Saw Cold Sweat, all the original members, at Monsters on the Mountain in 2022. It's not just Roy / Rory that still has it. That whole band is still incredible live. For bands that didn't get what their talent deserved, check out Lillian Axe.

Funny I have never heard of any of these bands before and I was a big metal fan through the 80's and still am. I will check them out now because of this.

There were so many bands back in the 80's... there was a monthly publication called BAM magazine... all the bands were there . From successful famous bands to obscure garage bands..
Not in order, just...5: Lillian Axe Wildside Shotgun Messiah War Babies Babylon A.D. And because they're (sorta) from my hometown, honorable mention goes to Hericane Alice. 1 disc and it was all damn good tunes.
Glad to see Roxx Gang on the list, I always thought the guitar players were absolutely smoking, The video for No Easy Way Out was very different from what other hair bands were doing at the time, another band that needs a mention was XYZ their song Inside Our, that riff was killer, King Kobra would be another with mentioning too, great channel, keep up the good work!
Always disappointed when I don’t see Junkyard in list like this, with songs like Blooze, Hollywood, Simple Man, Hands Off, All The Time In The World, Slippin’ Away and Clean The Dirt. I’m amazed they never broke through. Salty Dog good one my friend, Come Along is a great song. Hardline with Hot Cherie is another under appreciated hair band but I think they were early 90’s if my memory is correct
Ok, so, Bullet Boys were one of the original five bands I listed for this video. I switched them out last minute. Maybe I will include them in the next video. I love that band.
Dirty Looks was my favorite band from that time & still is. Criminally underrated. They were not from L.A. which I liked. Henrik Ostergaard was a bad ass. Very unique voice. Paul Lidel excellent guitarist. Cool from the wire is great from start to finish. Cool album cover also. Turn of the screw not bad either & their later albums are respectable. Love Dirty Looks, though, I think their post 80s material were their better material. Some of these are hair, some are more metal but imo all are underrated. 01. Katmandu (remember Fastway? Same singer, Dave King. Too bad they only did one album) 02. Herman Ze German & Friends (more of one off than a band per se. Guest vocalists include Jack Russel of Great White, Don Dokken, and Steve Marriot of Humble Pie) 03. Killer Dwarfs (kind of toe the line between hair and metal. Dirty Weapons album is a must have) 04. Pretty Maids (More metal than hair but are versatile. Probably best known for their Future World album but have a big discography. Spooked is probably my favorite which includes a really good cover of "Hard Luck Woman") 05. Chateaux (definitely metal. Nwobhm to be exact. If you like Grim Reaper, you'd like Chateaux. Particularly their first album, Chained And Desperate, with vocals by Steve Grimmet of Grim Reaper)

@@RockNewsDesk different band.. they were called Risque' at one time.. they opened for Warrant on the cherry pie tour in a few places.. they did a cover of ,,"piece of my heart" and they had a couple videos out.. one was "down on your knees" (not what you think.. it was about domestic abuse) great album..I loved it.. anyway the video for down on your knees.. had Jani Lane as a limo driver cameo.. he also did backup vocals on a song or two.. he may have had a hand in their recording or contract..I can't recall.. Dave Brooks was the vocalist..
Roxy Blue was in consideration for this video. I saw Tangier open for Cinderella and White Lion on the "Long Cold Winter" tour. My ears rang for six days. Ha ha!
Like all of these guys sans maybe Salty Dog. My choice, although they had a top 10 hit once, is KIX. Super high quality songs with an "electric" current theme.
Have you ever listened to The Hangmen? Not the British punk band. They did the song Rotten Sunday and have been putting out albums since the 80's. Metallic IOU is definitely an album I would recommend. I always say they are the best band you never heard of.
I think a lot of these bands fell victim to the so-called grunge movement. I never understood why the music business wasn’t big enough for both metal and grunge…essentially it’s all blues based rock anyway!
They did have some good music. I remember the "Summertime Girls" video on Headbangers Ball. I always hated the productiin on their records, but they had some really good songs.
I've seen Enuff Z Nuff a couple times. I say then on one of the Monsters of Rock Cruises and on a KISS Kruise. I didn't see them back in the day, though.

It took me years to find Roxx Gang's second CD. XYZ has some cool music, too. It's good to hear "Inside Out" get played on SiriusXM regularly.
