It's about a man of faith who knows God is his source of faith, yet due to the constraints and reality of being a human in a flawed body and in a flawed world, we (humans) will always have a longing on earth for that unit and love of all humanity, living things, and the earth, and to feel that personal connection with God. It is why humans can never get true permanent satisfaction from materialism or "things" or status. It's ironic but when you reach this place, that's when you know you're in right place, tho' he may not realize it at the time because his doubts and emotional longing seem like a sad thing. That longing is a true dichotomy however, because it shows he realizes what truly matter on this earth and this is just a temporary life. I hope this message reaches who it needs to reach.

When you lose a person that you loved with all your heart and soul you are always searching, even if you know they are gone forever. You will never find what you are looking for. My daughter's father, my fiance is locked away in a group home by his parents. They travel all over with the money from his settlement. He was working as a lifeguard at the college he and I both went to. I was 8mths pregnant with our child. We were engaged to be married that summer.
He was on a break doing laps in the pool, the other lifeguard on duty was our close friend. There wasn't anyone in the pool so she was doing other things. She didn't see that he was in trouble. He had a seizure under water, he lost consciousness and lost oxygen to his brain. The damage was irreversible. He lost his short term memory. Everything after the accident he could not retain.
We hadn't picked a name out for our daughter yet, when she was born he was there to hold her and never wanted to forget her name, he had it tattooed onto his chest.
Because of the loss of oxygen, he also lost regions in his brain that altered his personality, ability to process information, to know right from wrong.
He could no longer drive, work, or lead a normal life.
Maybe his parents thought it was for the best, they took over all his rights as a human and put him in a group home.
They thought it would be best if I didn't see him. They said it confused him.
The last time we saw him my daughter was five. She is now 29.

This song was popular when I was in my thirties, I am now 66 and I found what I was looking for all my life, Jesus Christ. My life has changed for the better and I wish I had him in my life a lot sooner. All you young people , don’t scoff at the thought of going to heaven at the end of your life because I guarantee you will have a different attitude about it when you are my age than you do now, because I felt the same way. Keep an open mind about everything ,including Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven. 😌🙏

Thank you for the advice! as a 15 year old christian i really see a lot of people around my age who don't believe in God's love, it hurts me a lot, i know my generation has great potential to accept God's love, we need older people that guide us in faith as well as we need to take care of the new generation, shape their minds and hearts in the right way.

I forget what Kevin answered, but after some reflection, this song was my answer. I Don't think it refers to a specific faith, just the act of living in this world. If you stop seeking, that is a kind of death of the soul. You experience, you learn, you grow, you connect, you are a part of something that is alive, and beyond your comprehension.
