If gap is generated at support or resistance level, the probability of its getting filled in future is high. It mostly happens as trade session boundaries of algorithmic trading are set at support and resistance levels.

If Banknifty opnes Gap up then I have observed that 80-90% time BN or Nifty index try to fill the gap by end of the day. I may be wrong but thats what I observed. Your further comment on this should help us.
U R RIGHT because Index has both CALL n PUT writers and weekly expiries. so chances are higher of gap covering index than in stocks. I do play lots of gap covering in indices.

If gap are commoenly 100-150 points then gaps are normally filled but gaps are 300-450 points and more then gaps are not filled please view chart

I Think it works for BNF n nifty. I don't think it works for stocks. Just my opinion.
It works everywhere......but not immediately....it takes time......but gaps are made to be filled .......
