Like so many before me, I don't celebrate nor do I decorate in any specific way for Halloween. Luckily, we live in area where NOBODY ever comes trick or treating, either...so I don't have to buy candy! LOL. All that being said, these are really cute. Linda, you're such an inspiration, both crafting and Christian and I truly appreciate you and your art work. Now, I'm always looking for things I can create for my booth....considering how much time and effort plus the materials you used, about how much would you say you have invested in this project? How do you determine a sale price, or a commission price?
Hey Sharon! I don’t decorate or do Halloween either, we are in an area with not too many kiddos trick or treating…I honestly wonder if it’s even a thing to do anymore. Parents are taking kids to church functions or public functions for Halloween around here. Anyhooooo…every once in a while a client comes along and asks me to make something for Halloween so I try and accommodate…if I have the time. So as for this particular project….price wise…she was a friend of mine, so I gave her a deal at $40 for the pair. For pricing on any item to sell, I usually determine how much it costs me to make and try and double it. Now alot of people would argue with me to triple and add in time for making it, but then this set would have come in over $100 and that’s just insane to me. We are in a lower priced area and I rather make a little less and have someone enjoy it then be packed away in a tote in my attic. You also have to take in account how the product looks…maybe it doesn’t look like a $40 item, so you charge $30, but something else that cost even less to make just looks more expensive so you charge more on that one and it balances out. Is that understandable? Also consider, as you have shopped around at shows and are looking at things and you are like, “$40? I don’t think so, maybe $30” use that judgement as well when pricing. What would you pay? Hope all this helps, some! Many blessings! 😊
@@LindasDIYbyDesign Thank you, Linda. Yes, it is understandable and I do use the double or triple rule of thumb unless like you say….it doesn’t LOOK like a however-much-item to me. But then I’m cheap… I look at things knowing I could do it myself and walk away. 😩 of course I rarely DO it myself but I had fun looking and saved my money for something else altogether. and you’re so right about everything balancing out. I love it when I have practically nothing in it but it looks like it’s worth 50.00! Those are few and far between 😵💫. Thanks for replying 🙏🏻

Thank you for your words at the end. I needed them so much. I have been swimming in depression for four years and half years. My life has not been the same since my husband passed away. I have stopped going to church. No one from church has even checked on me. That makes me feel even worse. Why? Do they no like me?
All kinds of questions goes through my head. I never leave the house except to get groceries or doctors appointments.
I was in the hospital for three days two weeks ago. Ago with A-fib and possible heart attack. I had a heart cath. It was ok. Thank God. I have one son. He was on a tug boat working. He called to just to check on me and I told him what was going on. His company was so sweet. They got him off the boat and back to his car so he could come home and be with me.
Sometimes I just don’t want to be here, but I tell Satan, “Get yee behind me Satan.”
I need prayers.
I am a Christian. I just don’t like being alone and in physical pain 24/7. I am disabled from car accident that caused injury to my neck and back.
Hey Denise! I really hope, within my heart, that you are doing ok! I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you! In fact, we prayed for you yesterday in our Bible Study class. I want you to know that you are a brave and beautiful woman! You are a gift from God! You are a child of God. Unique in His eyes! Secured by Him for all eternity! The devil cannot touch you. The devil has no power over you with the presence of Jesus in your heart, soul, body and mind! I know it feels like you are in a season of winter some days, but Jesus is your bright summer everyday. You are loved. You are worthy, you are chosen! With God you have the strength to face anything! I know it feels like people don’t care, but honestly they do. It’s just often hard depending on people when you feel they have forgotten about you. People are people and even with all the best intentions and love in their heart, they often get busy in their own lives and aren’t good with keeping up with those around them that need them. I know when I was going through cancer, I felt alone a lot. I confronted a few people about it….”like, you couldn’t pick up the phone and make a call?” Apologies were spoken and admittance of they just got busy. They didn’t stop thinking about me, but life just took over. It’s not that they don’t like you, or don’t think about you, they just get consumed sometimes with their own life. Unfortunately that can make our faith in people get lost, but do NOT lose your faith in the One who NEVER, EVER forgets you. I understand feeling lonely…it’s hard to explain, but being adopted…loneliness creeps in alot…and sometimes we have to make the effort to fill that void with hobbies, with Jesus, with friends and family. Honestly, may I suggest you call your old church or find a new church and make some connections? Talk with the Pastor, let him know your feelings and see how they can help? I don’t want you feeling alone ….and you can’t let the enemy keep you pushed down in that depression. Do not give in to the lies of the enemy, letting him whisper that you would be better off not being here. Don’t fall for it, don’t buy it, don’t take the bait! Greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world. Greater is Jesus in you! Greater is the King of kings in you! Greater is the mighty physician who is in you! Greater is the Lover of your soul that is in you! You are precious! You are wanted! You are here! Make your stand upon that Rock!
