subunit, WayV.
I’ve always thought that Ten has the most beautiful arm and hand extension, all the way through the fingers. So dynamic.
