    This train suppose to be electric one??

    • @orkako
      @orkako 29 днів тому

      No. The locomotive is diesel. In Ghana's case, this is a reasonable solution as it requires cheaper rail infrastructure and is independent of the grid electricity supply. I read on the manufacturer's website that the train has Wi-Fi, , reaches speeds of 140 km/h, such trains run in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. The most popular configuration of the train is the two-car version, which is the one Ghana has purchased. It has about 150 seats, but the train can accommodate more standing passengers. I suppose it could be as many as 300 people. The train can be enlarged to a three-car version by adding one car between the locomotives. Then the seating capacity increases to 220. In Europe, these trains are used as intercity buses, usually connecting smaller towns, or small towns to larger cities. I also discovered that in Europe such vehicles are not considered full-fledged trains, but just buses on rails, and they call them Railbus. A real train requires a powerful locomotive, or electric traction over the track. To start with, a railbus will probably be enough. In time, the rail line can be expanded and real trains can be purchased.

      @orkako 29 днів тому

      Ghana has purchased two railbuses, each capable of accommodating between 150 and over 300 passengers (depending on how many people are standing instead of sitting). Answer for yourself to what extent this will affect traffic jams. In time, more railbuses will be available and, with the expansion of the railway line, real trains will also be available. However, it is important to understand that the beginning of great change is always modest.

      The train is short because it is not a real train, it is a railbus. It has 150 seats and probably the same number of standing places. It is modest, but beginnings are often modest, but over time they lead to great things.

      Development is never a shame. Every developed country has taken many centuries and sometimes millennia to build its civilisation. Don't expect Ghana to catch up with developed countries in a few years. It takes time and the efforts of many generations. Development is a marathon. One simply must not give up and must take the next steps.

    I mean the economy. The question is is this train going to reduce the prices of goods and services or is it going to bring down the cedi from ¢15 to ¢10 to 1 dollar which is main cause of prices of food. Trust me majority of Ghanaians will vote base on living conditions.
