  • More great progress on both houses. More finishing work going on inside both houses. I can now walk around my second floor and soon Ian's roof goes up.

We’re also building a villas here in Subicbay, I buy my workers snacks everyday. Then Wed & Sat they get a better treat like Pancit or heavy meals. Blessed to have these hardworking people. 🙏

Yes I knew it would be good when I picked these two lots 2 years ago, but it has exceeded my dreams.

I'm impressed with how they finish the walls. Very labor intensive however. Love the view you are going to have when done. Your home will be very fireproof, I really like that.

Hi Doug your comment is spot on. Everything here is labor intensive. I was surprised by the plaster like white finish. The labor here they carry buckets of concrete, they mix it by hand, they set rebar everywhere. The view from Ian's roof deck will be his final view but he'll have some cover in case of rain we can run under. I still have one more floor to go.

I see they are now bending the stirrups at the 135 degrees bend, that is great to see that they are conforming to the upgraded standard. Both homes are looking good and coming along good with the progress. Your media room will be good also for the UST projector. I was thinking about getting one as well and bringing it there to the Philippines. The UST projectors has come a long way and is just as good as the 4K and 5K TV's now. I like the view from the roof deck and I know that you paid a pretty good penny to have that view. Well take care and looking forward to the next home update. Be safe.

Yes after I questioned Bhong the builder the next time I was on site I notice they had all the stirrups now with the bend. I checked both ways on a UST projector about $230 in fees to import one.

I just subscribed to your channel I'll watch some to see how your build goes. I also own a home in the Space Coast of Florida but 25 miles inland so no worries of storm surge and hurricanes have been limited.

Hi Guys The build is looking good.
To my way of thinking I would abandon protector in favor of large smart TV . I give some reasons.
    1. Connect to fiber.
    2. Connect to local TV
    3. Better resolution than protector.
    4. TV Works blue tooth
    5. Simple to operation
    6. TV can and Cell phone or laptop easy to connect

      I did my research
cheapest off brand 98" TV here in Philippines over $2000 and like a Samsung quality $3000

What I'm looking at are Ultra Short Throw units and they have every feature of a TV. 1. I have Starlink and love it now consistent 200 MB down going to 1 GB when the new satellites go up. Thats a big feature of Starship. 2. Same if I wanted it. 3. If I stay at 100" on the projector same, but I can go to 4K 3840 x 2160 at 150 inches, NOT interlaced like on the TVs unless you go over $6000. 4. Same I use Firestick 4K MAX. 5. Firestick works the same for either so the operation is exactly the same. 6. Built in from my iPhone. 7. Can do 3D or IMAX TV cannot. But the biggest reason is I have a completely darkened media room no light unless I turn one on. I will completely agree upstairs where all the windows are I will keep my 75 " Samsung I shipped over from the U.S. Its only because I'm having a room built for media and a projector. Same I'm going to use sound proofing panels on the walls. Love the comments but believe me I have well research this because I started with the 98 inch TV in mind. Price Projector will be between $1200 and $1800 compared to $3000 and up TV.

@AtHomeinSubicBay-cw4ij I see you have done your research. I guess it's not cheep . The projector like Panasonic will cost a bit and all the connectors.
I set a Panasonic projector on the ceiling at a conference center took ages and the cabling costs as well.
But remember the cost will long be forgotten with the fun viewing you will be getting. Anyway the sound equipment plus the karaoke gear , and we all know karaoke is king in the Philippines
I'm not sure that a US TV in Philippines is a good idea.
I decided just get TV in Philippines.
But from New Zealand I did ship 20 feet container NZ to Cebu flat pack kitchen 5 Aircons generator fridge Washing machine induction cook top gas cook top wall oven extraction hood microwave leather lounge seating reclining etc every thing dishes sink tub unit with cabinet. Cost me a bomb . Went through Cebu customs. And when the container is unpacked they say every thing is new. ( I'm not shipping old stuff) Our house is small compared with yours but it what the wife wanted and for us it's a holiday home

@@graemescebuphilippines363 Hi, Yes that is the advantage of these Ultra Short Throw projectors over the ceiling room mount that you are describing. These relatively new type you set it on the floor or a TV console in front of the screen 13" to 22 " away to give you 100 inch to 150 inch projection. Got it narrowed down to either a Hisense PX2 Pro or a Xgimi Arua or Arua 2

I see that they’re doing the kitchen woodwork have a question for you. Are they treating the wood with something to stop termites? There are lots of termites around here so really you need to get the wood treated as soon as possible or you won’t have a kitchen left in a years time.

Yes this is in Ian's future kitchen.I'll bring it up for him to ask and pursue, but I think this may only be framing for the concrete pour. But great question and this is what I love about comments now coming in things we might be overlooking!

Going to be a great looking house once finished. I love the view and I know that area. I'm wondering who will own it? You for sure will NOT OWN IT! It has to be in some Filipino's name. Then, if anything happens to them, you are forced to sell it to one of their siblings/family. But, as you know, all YOUR MONEY is going into it but YOU will NOT own it. Not even a little part of it. I lived in the Philippines for two years and in Subic Bay for a year. I wanted to buy and invest in the Philippines, but saw no gain in it for me. BTW say Hi to David Fisher (Papa Dave) for me.

The Subic bay freeport zone are legitimate leases over upto 50 years and it gives you the assurance of legitimate ownership without any Filipino involvement bar the lawyer lol. Have you seen the two older vloggers that currently arevbeing thrown out on the ear due separation and they have houses. ..ones 76 😮..

How much is the total cost for the contractor?

    • @AtHomeinSubicBay-cw4ij
      @AtHomeinSubicBay-cw4ij  15 днів тому

We are now getting to the stage where we are both potentially adding and changing but my contract price was 17 m php for 584.2 SQM. including the pool. Ian house is smaller and a lot less. If he wants to disclose his cost I'll let him answer. Remember all appliances and air conditioners even bath tub are extra cost owner has to supply. And this does not include the lots which were considerable for the view
