Sorry for all the comments. I just want to share how pumped I am for this and how grateful I am for the time you've put into this hobby. Thanks for sharing your discoveries with us all. It's awesome to be on this ride with you all.
Love this stuff.... I am 2hrs away from the nearest field.... now we have products that we can fly at the park and even start up park club racing without issue and bothering people. Thank you!
when I get one of these companies to actually understand how to put together a quad, it will be available. I'm working with FOUR different companies that are all very well known and highly regarded but somehow none of them know how to do anything even though they put out RTF products monthly.
@@Kabab We'd happily take the individual parts or in my case just the frame, but I fear shipping from the USA to Germany will be as ridiculously expensive as with the other US shops. (However I could not check, because no stock)
Awesome little ripper. I've been watching the toothpick/alleged toothpicks for a bit. Liked the idea of them. But this is the first one that excited me, so I ordered a frame. Now I'm committed to building one. Can't wait. Happy flying, 👍💖🤓
Dont sell yourself short. Many of your designs (floss frames, motor lines, micro builds, etc.) have been revolutionary to the industry and have brought about huge change. Just because you weren't the first one to the watering hole, doesnt mean you didnt bring huge improvments to it! The haters will always try to pick away at your development and products, dont let em.
I get a LOT of shit from people because they think I copied someone else or that I'm presenting things as if I invented them. I don't even know what they're talking about but I make an effort not to piss anyone off....it's impossible not to I guess.
@@Kabab and people might think oh, all he has is a micro... But they dont have the brains to understand the IMPROVEMENTS that you have made! Yes, quadcopter were a thing before you started building them.... But you have brought them miles from where they were which is where the value is.
This class is super essential to the quad community for us SoCal people and the challenges we face with locations as you have already echoed when I've commented. Thanks for putting in the effort. I must find this tree you're zipping around. Although making the drive to your area since I'm way south of the valley would be a commitment.
"the year is 2021, the toothpick 7" coming out" :D when I saw your first toothpick....my first thought - he needs 3" and 14xx motors for that weight to be fun to fly with :)
I finally got to order one of these. This is literally my childhood dream come to life: sit inside an ultra tiny rocketship that can go wherever you want it to.
Looks like a fantastic build! Its all about that cubic disk loading... The forgiving control is to be expected but it's surprising how quick it is too!
Looks like a sweet bird. I most certainly believe you have been a very influential master of many schools-of-thought that have been invaluable to the development of a great many FPV pilots. Bravo... Kee-Moo-Sabii
Hey bob, I am pretty new to fpv and I absolutely am addicted to your UA-cam channel lol, I love your motor videos and ESPECIALLY HOW DETAILED you explain everything! I am thinking of tying to build a toothpick, you can never get these parts so I don’t know what to do. Should I buy a larva? Sailfly, diatone cube? Should I build my own with different parts? i knkw your super busy but I look forward to your UA-cam videos when they come out! Please SELL YOUR DENTIST BUSINESS AND DO THIS FULL TIME!!!!!!!!! Lol. thank you again for all your advice and please keep going!
Thanks very much. Right now all the manufacturers are on holiday. They come back to work next week and that's when we'll get all the toothpick stuff back in stock. We're still waiting on one of our manufacturers to finish making the vtx board for them but it'll come at some point. For now, the platform is just motors, props, frame and the aio board. Everyone builds whatever they want on top.
can I buy these parts at Banggood in the next future, because I would like to ship it to Europe with "Direct priority line" to avoid custom fee. or if a BNF version will be available?

in time there will be but not soon. I'm working with FOUR different companies to try to get an RTF made but none of these companies seem to understand what to do with a frame, motors and FC. These companies all put out RTF quads on a monthly or even weekly basis. I have no idea how they do that and cannot understand what to do with motors frames and AIO boards when I explain it to them....I'm at a total loss. Hopefully one of these companies will figure it out.
@@Kabab Wow. Hopefully there will be. Really interested to get the BNF or RTF. I've build many quads before to the point that i'm now lazy to build one. I just need to fly a perfectly tested build so i'll just enjoy flying instead of worrying on parts to build.
Wel I was able to buy 5 of the 1204 motors and 3 sets of pros. Have to wait for the frame and the AIO FC. Can't believe how affordable such a build is!! This will be my favorite already build to date I can already tell. Hope you will restock soon!!
What you did, when you say you did not invent anything, but you did make something and showed it, is basically what any technically trained designer with an eye for proper architecture, performance and efficiency in mind would do, so congratulations on this note. Let me share a bit history. Quads have not been my strong point, from a product manufacturing reference, because my time has been spread out in various other rc aircraft, mainly, as I offer in kit form via my web site, but I wanted to share this with you since I just came across this video, just now, and I understand what you are saying. Considering that rc quad-copters, AKA as drones these days, are a derivation of multi-rotor architecture that has existed since the 1920's, and if we look at some of those early contraptions, they too had toothpick like structures because weight has always been an issue to the available power at the time these contraptions came about, and it is still something we need to balance out in a logical form with power engines, or electrical motors in our hobby quad case, in order to get things to fly with efficiency, we can then have a better understanding of how things are set in motion. I too, had similar direction, but much much earlier than you did, I think and who knows, there were probably other people with similar direction, and so they say, when someone has one idea there are 10 other people with the same idea somewhere else in the world, for basically the same needs and many ideas that seem modern or new are nothing more than re-vamped concepts with new technology. But my angle and journey into this lighter high performance RC hobby grade FPV quad mentality, started with the design aspect of a SAFER, first and foremost, quad in the 3-5" prop size, and operable on 1S cell with high performance, and this direction came about right after I had purchase the original first commercial rc quad that launched the hobby into FPV quads, the Blade MQX. I had bought a few MQX quads and at the time that is all there was, in this feather weight 5" Blade category and so I did and offered a lot of mods as upgrades, including provisions for mounting FPV cameras, which at the time you had to build from scratch, because the more commercially available all in1 cameras had not surfaced yet. So the Blade MQX was my platform for building a 5" high performance quad operable on 1S cell and what I consider the original "toothpick" architecture, because of the simple stock cross braced carbon frame it came with, with all in 1 control board on top. Now, since the Blade MQX had come out, other later, toy grade, similar size 5" prop quads had come out with better all in 1 control boards and I also modified a few of those so that I could fly safely and with ease, with a bit more than stock performance, for solid 5 minutes, in my backyard and front cul-de-sac, most notably, the SYMAs and JJRC H12Cs. I love these conversions, they were SAFE, ultra lightweight and super easy to fly but they all suffered from lack of power for anything but relaxed cruising and those core-less motors were a pain to replace. The Mobula 7 comes out and rocks my world, perhaps everyone's world, with a high performance tiny quad that had the potential of lending its much better control board to a quad in the size of the blade MQX, so I dove right in and started to convert one of my original Blade MQXs with the Mobula 7 control board, but also using the Mobula 7 motors. Season quad-copter pilots know that you cannot use those tiny Mobula 7, or any similar size, high KV motors direct with 5" props, so I designed a similar Blade MQX carbon rod frame with provisions for the Mobula 7 motors and FC but with the Blade MQX geared mechanics, so that I could run it on the original Blade MQX 5" Blades still on 1S Li-Pol. We can say this was the worlds first 5" prop high performance quad running on 1S li-pol. At this time, I had also done other similar experimental frames in a cross shape, Blade MQX style, and if we want to extend that idea and credit also to the Lady Bird architecture, in true "tooth-pic" style, using 4 mm carbon rods I had leftover from manufacturing ultralights and microlight kits, instead of CNC plates, to not throw away good material and logically keep it simple and lightweight but strong, incorporating some 3D printed parts, to put it all together. I did 2 iterations, in similar framework fashion for direct drive operable on 2S Li-Pols. I called my first prototype the MIA Zoom, and the second version the MIA 200 Racer, the 200 denotes the diagonal distance, in mm, from motor to motor, similar to its reference cross brace framework on the Blade MQX which is 250 mm. My ultralight and microlight, autogyro kits work and family responsibilities, did not allow me the time to offer a full conversion, in kit form, at the time with these types of configurations, so I kept it as a personal project. 2019 comes and pandemic sets things at a standstill, and I lost complete interest in a lot of things as probably many people did, a crazy time, and just this year I began to re-integrate my mind back on FPV quads, so in this month I started binge watching a lot of videos to catch up with this area of the hobby and found your video. At this same I dug out my redesigned "Blade MQX architecture" "tooth-pics" high performance quads and have been having a ball with them, much as you probably have with your own. The MIA 200 Racer has become my favorite own design quad, because it has all the features that I think it should have for SAFE high performance quad, but reminiscent of the original blade MQX, in architecture, but in a much higher performance package, with off the shelf components, it handles with comfortable easy, the FC is super stable and flies tamed or wild, and it can also fly on higher number of cells since the current FC board can be operated on 2-4S , but 2S is plenty for the average FPV pilot seeking a 5" blade size quad performance with a lot more safety than the traditional flying 5" blade bricks of the past. I am doing a full video on its history and hopefully a video that shows all its capabilities in the hands or a more skilled FPV "quad" pilot if I can find one local to fly it for me. I have not invested the time in flying FPV quads required to build up my skill level to the one you show on your video, crazy fast loops and flips, and this is the reason I would like a pro FPV pilot to fly mine, this way I can measure with certainty my target specifications and can prove weather my early designs are what they should be as presented in this comment. Anyway, I hope you are still involved in the hobby and wish you well.
Definitely still involved. I love it too much not to be. The pandemic made me very busy with other businesses however so I've been away. I'm coming back more and more now that the businesses are stabilizing
We don't deserve you Bob. You are adding so much to this hobby, really causing a revival for a lot of folks. Never apologise for being accredited for the invention of the toothpick. If anybody else had already done it before you, it obviously wasn't as good because nobody heard about it. This quad looks insane and I want to build one. Amazing frame design. Thank you so much for all the work you put into designing these things. One of the few people in the space who actually knows what they are talking about. Will you be shipping to the UK? I would love your frame but I don't live in the states.
Thank you. For now I'm just seeing if the community will support my store so I can do this more and more. I have so many unique projects I'm working on but need a reason to spend the time to develop them.
@Return FPV 1mm body plates is all I've run for the past three months. They don't break. Micros are nothing new, as I explained in the video. I did not invent anything. I merely work on convenience, durability and performance. Tons of micros out there. I've flown many of them and hated most of them. Companies keep coming out with more and more micros. Please don't consider me any different and stop hating me for having fun and sharing it. I'm only bringing more value to the micro scene. I'm not your damn enemy! I've left all the micro groups because of this sort of sentiment. I don't understand the hatred.
@@Kabab 100% agree. I do not understand why people in this hobby would have hard feelings towards you. The work you do benefits us all. We gain enourmously from your testing and experimenting. Why do people despise it? I will support your store if you ship to the UK. I want to make it worth your while
Hell yeah man! That little guy is shredding! Love the punch rewind at the start and the music too, loving the flying. I'm very impressed with the 1303s. 4800kv is beasty! These motors deffo look tasty man with these little props. Nicely done :)
BTW the LR video you shared like a month ago.....opened my eyes.....I was trying to get LR7" to work and never thought of 6" or less to be good for that.........NOW I HAVE A 5" PROTOTYPE that can fly for 25 minutes covering more than 6 miles trips....YOUR old floss frame :D so THANK YOU!
yeah I play around with 7" but really don't see much point when you can do everything you need on 5 and 6. 5-5.1 is still the best size all around. Even with a hero 7
Still loving the hyperlite toothpick with 1s, only issue I had (ok I sometimes cry when the throtle isn't enough) was the shaft fell off, but I fixed with some glue. I wonder when web will get a reliable 1-2s whoop board
Also don’t worry about the haters that misrepresent what you say when you say it. You have helped push this hobby/sport to where it is now and some of us that have been around the last 3 years know it. It’s the internet people like to talk smack behind a monitor without fact checking a thing or even bother looking at the original source. I know quite a few people like that in life and on the net.
I started following you because at the time I was looking for something safe and not scary I could fly anywhere with no drama. I was just moving from LOS toy quads into FPV and decided to start out with brushed stuff and I found your video about your experiment with 1s brushed "Brushed 1S in 2018 - Thoughts?". It seems like maybe that desire came from the new laws and sub 250g and just the bad press about drones etc. It sure seems to me that your putting that out there at just the right time spurred things into a sort of "movement" and then along comes smaller components geared around 1 to 2s and now 3s brushless which has proven to be very popular. For me at least I credit you the most (based on my vantage point) for getting us to this point, so you have my thanks! I'm still mostly interested in 1 to 2s and hopefully good flight times with decent acro.
I think it's funny how close this is (conceptually) to the rotor-x atom. Not saying you are copying or anything but it's impressive to think they worked out this kind of size with 11 size motors 3" props and a 3s 450. They just did it with 30x30 hardware and naze boards. True pioneers
they were working with caveman components back then. The size class is nothing new, we've just reached a level of refinement that wasn't available before and I've pushed it a little farther to get the convenience, durability and performance I'm after.
Looking forward to the build video. Curious to see if you have found a canopy to house that whoop camera that you like. Also please include your PID tune, thanks!
Love your approach and enjoyment to/of fpv. please never stop developing the toothpick or whatever type of design that catches your eye. Looking forward to flying a toothpick when I get back into fpv. (not eve a little interested in other types, haha.)
I’m loving it. Keep it up! Edit: oh snap, 1303 and 1204 motors with 2mm shafts?! That sounds perfect. I’ve been using BH 1402 8100kv on 3x2 props and it’s great, although a little high in kv.
Bob out there being a positive influence on the hobby while making a greater impact than most with personal dental hygiene tips 👍 Btw Bob don't pay any attention to the trolls and the negative people in our hobby, they're the type who just want to see the world burn, argue for arguments sake and for their personal amusement to stroke their egos. Stay positive and ignore the toxic people in our community and their comments, it's what they hate the most and their kryptonite brother.
Oh man, finally YOUR OWN toothpick AIO. Awesome! But I've got a little 2 cents about it: the number of UARTs. One is needed for the receiver, one will be smart audio/VTX control. But what's with camera control? New cameras are constantly coming to the market, maybe there'll be one suitable for toothpicks that has camera control feature. I think the LED pad can be used for that, but then an LED ain't happening any more. Still looks awesome and for most people that won't be a dealbreaker, probably. Maybe I'll finally build my own TP. Have been waiting for good AIO (yours just has to prove itself some time).
I’m usually pretty good at sorting my wants and needs. Quads are always a want. THIS, however, is a need. I think I need one of these more than I need air to breathe!
Nice job man ! I would love to have more kakabFPV that love this hobby and work to create and develop new ideas 👍 good luck and keep up the great work you have done!
Holy snaps that little thing has some speed! Noice. I’m still having fun with my 65mm Toothpick but have a 3” build coming soon. May just wait till you perfect this one. But from the looks of it, it’s already perfect. 👍
Hi kabab, I'm waiting for one of your oficial toothpicks ±100% done by you, you said that in some months we will have it, but I need to buy one, I could wait till Christmas, you recommend me to wait or to buy a larva x or something like that that is now on the market. Thanks
@@Kabab I know kabab, I prefer your product so much but could you please tell us when is it going to be available? Are you going to put it in Chinese companies as banggod or AliExpress? Thank you
Dam cant believe it all sells out so fast... been trying to build a toothpick since the day the first version came out.. there's like 200 ppl out of thousands that get product... YOU COULD BE MAKING MORE MONEY!!! What are you doing there is no risk on going bulk we all will buy it!
When you do, if you go full time....can I be your first employee? I really respect your process and the things that you do for the hobby, and If you don't lose interest, or get overwhelmed, I think there's more great things to come and I just want to be a part of that and learn from it.
Right which is why I don't see a point to these low end split HD cameras on such a small platform. Most video consumption today is on a mobile device and this quality is just barely good enough for small screens. Running the HD just makes it clunky, heavy, expensive and compromises the FPV view.
Wish everything wouldn't sell out so fast! Hopefully I can get in on the new batch. This has always been a problem. I had to settle for a sailfly pos junk cus I couldn't get any micro parts, you should do pre orders
Is it much different the power between this and 5"? I think this toothpick are awesome because it is much less risky about the weight (I mean both to damage someone or damage drone itself), less problem with the law because of the weight, but still fun to play with, not? I have only a 5", but I don't know maybe this toothpick are the best choice? What I would miss from the 5" to 3"?
It's definitely not as powerful and fast as a 5" but in this low weight class and high output with really tight inertia it's actually more fun to fly than a 5" much of the time. They're not the same but this is probably about the best flight experience you can get from a 3".
love this frame. Quick question what target do i use on betaflight to flash new firmware. think i selected wrong one. i selected matek411. I have your betafpv 12amp aio board and think i flashed it with wrong firmware. What target to use. thank you
Hey great News! I will build one of these. I am really exited to fly a product produced by someone with as much passion for our hobie as you. Love your work and thinking about flossing LOL!
Why this camera tpu mounts don't have any lens protection? One of the most vulnerable place Just a little extended lens hood styled borders usually work fine
it's not TPU and I had to cut it off because the camera wouldn't fit inside the plastic mount. The lens is really small, hard to hit and the whole thing is pretty light. Can definitely break but this is just my preferred way to build it. Anyone can build it however they like. I don't even have any option for what anyone uses for camera or stuff on top
Finally a 1204 motor. Now you have done this geprc is sure to shrink their 1206? The 1303 amax motor looks the business too. These are the size of motor which have simply been missing. Bob, simple put, looks insane, well done
Pretty amazing flying, and I thought the cam was HD. Great work. I don’t need HD, just a better DVR than the FS one. Or does it has an on oars dvd for analog?
kabab i got a hx100 betafpv from a friend and i really enjoy it but ive had just 2s on it so far and waiting for new frame because he had a 3d frame made and its not durable and original frame is gone. well once i get my upgraded betafpv carbon frame and im wondering what causes the betafpv to have a odd behavior on powerloops like the i gain is to low...it wont guide back around in same direct path its like a propwash feel. i have betaflight 3.5 on it now and ive tried working with pids, has hqprop 65mm bi blades now. flys great besides that almost like a 5" with a little less power
nevermind i think i figured it out lol... i had airmode on a switch but wasnt using it (i forgot i set this up lol) so use to my 5" and having this on..i say this is the big reason for the washout feel and misguided powerloop feel

Love this stuff.... I am 2hrs away from the nearest field.... now we have products that we can fly at the park and even start up park club racing without issue and bothering people. Thank you!
I just have to say, this edit made me buy this build. Music, timing, goodness.

I took a break from FPV right when the first iteration was announced. Just got back to the hobby, so I’m happy it’s come a long way ☺️
And now the most important question for the people in Europe... Will you sell all the parts on banggood/ internationally? I really hope you do (:
when I get one of these companies to actually understand how to put together a quad, it will be available.
@@sarezfx Last time I checked with grayson hobby boys from Atlanta to Croatia it was 70$ just for the shipping cost.
ReadymadeRC has very cheap prices for shipping outside US
Awesome little ripper. I've been watching the toothpick/alleged toothpicks for a bit. Liked the idea of them. But this is the first one that excited me, so I ordered a frame. Now I'm committed to building one. Can't wait. Happy flying, 👍💖🤓
can't believe this is 4 years ago. I still reference this video when I design stuff for micros. Hope you're doing well Bob!
I like the new FPVCycle branding Bob, Congrats.
Now its just time to get parts in stock 😂
Next batch is already in processing.
WOW! That's a little speedy daemon!!! 😮
Amazing job, Bob!!! Amazing flying as well!!! 😃
"Damn you DENTIST, You just put a HUGE smile on my face" now on LOOP !
Micros have always been fun for me. I enjoy more than my 5 in and glad to see stuff has been getting better
"the year is 2021, the toothpick 7" coming out" :D when I saw your first toothpick....my first thought - he needs 3" and 14xx motors for that weight to be fun to fly with :)
I'm not sure i'll build one anytime soon because i'm on a long range quad kick, but that frame is a work of art and I have to have it.
I've got something coming for you some time in the future. Working on a ~15+ min 5" quad with AUW around 170g
I finally got to order one of these. This is literally my childhood dream come to life: sit inside an ultra tiny rocketship that can go wherever you want it to.
Looks like a fantastic build! Its all about that cubic disk loading... The forgiving control is to be expected but it's surprising how quick it is too!
Hot damn that thing moves! Micros have come a long way, you know how to pick’em!
Oh man do I have a new 3"/4" cinema frame for you. China is on holiday now but when they come back.....👌
Thanks Bob!
Gotta couple TP3 on the way!
Probably one of the most underrated pilots, great knowledge and great flying 👌
Looks like a sweet bird. I most certainly believe you have been a very influential master of many schools-of-thought that have been invaluable to the development of a great many FPV pilots. Bravo... Kee-Moo-Sabii
man i cant wait till these come back in stock. i need one so bad lol
You never cease to amaze me with your products/innovations
NOW I get it.. this is actually sick first toothpick/micro that I actually want to get my hands on! 👏
But your starting to lose me now with the 1mm arms and no HD.. 😂

KababFPV ahhhh 👍
can I buy these parts at Banggood in the next future, because I would like to ship it to Europe with "Direct priority line" to avoid custom fee. or if a BNF version will be available?
Just got me a set of amax motors Again! From Europe, good prices.
when I get one of these companies to actually understand how to put together a quad, it will be available. I'm working with FOUR different companies that are all very well known and highly regarded but somehow none of them know how to do anything even though they put out RTF products monthly.
You can find the amax motors or the original rcinpower, but there is no frame as good as this anywhere online
LOL Alas also true. :(
This will be the perfect companion to the original 1S toothpick. A quad for every spot.
Will there be a BNF version?
in time there will be but not soon.

I already have both the Nameless and BetaFPV boards waiting for a build so I just had to order the frame, motors, and props. Can't wait!
Why do people despise it?

yeah I play around with 7" but really don't see much point when you can do everything you need on 5 and 6. 5-5.1 is still the best size all around. Even with a hero 7
I'll be waiting for the next batch to come in!

Super quick shipping, I like the 1.5mm. 20 grams lighter than my 2.5 massive droners with more disc area. Thank you Bob!
These things I'm showing fly for 3-8min. So great flight time
I think it's funny how close this is (conceptually) to the rotor-x atom.
Wow, sold out already! I'll try to remember to check back. Love your videos, this looks like a great frame!

Wait WTF - that looks like HD footage, at least on my phone. 🤔
Right which is why I don't see a point to these low end split HD cameras on such a small platform. Most video consumption today is on a mobile device and this quality is just barely good enough for small screens. Running the HD just makes it clunky, heavy, expensive and compromises the FPV view.

They're not the same but this is probably about the best flight experience you can get from a 3".
damn. that little thing rips! I got some spare MB1105 5500KV motors laying around. Can I build TP3 with 1105 motors?

Love it. Amazing work!
Why this camera tpu mounts don't have any lens protection? One of the most vulnerable place
Just a little extended lens hood styled borders usually work fine
it's not TPU and I had to cut it off because the camera wouldn't fit inside the plastic mount. The lens is really small, hard to hit and the whole thing is pretty light. Can definitely break but this is just my preferred way to build it. Anyone can build it however they like. I don't even have any option for what anyone uses for camera or stuff on top
Congrats on the web store Bob looks good. Now restock, so I can buy some stuff hahaha. Hope you include some cool KababFPV stickers hint hint :)
Finally a 1204 motor. Now you have done this geprc is sure to shrink their 1206? The 1303 amax motor looks the business too. These are the size of motor which have simply been missing.
Bob, simple put, looks insane, well done
1206 draws WAYYYY too many amps. 1204 in this construction is very efficient with this prop
Its looking awesome!
Pretty amazing flying, and I thought the cam was HD. Great work. I don’t need HD, just a better DVR than the FS one. Or does it has an on oars dvd for analog?
kabab i got a hx100 betafpv from a friend and i really enjoy it but ive had just 2s on it so far and waiting for new frame because he had a 3d frame made and its not durable and original frame is gone. well once i get my upgraded betafpv carbon frame and im wondering what causes the betafpv to have a odd behavior on powerloops like the i gain is to low...it wont guide back around in same direct path its like a propwash feel. i have betaflight 3.5 on it now and ive tried working with pids, has hqprop 65mm bi blades now. flys great besides that almost like a 5" with a little less power
nevermind i think i figured it out lol... i had airmode on a switch but wasnt using it (i forgot i set this up lol) so use to my 5" and having this on..i say this is the big reason for the washout feel and misguided powerloop feel
very interested in those props. finally, some props with more modern shape. great work Bob.
