That "Airbrakes" made for make this tank look wider than it is from long distance. It was useful in pre-lazer rangefinder period. With optical rangefinder it was problematic to find right distance fast and give to T-64A crew chance to stay alive.
I thought it was a basic form of HEAT protection. When angled, it would detonate HEAT rounds early. I've never heard of it being used like that since usual optical rangefinders are height based
Having the 125mm Heat at 9.3 isn't that bad tbh at your br or lower you still kill everything. with tanks with 125s i usually just use HE and aim for roofs or turret face almost always one shots and imo is really fun I still do it with spaded vehicles too
No, you will be fighting experienced players and on top of that if you're gonna play tank battles you need the T-72 TURMS to at least get some results in tank battles. if you dont wanna painfully grind the game, its best to get premium time, it doesnt cost slot and it helped a lot even tho its only 7 day premium

If it gets on 9.0 - it will own everything, meanwhile on 9.3 it sucks pp. SKIP IT, don't play it! Save your nerves
@@thatguynamedpaul9990 hell no, it doesn't. Here's a fun fact - T-55AMD-1 composite armor is stronger, than T-64A's. T-64 gets front penned by anything from 8.7 that has APFDS, it DOESNT even save you from 400mm pen HEAT / HEAT-FS. Random ZTZ from 8.7 pens you frontally without any problems. T-72A meanwhile has perfect armor that saves you from any APFSDS / HEAT of this br and even some of ATGMS. German T-72 has additional 16mm armor from stock, but on soviet one you must research it, it gives you a good armor boost. If you want a good T-64 gameplay, skip the shitty A version and go to B. T-64B is a very good tank, and BV modification makes it even better.

It's not worth it, so far I reached the T-64 and it was mostly pain or just mid-average. i don't know how did you manage to get a good kill ratio in the t55 amd tbh, I used the t-55am 1 to grind and god i hated every minute playing it, I don't think i even have 1 kd. All the disadvantages you listed for the T-64 are still valid for the T-55s: slow, bad reload, turrett/gun handling, horrible gun depression, bad reverse, and on top of that an absolutely garbage dart, nonetheless people still maintain an intense delusional copium that it's good despite it being subpar in all those important metric i listed. Fuck that.
I actually manage to do pretty decent in it, around a 4.0 kd. But yes, its just a worse T72 in every way. 10.3 uptiers are extremely painful too, the only thing holding your hand is the firepower which isn't exclusive to the T64. If it had good mobility then it would be a solid pick, but thats asking a lot for a Russian MBT.

Quick tip for tanks with a god awful elevation rate: if it had a stab move your cursor with the crosshair. For some reason it moves faster.
