- If you hear chopped tracks thats because I was adding parts together........From 1986 to 93' Hot 97 was the best dance station in America where you can hear club/dance music all day. It was very difficult to mix Freestyle to house and back again...I didn't have a choice but to mix it up because it was radio, but later in the night of my 4 hour show I was able to play more club tracks.
That was in the Summer of 1991 for those that care. I remember this exact recording live sometime in June/early July. I had it on cassette Tape after this. I still have it.
Upload your other old mixes!
These early 90s hot97 shows really sparked my love of music..
awesome, alot of fond memories. Thanks Jeff!
I love freestyle music and beyond back in the 1980’s and the 1990’s.
Wow just wow !!! Wish we had them days back or at least wish the radio stations continued to play Friday and Saturday night dance mixes on the radio . Missing the old NYC days of the 1980s and 1990s . Amazing mix thank you for being me back to my night clubbing nights . Still kicking people 🤣
you're mixes Jeff being a lot of great memories!!!!!
He was hands down the BEST!!! Wether House or Freestyle, he was the BEST!!
Yes you are right in your description.. freestyle is a very hard style of music to DJ mix to... Like putting your hands in needles trying to find a penny.. thanks for posting.. these mixes are historic and legendary 💯👦😎
Thanks for bringing these out. The best.
Hi. Thank you for taking me back to high school! Loved this at the time and love it now.

Hahaha. My lady and I were taking a trip back to when Hot 97 to as the club music station. We are kiatening to this on a Friday night reliving our youth. Lol
That’s wassup 🤟🏽🤟🏽
Sheesh broo!!!!
So interesting what you said about mixing house and freestyle. Was it the timing or the overall vibe that made it difficult? I love the deep club cuts, so post more if you have them! I started listening to the dance mixes about '92-93, so it was mostly club hits, which I loved more than freestyle.
Some of the songs I'm hearing in this mix are Funk Boutique by The Cover Girls, Wondering by Tonasia, and Strike It Up by Black Box.
I NEVER DID LIKE ALL THAT CONSTANT FREESTYLE. IT DROVE ME CRAZY. I WAS SO GLAD WHEN FREESTYLE WENT OUT.
What's the song that plays after Black Box? Can anyone tell me? 14:20
