Compare the John Deere 4066M vs the 4066R. These two John Deere 4 Series tractors are the largest horespower, largest frame size tractors offered by John Deere with a hydrostatic transmission! The John Deere 4066M is a value series while the John Deere 4066r is a deluxe series. There are surprisingly many similarities in capability and performance, however there's a huge gap in luxury features that could really make a difference for the operator depending on need or preference.

Hi, the 3rd, 4th, 5th SCV's, pinned stabilizers, and the air suspension seat are now available options for the 4M''s. I ordered all of it along with cruise control (not the nice auto style though), eThrottle, MotionMatch, and TractorPlus Bluetooth on my new 4044M.

John Deere offers the 3rd option on the M now as a add on. Just had one put on my 4044M I purchased last week and John Deere put it on before they delivered my tractor last week.

Correct me if I am wrong but the M series can have an additional SCV or two added to the RoPs near the right rear signal light.

Not positive, but I believe they fit under a 7' door.

hey good works. i follow you close, and i have a question. Im Danish, so excuse me for my bad spelling, i hope you can read and make sence of what i meen. I own a 4066r here in Denmark, and there is an 400e loader on an auction. can i fit this loader to my 4066r?? or is it only for the 4066M model? hoping for a quick respons, the auction is running out in 4 days. best regards JB.
So is it safe to say a M series basically replaces the E series in the smaller ones?
How are these for running a big bush hog? I know a hydro will run hot while hogging or so people say
Been running hydrostatic tractors with brush hogs for years. Keep the intake screen clean and you're fine.
Sorry Alexander, these models are not good at all for hogging. I've had a 4066M for 5 years and it is the worst tractor I have ever owned, (and I have owned 18 JD tractors). The cooling system is completely inadequate and suffers massive blockages between the water and oil radiators, no matter how clear you keep the intake grills. On that point, in heavy mowing conditions, I had to blow the intake grills clean every 7 (seven!) minutes when ambient temperature exceeded 75 deg F. I have partially solved this by installing extra intakes in the hood and an upward exhaust stack. In the height of the season this tractor requires almost daily front end disassembly to use compressed air to clean between the radiators (a 30 minute job with practice) - and twice a season the radiator needs to be completely removed and water basted clean as so much craps blocks the fins.
All this could be avoided with a better cooling system design, and better access for maintenance.
Turnbuckle lower arms are a pain. They get muddy and then you have to remove them and clean them up in order to use them or you bust knuckles with a crescent wrench while spraying them with WD-40. I will never get another tractor with them.

The only difference between a 4052M and a 4066m is the engine size?

Lots and lots of variables come in to play. However, around $7000-9000 in open station models.
$30K+ for the M and has a seat off a lawnmower.

Hmmmm, A third function plumbed to the rear, and a cab tractor you have to add mirrors to. John Deere does some strange configurations.
Third functions are often plumbed to the rear regardless of manufacturer. There's an internal mirror. External mirrors are optional. Better to have the option than forced to buy if you don't want. More flexibility.
4066m does have Loadmatch
