okay so we're just planning the socket
layout for the upstairs
uh ring main so let's have a look at our
circuit plan the route the cables are
going to take through the house now it's
going to be a ring final
circuit our consumer unit is just under
the stairs around here
so it's simply now we need to wire if we
will go from
there to there to there to there to
there to there
to there to there to there and back down
again
so we may just sketch that on
uh let me know where you're going with
your wires
and there you have it that's the sockets
uh for the upstairs
and so there you go just put the green
line in there they'll show
the root of my cable going around the
ring there
and up and down into the cupboard where
the consuming unit is
and maybe one last thing to mention once
you've designed your layout
obviously if you wish you can measure
out your cable see how much you need
i'll just buy rolls of it so that's
not really a concern but i know i've got
nine sockets and therefore nine double
back boxes
that i need to get to do the upstairs
sockets
