There should be no ads on this video as i turned them off, figure its a bit cheeky to have ads in what's essentially a promo for my own game. Look, this isn't a review and it isn't our normal critical content, this is just me fanboying over my own creation. Take that for what you will. Oh, and it turns out the pellets are biodegradable, just a different sort than im used to. If you want to see more about the game, follow the link in the video description above.
@@3MBG not a promo really -- we've been following this creative journey for years, and we're all pretty darned excited to see the tumblers falling into place
I'm not sure what's more beautiful here -- the final design and production, or your beautiful, heartfelt reaction to seeing the culmination of this incredible creative journey.
The happiness and gratitude in your voice and eyes as you went through the components makes this one of the most special videos I’ve seen in a long time. It can’t get anymore real than this. So happy for you. This will be a game that stands out from the crowd, even within its own COIN family. Well done!!
I think I started watching your videos back in 2017, 2018 maybe? At that time, you were just a Napoleonic figure and a voice for me. And now, we all now so much more about you, your beautiful family, your worries and your passions. I am so happy that you were able to finalize one of your projects with such a prestigious brand as GMT. Big hugs from Turkey.
Ha, cheers and thank you. Carl von clausewitz, our channel mascot, was my avatar for year because i studied military history and the like at university. I kept him because he wasn't a meeple like everyone else ;)
Been following this development devotedly for some time now, and, as Baudelaire's definition of beauty, isn't this a promise of happiness. Can't wait to receive my copy. And I'm sorry for your loss. Thanks for this, greetings from Buenos Aires.
This has been my #1 most anticipated game since you first started promoting it on your channel. Congratulations on getting your work out there! This is a big achievement and I'm so happy for you.
J, I could NOT be happier for you and also happier for me as I've been waiting for this game for a long time. I can't wait to finally get to play it with my friends. Thank you for sticking with the game and for your channel, which provides me with a great deal of enjoyment! And I thank you for sharing with us the dedication to your sister and your emotional reaction. It is difficult to ever completely make peace with the passing of those we love. I have the same reaction when talking about my parents. Thanks for your hard work and the fun you provide. Nick Stasnopolis
You deserve all the flowers J. I know for me personally you have been one of my favorites to be able to know in this hobby. This production looks amazing and I cant wait to get my copy and hoping to make some content on it. You should be proud.
Congrats!!! A long journey with significant life milestones along the way. What a sense of accomplishment you must have! Looking forward to my P500 copy!
We're all so, so proud of you, J, and I can't wait for it to arrive. A true labor of love. Such of fan of this channel and you as one of the great ambassadors for the hobby. Well-earned congratulations. It must feel very gratifying, and thanks for sharing this special moment with all of us!
CONGRATULATIONS! You must be delighted to see it for the first time, it looks great. I pre-ordered back in 2020(?) and can't wait to get/ play it. Well done.
Cheers Mark, Covid and then the solo design phase really delayed us a whole bunch. So glad its finally nearly ready to ship out and i hope you enjoy it
@@3MBG I apologize if my comment came off as a complaint. It wasn't meant to be. I know you have a lot of irons in the fire, and I am just excited for you that you're bringing it to fruition.
So stoked to see this. I also love how had the gameplay be influenced by real-life crises, even though it's a fictional game. Definitely looking forward to playing this.
I ordered a copy since you're my fave board game reviewer. I'm a mainly solo player and am very stupid (complex games give me headaches), but I wanted to support you in any way I can. Congratulations!
I think you can be, with reason, proud of this. I've not played any GMT games yet, but I'm pretty sure I will buy this game once I can get my hands to it! Artwork looks gorgeous and I'm a big sci-fi fan.
I don't know you, i just frequently watch your videos. However, it is really heartwarming seeing you this happy and excited about your game. Congratulations🎉
Fantastic to see your creation come to life, J. Looked back over my order and realised I backed this on P500 at the very start of 2022. Will be keen to play this when it arrives. And in the meantime, I’ll hold out hope that someone at Netflix realises what a great property RDR would be to translate to the screen. It’s been a rough few years for you and the family so may this game’s publication signal a change of fortune for you all. Best of luck for your continued success in business, at home and in the hobby.
Cheers Nate. Things are certainly more positive here than they were two years ago, thats for sure. Everythings somewhat trending upwards, well, asides from the whole worlld.
Oh, that's one sexy board game! CONGRATUALTIONS, IT'S AWESOME! I just recently got a present for myself on my birthday - baby's first COIN game, Fire in the Lake. It's so good. Can't wait to try yours too!
Nice one. It is totally different seeing somebody unbox their own game, and you can see in your emotions how much it means to you. I hope it is many people's forever game.❤
Cheers. Yeah, i normally wouldn't do an unboxing as i find them quite low quality content. But you're right, when its your own game, it feels so different, its not just opening mail, its having a project finish.
Game looks good. Appreciate not having this overproduced. The production level looks just right! Also seems quite interesting, although a little bit too complicated and language dependent for our group.
I am so excited for this game! I'm not super interested in historical titles, so I have only recently started looking into wargames despite being a boardgamer for most of my life, but I love "what if" and hypothetical games. I have this on pre-order and it will be my first COIN game.
Thank you for sharing this with us! I'm really looking forward to this - it will actually be my first COIN game. I love what I hear about COIN gameplay but historic conflict settings don't interest me but sci fi settings in general score points with me.
I really look forward to playing this. Another mars game that I don't need, but I want 😂. Congratulations, Big fan here and happy to see your own gane.
I have slowly moved away from heavier games, of late , focusing more on thematic elements. This meant that I didn't go through with the P500 for this one. But, having watched this vid and this being one of my favourite themes, then I might have to pick this one up at some point - especially with the Arjuna style bot for COIN solo games. Plus, the extensive use of orange helps. But well done!!!!
Fiction? I just see an historically accurate COIN game that arrived 230 years early ^^ Man, this game is a win for everyone. I love the COIN series, but I just don't get 4 player war games with classic historic wars on the table. The complexity of GMT games is really not the problem, many people who are really fun to play more complex board games with just don't like classic war games with a classic war game setting... but if they develop an appreciation for Red Dust Rebellion, I am sure they will also give A Distant Plain a shot (which is to be honest not a classic war game with a classic war game setting) or even something more classical like Fire in the Lake.
Congratulations on the game, giving it some serious consideration. Have you played/got an opinion on solo mode? Also do you have a guide on what size card sleeves to order to cover the game. Thanks.
I've had vert little to do with the solo mode because i prefer playing wargames solo without bots and multi-handing them, which is why we got Joe into design the solo mode. Cards are normal magic the gathering size i think
17:48 Do you have plans to make a video on a Rules Teach and a Playthrough? Question came up on BGG forum for the game. As a fan of your channel I would have to guess - not likely, as those are not usually in your content, but then again this is your creation, so what do I know.

And, well, i've never done one and they are an incredibly specialized thing that requires tons of prep work. I'm hoping we get one made for the game but that's on GMT."
So, i mention in the video that i dedicated the game to my sister who passed away, Janine (And I'm Jarrod). I decided to publish my games as J Carmichael so as to include her every time my name appears on something. A lot of people just call me J anyway.
