The 80’s Mets team’s were notoriously known as the bad boys of the NL with the likes of Straw and Kevin Mitchell and Dykstra but in reality, Ray Knight was at the center of almost all of their fights. He was one tough SOB. And Cashen deciding to let him walk after ‘86 was such a mistake. He was a huge part of that team not only at 3B but in the clubhouse. A positive influence on some of the young guys and looking back now, they clearly needed it.
Padres vs Braves brawl(s) was the greatest 4 round team fight in history of all sports. Fans throwing beer in Padres dugout, 👮♂️ cops involved, old Fulton County Stadium all on TBS the SuperStation. What an impression left on a 13 year old
Definitely the best. I'm from KC and my whole life I've prayed for a brawl to breakout at a game that I'm at. Unfortunately in 34 years I've haven't been able to witness one live..........yet 🤞.
Ray Knight had an enormous chip on his shoulder in 1986. That whole Mets ball cub was pissed off and ready for a fight every night. What a great year if you were a Met fan!
Had that '86 team been a movie, we wouldn't have believed it. Never saw a more dominant team and no free agents(maybe Doug Sisk). The '98 Yankees were a older, more responsible version of the '86 Mets but team money was far more balanced in '86. When the Expos are a legitimate contender and KC is the defending champion, it speaks volumes for league balance.
Oh how I miss the 80's Mets! Funny thing is that Ray Knight later managed Eric Davis and Davis was still pissed at Knight. The Mets lost their spirit when they traded Mitchell and let Knight walk.
The 1984 confrontation between the San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves had more footage. One of the players was shirtless and was furious at the fans in the dugout for throwing stuff at him and his team. I guess likely due to time constraints and TV restrictions, that was not shown in the highlight footage with the woman commentator talking. Not a good display for children since that confrontation got pretty ugly.
Nobody ever went after Bob Gibson after he drilled them, that's for sure, very few was dumb enough to charge Nolan Ryan, I cry laughing every time I see Ventura get the shit beat out of him 😆🤣
Players are so much more powerful these days (yes, even without steroids), that if they had all out fights like this, shit would get really, REALLY bad. Careers would be fucked up for no good reason, and even some players entire lives would be fucked up by the injuries.
@@Veganerd_ I understand your point of view. They don't have to fight like hockey but a few hits would be good for the game bring the fans in it. I miss the rivalries from back in the day. Get the fans into it more. They try to say baseball is dying and can't keep up with NFL and the NBA.
Reggie Jackson was admiring the home run a lot, so the pitcher was probably salty. He was probably barking at Reggie, so Reggie kicked his ass. What a legend.
How exactly is it "so serious" throwing the bat back at the pitcher? They are throwing a hardball at your head. Not to mention it's 1 on 6 when the batter does decide to do something. That announcer is an idiot. He acted like Guerrero ran out there and clubbed him with it.
I've been watching your videos the past two nights. The 80's and 70's fights were really fights. You could really feel the intensity

Check out the book, the bad guys won. Great book
You can't forget Ray Knight though, if you did something wrong against him, he'd charge the mound at the drop of the hat
@@kinger982 Knight was a golden glove fighter in his youth.
They oughta just call future brawls "A Ray Knight Invitational"

The best brawl of all time for sure, Summers came to a dead stop at dugout when Bob Horner blocked entrance, Wild nite in ATL

thiis is great thanks for posting. this is when baseball was real baseball. not so much brawls but baseball was great in 70s 80s 90s

If they made a movie about the 1986 New York Mets who would be crazy to play the role of the world series MVP Ray Knight?
Seriously thank you for all these videos i have watched every single one so far making this work night fly by. You da real mvp!
@Philippians 44 haha security

Their choice of music for the game highlights is so tone deaf it isn't funny.
I love how the Mets announcers say that Guerrero ducked his head into Cone’s pitch that clearly was heading for his head. Homerism at its finest.
Thank you so much for the uploads lately, common theme of 80's fights, the Mets and Bob Davidson umpiring most of the fights. Keep em coming
Ray Knight…. A guy you don’t mess with
Ray Knight was involved in every melee - including fights where he wasn’t even a member of either team.
Thanks for these fights keep up the great work
One thing is certain,Ray Knight ,the pride of Albany,Georgia takes no mess.
No Ga guys takes shit!!! Savannah Ga
4:12 Awesome! I finally found the karate kick attempt by George Bell!
we used to imitate it as kids 😂
That cubs dodgers brawl at dodger stadium was really something, in the 70s I think.
1977, I think.
Dude you’re the best! Instantly subscribed! Can you do the MLB brawls from 2001 and onward? Especially 2003?
The more you go back in time the more brutal and funnier the brawls were 🤣😂 I'm dead
Nobody ever went after Bob Gibson after he drilled them, that's for sure, very few was dumb enough to charge Nolan Ryan, I cry laughing every time I see Ventura get the shit beat out of him 😆🤣
This one definitely needs the 1984 Yankees at Angels incidents, along with Expos at Astros from 1989.
0:55 #31 One Man Wrecking Fool! Greatest baseball brawling of all time. The GOAT.
Larry Herndon.
0:23 I love how it looks like he's giving him a noogie.
Damn! George Bell has some fighting skills!!!
could just be a Mets highlight reel
Brawls back in the day seemed better than today's bench clear sites. I love baseball. A brawl brings the in closer.
Bryce Harper is the only one that knows how to charge the mound today.

@@Veganerd_ LoL so is that the reason they’re afraid to brawl? today’s players don’t know how to fight anymore (except for harper)

Dam....I wish I could watch baseball in the 80's
So far the 80s is by far the most extreme 😂 damn
Dang! They weren't messing around in the 80's. Throwing hands with bad intentions. Not all the posturing like you see nowadays.
Good stuff! Love my Mets!
9:27 Willie Wilson just ended this mans career 😂 dude literally tackled the shit out of him
4:36 i bet he still feels that 😂
Had to check after seeing Cedeno wearing 7 for the LA dodgers. Forgot he played for the LA dodgers in his last year!!
i think that umpire is asleep
That toss at 1:52 🥴😵
I don’t care how much bad blood or anything a pitcher might say to the batter if he just strikes out you keep walking to the dugout with deaf ears.
80s brawls were so much better
@4:12 HYAAAHH!!!😂😂😂
1:13 that was a fight
Does anybody know what triggered the Reggie Jackson brawl?
Reggie Jackson was admiring the home run a lot, so the pitcher was probably salty. He was probably barking at Reggie, so Reggie kicked his ass. What a legend.

80s Gd old days
This is more like it ~
When baseball was real baseball
When baseball was fun
Reggie kicked his azz
Lmao...🤣🤣🤣funny shit right there
So people were tougher back then, now these are some fights compared to the soft shit we have these days
Lots of racism here ump let to much go
If you're the only one that sees it, does that make you the racist?
