    Orlando, your dealership is ripping you off. You should review your warranty and maintenance guide that came with your car. The 15k service for your RC 350 F Sport according to Lexus is only the following:
    ❑ Inspect and adjust all fluid levels
    ❑ Replace Smart Key battery
    ❑ Reset maintenance reminder light
    ❑ Visually inspect brake pads, calipers and rotors
    ❑ Check installation of driver’s floor mat
    ❑ Road-test vehicle
    ❑ Inspect the following
    No real work here, and should only be charged 1hr labor.
    Obviously I would do this myself and save the $150.
    Engine air filter doesn't need to be changed until 30k.
    If I were you I would only take it in for the oil changes every 10k. Save yourself some money (a lot of money in your case) and skip the unnecessary 5k interval.

      Maintenance on a Benz does cost more. I think it's a good idea to service a car at the dealership in terms of fluid changes (oil, etc.) while in warranty. My local Lexus dealership did offer an instance discount on the schedule maintenance I had done. However, next time I'm doing most of the maintenance myself. They price match on tires as well. :-)

    You don't have to slide up the touch sensitive temperature gauges. You can tap it to raise it or lower it. You can also get an oil change from any good reputable service station for a little cheaper, and as for the tires you can get some Kumhos for cheaper and also balance for cheaper.

    • @orlandojacinto1

      I was really busy around the time I made the video some of the things I could've done myself. I wanted to explain the work/cost included at the dealership with each maint. cycle. I forgot to show that tapping on the arrows changes the temp lol. I ended up trading in for an RC F I rarely take it to the dealership, except for an oil change while it's in the standard 4-year warranty. Thanks for the helpful comment.

    I just test drove a RC 350 F Sport. The car is awesome. The handling and road feel is fantastic. When you are looking at the options for a sporty coupe that is AWD you get very limited options. This little coupe is incredibly cheap to maintain when you think about how intelligent the car is. I'd have no problem paying a $1,000 a year to maintain this thing. It has a very reliable engine and transmission. and for the most part these Lexus cars go 20 years before you start having to sink real money into them.

    • @orlandojacinto1

      @@ISF77W this is a great point actually. Depending upon the Lexus model the costs over time and maintenance can get out of control. We have a 2000 Lexus LX470 and it replaced my 98 Land Cruiser. The lexus has gone through (Failed) the Pneumatic suspension, Ball Joints, Calipers, Alternator, Air conditioning unit and lines, steering rack, Steering assembly, Sunroof motor, all front suspension including the CV axles and the Hub, entire interior had to be replaced, and all of this was in about 6 years at a cost of over $10,000. The reason why i bought my lexus is because its reliable and the cheapest to maintain out of all the luxury brands. How? You can do maintance at a toyota. Ive been doing it for years with no problem. They did the same maintanance that you did on this video and rather it costing $300, it was only $115. Typical oil change is roughly $60. It use to cost $60 for a 3 time bundle. Dont believe me? Google it.

      The difference is in the amenities, Toyota Dealerships dont have as nice a facility as a Lexus Dealership. If you want to pay less, you have that choice. But when you need something from the dealer, perhaps assistance, they might not be as willing as they would someone that services at their dealer all the time.

  • @lzen8197

    If you were to change the oil yourself and buy full synthetic oil and filter, it would cost about $17. 10 quarts of oil is about $12(after mail and rebate) and $5 for the oil filter. Lexus isn’t a BMW or Audi, they are reliable and cheap to maintain. It’s still a Toyota with a luxury brand name and I honestly wouldn’t buy any other cars due to the brand’s low cost in maintenance.

    Here are my dislikes:
    1) - The pockets on the door panels aren’t wide enough to get my hand in. They are too narrow and nearly useless.
    2) As gorgeous as the interior is, there is nowhere to put anything aside from the glove compartment or center console. You can place things on the screen, but then it blocks your navigation or whatever your screen is set to display. You can use the cup holders but I commute with my travel mug, and believe it or not, the other cup holder is for my “ash tray” cup. Yes, I smoke in my car but you’d never know it. I shut the climate control, open all windows, and the roof as well.
    3) Everything on the dash and console is lit up beautifully at night, but the buttons on the steering wheel are way too dim by comparison. I thought it was a problem, I brought it to the dealership who said that’s how it is, and nobody ever complained before. I am not convinced though, it’s such a drastic difference you’d think quality control or someone on the design team would have realized.
    Anyone else see the brightness difference on the steering wheel buttons? Same with the seat settings on the drivers door panel. They light up, but barely.
    None of these are showstoppers for me, I’d buy this car over in a heartbeat. If those are my only problems, I’ll take it and be grateful. It’s such an awesome looking, performing, and luxurious experience. The seats are amazingly comfortable. It drives more like a luxury car than a sports car. The comfort level is fantastic. The AWD handles the snow too, in fact, I can’t wait for it to snow.

      sheldon wong Pro-tip: don’t use the dealership for the maintenance, find a mechanic you trust and have them do the work. I guarantee there are a bunch near you that won’t rip you off like the dealership. Most of the maintenance is just checking things you can do yourself, like oil levels, tire pressure, brake pads, etc. a normal mechanic will do all these things for cheap, like $150 vs. the $350 Lexus will charge you. Also use the I termed to find tires, tirerack will save you a fortune on tires.

    Dealership usually charge people a lot more than necessary on the labor cost. I need to replace my full radiator unit on my 2011 Infiniti and dealer quote me $1,500 for oem parts and labor, plus tax. Then I visited my usual private garage (the place where i have my brake services done; and for some other family cars too). The owner quoted me $750 + tax for the same oem parts and work. So I figured that dealership maintenance cost is just a rip-off, I go to them mostly because of oil change that comes with car wash. Other major maintenance I am just gonna give it to my private auto shop in the neighborhood.

My response: Yeah, I couldn’t believe I spent all that money it was rip off. I just want an alignment done. How much is it? Nah, I’ll have it done some place else.
      Life is about learning from mistakes. Nowadays, I find it rewarding working on my cars and figuring out how things work.

Drain into pan, remove filter, replace filte,r refill engine with oil, check for leaks, DONE!!!) until 50-60,000 mile mark for front brakes and inspect tire wear/replace if needed. The tire cost quote you gave, was that for two tires or each? Second if you buy a plan when buying the car, would it be financing it with interest on that? The temperature control is so stupid because trying to adjust the temperature driving on the road looks distracting. I personally like the look of this car and I love the black ones.

    • @orlandojacinto1
      @orlandojacinto1  6 років тому

      Each tire. I plan to shop around for tires. I'm sure the plan can be added with cost of the car, it will add extra interest to the financing. I would buy the plan separately using cash. I was considering buying the plan but it is not worth it to me anymore. The maintenance plans are more for customers that want to save money in terms of long term service costs and plan to keep their car for years. For example, I was told the 30K service maintenance is very expensive, buying a 30K maintenance plan in advance would save you up to 30% without the plan. I would ask the dealership for the break down of each plan. People leaving helpful comments here and doing my own research, I would rather DIY what I can without voiding the warranty. Then take my Lexus to the dealership for scheduled maintenance of things like an alignment and tune up. Adjusting the temperature while driving can be distracting at times. The black one was my first choice, but the one on the lot did not have the Mark Levinsion Audio and four-wheel steering. Thanks for the comment.

      Hi Eleanor. The 15K mile maintenance service includes: Four wheel alignment, balance all tires, clean air filters (not change), replace the key fob battery, thorough inspection, top off all fluids, replace wiper blades, and clean the car inside out. Most of the cost is from the four wheel alignment and tire balance. I did get 15% (about $45) off the service from a mailer I received from the dealer. Next time, I plan to DIY some of the items myself. Btw...I mentioned my next oil change (recommended every 10K) is at 25K miles, it is actually at 20K. Synthetic oil is used that is why it cost about $90.00. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment.

    Here's what I hate about my 2017 Lexus RC350 F Sport AWD. 1) The entire center stack. The design isn't very nice. Mazda and Kia have nicer center stacks. Look at the buttons for "Media" in this video; they're just plastic nubs. It's terrible. 2) The track pad! WHY?! That thing is an abomination. It's slow to respond, inconsistent, and hard to predict where your cursor will go since it snaps to buttons. You'd think that would help, but it doesn't since you still have to look at the screen to know what's selected. 3) The infotainment system UI. This is related to the track pad, but look at how many things show up in multiple places for no reason. Climate information display, for example, shows up on the nav screen when you make a change. Why? There's a dedicated display to show that all the time! Why repeat it? Better yet, why have the cheap car looking display at all. Just put that information in the nav screen. 4) The back seat has no cup holders at all and yet the RC F (I had one for four days) has TWO cup holders in the back seat. Again, WHY?! No one wants to sit in the back of an RC F and even if they do, you sure don't want them drinking anything! Those cup holders should be in the RC350. 5) No touch screen or Android Auto. Look Lexus, you make really nice cars but why are you reinventing the wheel? Let Google and Apple integrate with your cars and stop wasting money on your track pad and infotainment! Especially the voice command thing. It just doesn't work very reliably.
    Here's what I love about my Lexus RC350. 1) I leased it and I get to give it back! 2) Since it's leased, I don't pay for maintenance! Lexus pays for it; it's their car after all. 3) The AWD in the snow is really amazing. 4) The seats are quite comfortable and I'm glad to have both heated and cooled options. 5) It's just enough fun that I'm not constantly on the verge of losing my license (that's what the RC F is for, stupid fun).
    I really do like the car. It is a fun car as a daily driver and despite that center stack business, it has a very nice and comfortable interior. I just don't see myself wanting to keep it long term. There are too many other interesting options out there.

    • @orlandojacinto1
      @orlandojacinto1  6 років тому

      Yes the center console is very bad Lexus should not have put the screen so deep into the console. The problem with the infotainment system is the software, slight improvement with the 2018. I traded for an RC F back in April, it so fun to drive! As you know, the seats in the RC F are just as comfortable. However, the drive is not as comfortable (feel more of the road) as the RC350 but I like it nonetheless since it's sportier.

    • @SirRadd
      @SirRadd 6 років тому

      Ride quality of the RC F was one of the main reasons I gave it back after just 4 days. Everyone that drove with me was getting car sick within minutes. It was a blast to drive that car, but only for me. Lexus tried really hard to get me to keep the RC F, but that was partly because they really didn't want to pay to fix the paint on my RC350. It was covered in holograms and scratches from a bad polish job. In the end, they paid for the fix and I kept the RC350.
      Also, my wife didn't even realize that I had the RC F instead of the RC350. They're very similar in appearance, both inside and out. I just couldn't see the value in doing the swap, but I won't lie, for a day or so I was very tempted! :-)

    • @orlandojacinto1
      @orlandojacinto1  6 років тому

      I do miss the smooth ride of the RC350, but the RC F is so much fun to drive. The cabin can be loud at times from the V8 along with the road noise depending on road you were driving on that made people car sick. The V8 at idle during stops was annoying at first but I got use to it, passengers don't like.
