It's just 3% of kursk taken by the enemy Russia Wil not trade it but we take it back cause realistic Ukraine have no means to defend it anyways
The Kursk gamble demonstrates that Ukraine is in the dire straits. As far as material realities are concerned, the incursion into Kursk will likely not accomplish anything of value for Ukraine. Ultimately, this desperate gamble, combined with Zelensky’s announcement of a new peace plan, indicates that the Ukrainians likely understand their desperate situation. The most obvious purpose of this attack was to serve as a diversion to draw troops away from Russia’s continued advance in the Donbas Oblast. This plan has failed. Putin openly stated that Russia would not play into their hands by relocating frontline forces. As even openly pro-Ukrainian reporters and analysts have admitted, the advance towards the critical supply juncture of Pokrovsk has accelerated since the Kursk incursion and has not been halted or even delayed. With Ukrainian forces around the crucial supply hub estimated to be outnumbered two to one and defensive lines not fully manned, the city’s fall seems imminent, further complicating the Ukrainian defensive actions in the east. It is unlikely that the Ukrainian command is braindead, so they must have been aware that the experienced units they pulled off the line to attack Kursk would have significantly delayed the Russian advance. Ultimately, it seems likely they were aware that such forces would only delay, not stop the Russians. Given that reality, one might argue that this gamble, though desperate, made sense. Numerous commentators have pointed out the similarities between this Kursk operation and Germany’s Ardennes Offensive in December 1944 as a similar offensive gamble to try and prevent what was by then a clear trajectory of defeat. Since at least early 2023, the war has settled into a war of attrition. The three key factors in such a war are the balance of population, the balance of artillery, and the balance of resolve. Russia has an overwhelming balance of both population and artillery. Similarly, there is strong evidence that Ukraine and Russia are both matched in resolve, though even this factor seems questionable for Ukraine, given the perpetual reports of Ukrainian men fleeing abroad or bunkering down in basements to escape being drafted by the roaming impressment gangs. In contrast, while the exact number of Russian recruits in 2023 and 2024 is disputed, though reported by Russia to number around 490 thousand in 2023, the reality is that Russia has not had to have a second call-up of reserves, despite what is reported to be high casualties in its assaults along the front. These three factors mean that Ukraine is slated to lose a drawn-out war of attrition.
Yep probably true and you should add balance of Drones as well as balance of artillery and also as regards artillery accuracy matters as much as quantity. There maybe a general strategy to concede ground in the East rather than take casualties and the more of the Donbas Russia holds the more ready for peace it will be. The question of resolve is a very good one and hard to know. I think it is now impossible to regain the lost land in Ukraine so if Russia would settle for what it has now then why continue the fight. If Russia wants more then the fight continues but Russia has most of what it wants already. I think in 2025 we will get peace borne of exhaustion.
@@TimMountjoy-zy2fd The problem from a European perspective is however that if a land grab is rewarded Russia will only be encouraged to continue. A simple question arises: what happened? The evacuation list also includes two settlements from the Shostka district and two from Konotopsky. The Kiev regime calls the sharply increased number of attacks the reason for the removal of so many people. They prefer to keep silent about why this happened - the main thing is that everything is going according to plan in the border area of the Kursk region of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This plan consists in the loss of remnants of equipment, the creation of a deserted buffer zone "Sumy" and the loss of Donbass with the exit of the Russian Armed Forces to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Its implementation is proceeding brilliantly ahead of all schedules.

Notice the Russian trolls and bots are writing comments in overdrive over this Kursk disaster?
Actually, he did talk 'peace talks' as a good will gesture, but only up to the Ukrainian Kursk adventure. Then he got pissed off and quickly gained more territory in Donbas. Not a good idea to poke the man...

Russia has a lot of mineral resources. Ukraine is right in its approach: destroying fuel depots is not as good as destroying oil refineries. Destroying weapons, ammunition and logistics depots is not as good as destroying factories that produce weapons, ammunition and military products.
If ukraine can destroy Russian military factories with nato missiles then Russia can destroy the military factories supporting ukraine, which are in nato.See where this is going?

Zelensky is crazy. Pokrovsk is in danger because of the Kursk incursion and Ukraine will have to make 2 choices before the Autumn rains, establish defensive positions or withdraw.
since the beginning of this war I was almost certain that by now the entire region east of the Dnipro river would be in Russian hands after one year, including Sumy, Kharkhov, Zaporizhia...
I don't think it matters much what happens on the battlefield, in two years from now Russia will be utterly bankrupt..
and then we'll see some movement on all fronts.
So true. Are the Ukrainians in Kursk going to sit in the snow all winter without electricity or heat??
@@marcdc6809 Ok but Ukraine is bankrupt since 1.5 years, and 100% dependent on asking for money to let its economy just survie. So I do not even know what you are talking about.
@@petrasmiles1029 Well, Ukraine does receive all the support it needs to stay in the fight. Russia doesn't. They are using their reserves and those aren't infinite.
If Russia can't provide enough weapons and ammo to its troops, there will be an impact on the battlefield indeed.
@@lepetitroquet9410 Russia is at the moment producing more weapons than Nato is able to supply, the rate is 5 to 1 and now US signed I think 60 bln package. With this , the rate of ammunition fired will be still 5 to 1. Russia is 145 mln people and Ukraine at the time is perhabs 30 mln even though it might be lower. Such war is not even about weapons but bodies. Which side is willing to lay down more bodies. Ukraine just simply cannot win this war, because they do not have manpower. Ukraine had non stop mobilisation for 30 months, Russia had only 1. If you are low on weapons, ammo and especially manpower, your only option is through negotiations.
Russian with russian talking points, who knew.
Kursk incursion sounds LARGE area (over 1000 square km). In reality 1000 sq km. Is only just over 30 linear km . They prefer to say 1000 sq KM because it sounds impressive, yet it's not really.
The problem for Zelensky now is he has to keep sending troops to Kursk whether it's a failure or not. He has to keep the PR hype going and can't simply admit that a mistake was made. AFU can hope it's not going to turn out a Krinky 2.0.
That move they did against Russia is so bad Move. Going to lose so badly Ukraine

Zelensky peace talk is none starter.. Russia peace talk is realistic.. Kursk will not fall just like ww2 re-watch kursk war largest battle tank in human history..
This is - after all - not primarily a war between russia and Ukraine, but a war between Russia and Europe. The overriding aim of Russia is to reestablish dominance in parts of Europe. In that perspective the occupied land in Ukraine is secondary.
Unfortunately Zelenski seems to be delusional again..

The head of the Sumy regional military administration, Artyukh, announced preparations for the evacuation of the border town of Glukhov, where about 30,000 people lived in 2022.
