Apparently, one of the directors said he was so glad it was being shown as intended from a scan of the Hi8 16mm stock and not the 35 mm scan that was used so it could be shown in theatres.
Great review. Mine is coming this week I can't wait to see the new cut and the new quality. It's so cool that these companies send you free stuff so you review that's awesome
I cancelled the Limited Edition and went with the standard edition. I already own it on Blu Ray, but this version is the full version, and the extras are huge!
I'm seriously considering treating myself to this for Xmas. I've always liked special editions when it came to movies, more for extended cuts, commentaries and documentaries. When I was younger I got a small number of these types of physical bonus' like booklets and artwork but not so much lately. I've said this before and you actually read it out on your video presentation so thank you. I've only got into what I would call pure horror over the last couple of years. Anything horror-related that I did was often Sci-fi so that's the lens through which I saw it. This was the first and, for a long time, the only horror movie I genuinely liked. Horror often came across as cheesy... with the exception of An American Werewolf in London which I am not ashamed to admit I chickened out of when me and my friends went to watch it.
Just got mine this morning, good boxset and yeah there really would be no point in a 4K release when it was shot on such low quality formats. This is the best the film will ever look.
I've always enjoyed the movie and was just looking to do an upscale from my older Blu-ray. I went to the SecondSight link you provided, added it to the cart and then saw they wanted almost $30 to ship to the US. So this will cost me about $80! Nope... Good review Barry.
Nice! I just got The Blair Witch Project, and just got the shipping notice from Zavvi that Haxan is on the way. I noticed yesterday watching Blair Witch that the film company was called haxan. Spooky coincidence!!👍
I have it on pre order because it's one of my favourite films but for the price they are asking i would have wanted a steel book instead of the digipack tbh. It's still goona have pride of place on my shelf though. I'll also be putting on the new feature length documentary before watching the film because I'm really excited to see that! 👍😎
Boxset looks nice. But for me the film was way over hyped and massively overrated. Some say it's the best found footage movie. Personally it doesn't even touch Rec!. Not for me.. I don't collect now just for the sake of collecting. I have to absolutely love it to purchase now.
@@WolfmansGotNards This is my right answer as well.. A movie like Blair Witch will obviously always have opinions from both extremes though, that's expected.
Absolutely bud. Not everyone likes that same movies. Im sure I have a few in my collection that others would shreik over lol I appreciate the effort tho they went to, to give those who love this movie the attention it deserved. @@hype88
@@WolfmansGotNardsyeah I thought you would like it bud. Just not for me. Isn't it great we don't all like the same movies. Because if we did life would be boring and we'd have nothing to debate lol.. Yet still I can appreciate the efforts they went through to get you what you love. Rock on

I just ordered it… Thank you so much for this wonderful review!😀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks, Kathy. You won't be disappointed.
That’s a great box set! Thanks for posting.
I may have to order this, it looks brilliant!

This one, I actually purchased myself. I was just so used to saying they sent it to me, haha!
@WolfmansGotNards oh cool

Thanks for the shout out Barry 👍🏻 Looks like a nice set 💥
Thanks, Rob! Great set!

I ordered it. Now, I need to buy a Region Free player to watch it.
It's a lovely set mate, we received ours this morning, it looks great on bluray agree, you don't need a 4k for this, great review mate 👍

You should be able to purchase a copy from a US-based site for cheaper.
Amazon have it available for the UK and US 👍
@@papa_sloth_gaming547 It's out of stock AND it's only Region B which doesn't play in the US.
Well fine, I'll have the blu-raybbut I ain't watching it!
Okay, I'll watch it...
But I'm turning it on when the scary shit starts to happen 🙈
I'll be watching this tonight with 'Haxan'.
The Blair Witch Project's company Haxan Films is named after that movie. :D
@@WolfmansGotNards Oh yeah of course!!
👍

Blair arriving today 🎉Haxan tomorrow fingers crossed 🤞 enjoy your Sunday
Definitely intentional with regards to their company name.

Steelbook is the cheapest piece of crap ever to come out of collecting.
WILL THIS EVER COME OUT IN 4K? i feel they can absolutely stabilize the movie more with today's digital effects and technology
I think the point is NOT stabilising the movie. So 4k may not be required.
Thats really nice ! 👍
I hear this is region locked, is that accurate?
I couldn't say, but since it's only Blu-ray, it's possible!
Merry early Christmas to me😂
Ho ho ho!

That something is overrated is not a bad thing.
Underrated for me.

Not to change subject but News just came out that Tony Todd just passed away. 😞
